Modern Mill House With Dramatic Views

Updated: 20-Oct-2016
Cottage near Wadebridge, Cornwall, England - Peaceful, Romantic And A Short Drive To The Beach

Sister cottage to property 18015 the Mill is a stunning bolt hole set amongst the wilds of North Cornwall. Hustyn Mill is perfectly located for a stunning break in Cornwall. Perched on the edge of the valley overlooking Hustyn woods, Hustyn Mill is the perfect place to come and relax and wind down from the stress of everyday life. Positioned within striking distance of both the dramatic North coast and the soft undulating hills of the south but we don't think you'll want to be going anywhere for the first couple of days!

Cosy Bolthole Retreat

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the mill early to mid October for 5 nights as a base for exploring Cornwall. It was about a 10 -15 min drive from the centre of Wadebridge.

The mill is very cosy with a lovely wood burner as a focal point. All the kitchen cupboards and drawers are well equipped with a multitude of pots, pans and cutlery. Our tip for anyone staying more than a couple of days would be not to buy too many groceries at once; as the fridge is the only available food storage space. The bed is king size and comfortable with good linens and the spacious bathroom has a nice deep bath that you can sink into and you just want to stay there!

Richard the owner; is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him. He told us about his glamping tents further up the hillside and suggested we could take a look at one which was empty. We took him up on his suggestion and found the tent was well equipped and laid out with an innovative hidden feature to it, which made us laugh.

We found the mill to be a nice bolthole to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and very much enjoyed our Cornish break.

Wonderful Modern Mill House.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for one week and loved every minute of it. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very modern and lovely and clean. There are hikes to take from the apartment and great views of the surrounding countryside. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Cornwall.

Lovely property in great location to explore the joys of Cornwall.

  • 4 of 5

The property is a beautifully converted mill set in the grounds of a privately owned farm. Fully equipment with plenty of cooking utensils, boardgames and DVDs and a free basket of logs for those cosy nights in. The property is situated next door to the owner's house set down some steps but you are not overlooked at all and Richard (the owner) is on hand at any point to help out and provide tips on the delights of Cornwall.

The property is set several miles down a single track which may be tricky in certain conditions but we found only added to the magic of Cornwall- a very memorable stay.

bolt hole

  • 5 of 5

This must be one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in.

I consider myself lucky to be able to travel so much and I thank the lord for that.

This year have travelled to Rome, Ports pollensa / pinewalks in Majorca, Lincoln, Bath, Saville, Granada , Herez, Caditz.

Last year I also visited Monaco, London, Genoa, Sicily, Dubrovnic.

But this little bolt hole in Cornwall is on my most treasured list

It's a wonderful piece of Cornwall. Not overlooked, Quiet. Safe. Just beautiful and. So peaceful. I will definitely return. The log burner gave it a very romantic feel, l spent my time there alone trying to write my book, but next time l visit l may take a lady with me as its so romantic

Facilities. the modern kitchen was very good, the bed had a memory foam matterss, So l will buy one of these for myself, so comfortable l didn't want to get up..the bathroom had a full size bath with a shower. Under floor heating kept it cosy but not too hot, the views are unequaled. Even has a stream running at the end of the garden. If l can't write about this place in my book l shouldn't be writing.

The host is the perfect gentleman, nothing was too much trouble for him. And his knowledge of the local area very good. If your looking for some where truly beautiful ....... go here..... But just don't tell too many people....... Keep it to yourselves...

Thanks Richard.

Tony Roles.

The mill is a wonderful place to stay. It is extremely peaceful and relaxing.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and you are provided with everything you need for a super holiday- even if the weather isn't great.

I would thoroughly recommend it.

Peace and tranquility

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay in this wonderful place. Richard and Nicky were very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was just perfect with tremendous attention to detail ensuring we wanted for nothing. It is just the most ideal location if you are looking for peace and tranquility. We enjoyed lovely walks direct from the property and sightseeing trips by car. We chose to stay in at night as the only slight warning I would give are the roads are very narrow and twisty. The bathroom was superb, the bed very comfortable with lovely duvet, pillows and linen and the wood burner ensured a lovely warmth to the whole place if required. I could have sat and read my book for hours on the bench outside listening to the wildlife..

We would highly recommend this for a romantic breakaway.
