The cottage was clean, tidy and well appointed, which is what was expected having stayed at one of the owners other properties before this. There was plenty of kindling and wood for the wood burner which, during a cold and snowy week, made the lounge very cosy during the evening.

Very warm welcome, cottage very comfortable and beautifully clean.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage, very clean and well kept, the owner was very welcoming and informative. The surrounding area, gardens etc, we're not at their best because of the time of year and the weather at the time, but full of snowdrops etc, and the bird table was an amazing sight just outside the dining room window. Would definitely consider going again during the summer months.

THIS PLACE IS REALLY LOVELY!

  • 5 of 5

Wendy and Adrian are the sort of genuinely warm people who don't get in your way, are laid back but really efficient, and have thought of everything you might need in the cottage, including stuff I haven't even got organised in my own home. The log burner is easy to light (although they'd lit it for us when we arrived), everything works and is beautifully clean, the maps and local information provided is extensive and really useful, the home-made buns and newly-laid eggs left for us were excellent, the bed is comfortable, even the horses are friendly. Wendy had offered to get shopping in for us, which we said we didn't need, but anyway had left a load of basics for us. There are beautiful walks right from the doorstep, and the cottage is right between Caer Caradoc and The Lawley, and only a few minutes drive to Church Stretton, where the most fantastic delicatessen, Van Doesburg's in the High Street, does the best ready-made meals, puddings and cakes, sandwiches, a wonderful selection of cheeses, all excellent quality.

We loved our few days there, and would go back like a shot. Felt sad leaving after only 3 days!

A lovely cottage in a super setting in Shropshire

  • 5 of 5

Wendy made us very welcome on our arrival and left tea, coffee and a lovely sponge cake to refresh ourselves after our journey. Wendy and Adrian are a lovely couple, they were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Caradoc Cottage is an immaculate, clean and well equipped cottage with an enormous, very comfortable master bedroom! We loved the area and found many places to visit, for example; The Ludlow Food Fair, The Severn Valley Railway, Shrewsbury river boat trip, Ironbridge museums, the British Ironworks Centre near Oswestry and Attingham Park. Wendy recommended The Bottle and Glass pub at Picklescott where we had a lovely meal with excellent service. We would certainly recommend this property, and have already done so to our friends and family!

Excellent property. Comfortable, cosy and well appointed.

  • 5 of 5

The owners were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Excellent base for exploring Shropshire, in between the Caradoc Hills and the Long Mynd. Views were stunning. Plenty of interesting towns and villages within easy reach. We call it the "County of Flowers".

One week was not enough to do everything we wanted, so we will have to return.
