Apartment in Stamford, Lincolnshire, England - Town Centre Location Overlooking The River

Number 1 Scotney's is a delightful stone built property that has recently been converted into a luxury serviced apartment. It has a boutique hotel feel and is perfect for a short business stopover, relaxing getaway or fun family break.

Overlooking The Meadows and river Welland, close to the town centre, ideal for exploring the many individual shops, fine restaurants and characterful pubs, nearby is Burghley House, famous for the award winning International Burghley Horse Trials.

The first floor apartment is accessed via a set of external stone steps and comprises the following:-


- Hallway with storage for outer wear

- Master bedroom with ensuite

- Double/twin bedroom

- Family bathroom

- Spacious open plan living space with dining area and integrated kitchen

- Large decked terrace with outdoor furniture and lights

As you approach the property you will see an enclosed stone staircase; walking up the steps through the small wooden gate, you are greeted with a large decked terrace which is ideal for relaxing from dawn 'til dusk, especially in the warmer summer months because its the perfect suntrap and offers lovely view of Stamford Meadows and the River Welland. The external lighting makes the terrace an agreeable setting for the evening, and the fixed parasol, comfy rattan corner sofa and coffee table are ideal for outdoor entertaining. Cushions are also provided and located inside the property.

As you enter Scotneys, a small storage unit for boots is on your left and a wall-mounted rack for coats is straight ahead. Turning left, you enter the bright spacious master bedroom which has washed stone walls and a king size French Chateaux bed, wardrobe and drawers. Also provided are an array of tasteful accessories, two large bedside lamps, rattan chair, dressing tables with mirrors, hairdryer, flat screen television and luxury roman blind with black out lining. Located off the master is an ensuite that includes a walk-in shower, basin, WC, heated towel rail, vanity mirror and two low-level sash windows.

The secondary bedroom consists of a geometric feature wall, shaker style wardrobe and drawers, roman blind and driftwood bedside table lamps. There is also a king size Divan zip and link bed which can be converted into two single beds if required (please inform us of your requirements before arrival).

Between the bedrooms you will find a family bathroom which includes a basin, WC, bath with overhead shower, large mirror and vanity unit. Fresh towels, deluxe bedding and high quality linen are provided. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and there is a visitors parking permit for the space No. 10.

A striking glass chandelier and eight-seater black dining room table takes pride of place in the centre of the kitchen-living area. As you turn left you will find a fully integrated modern white gloss kitchen with granite worktop. Appliances include an under counter fridge with freezer compartment, hob, overhead extractor, oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a sink, microwave, kettle and toaster, along with a range of cooking utensils, crockery, glasses, etc.

On the right hand side of the living space, you will find a relaxing sitting area with a giant corner sofa, large mirrored coffee table, large Smart flat screen television on a large mirrored sideboard and a variety of books and games.

There are also two armchairs and a side table with reading lamp, decanter and two glass tumblers positioned on top in case you fancy a late evening tipple. The small storage cupboard containing the outdoor rattan sofa cushions is located behind the armchairs.


In 2013 Stamford was named 'The best place to live in Britain' by the Sunday Times. The Georgian architecture of the limestone buildings have led it to be described as the 'Finest stone town in England'. The town is home of internationally acclaimed equestrian event, Burghley Horse Trials, which takes place at Burghley House, a stately home and grounds less than 10 minutes walk from Scotneys.


Stamford is one and a half hours by car from central London and just over an hour from Kings Cross Station. It is also within easy reach of other charming towns, such as Oakham and Uppingham, and a short car journey from Rutland, Englands smallest county, where you will find Rutland Water Park, a rural attraction offering outdoor activities for all the family.


Smoking is not permitted inside this property. If you smoke on the terrace, please ensure your cigarette ends are carefully put out and placed in the black bin.

We don't allow parties or events.

Suitable for children, however those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the terrace at all times.

Whilst staying at Scotneys you are responsible for the security of the property and you own belongings. We advise you keep windows and doors locked when leaving the property and make the apartment secure before retiring for the evening.

The Wi-Fi code and car parking permit can be found on the storage unit in the hallway.

Perfect apartment for 4 in heart of Stamford

Superb apartment overlooking the river. Very comfortable and clean. Photos do not do justice to the light, airy modern lounge/ kitchen. Welcomed with flowers on the dining table and milk etc in fridge. An excellent week end retreat only a few steps from the beautiful town of Stamford. Not a problem to us, but be aware of steep stone staircase to the terrace and entrance door.
