Braithwaite is a Lakeland Village filled with character, it has 2 good pubs which offer a range of bar meals, the village can also offer a couple of restaurants and a village shop. Keswick can be found just 2 miles away which has many amenities from shops and restaurants to museums and the Theatre by the Lake.
The Mews Studio Cottages sleep 2 WE HAVE NOT BEEN EFFECTED BY THE FLOODS
Cottages 5, 6 & 7 are built in the same style as the bigger cottages but are all on the ground floor level and are open plan studios, each of them has a double bed, fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a seated dining area.
The Whinlatter Visitor Centre is highly popular for cycling activities and Go-Ape the famous Osprey Viewpoint and much more.we also have lots more propertys to let which arnt on here. Hi my husband and i have just bought old mews farmhouse,we have been local people all our lives we live on a working farm with cows and sheep at bassenthwaite ,and my mother in law all so has holiday cottages,We have 2 boys 6 and 13 ,i have a lovely hobbie which is horses and i own my own horses to .

Close to every where
Its £ 100 deposit ,then the rest 6 weeks before arrivel.
In busy season i like to stick to saturday to saturday,but give a call and ill see what i can do.

Lovely little cottage
Lorraine was very friendly and welcoming on arrival and the property was clean and fresh. We had arrived early and when asked if we could just put our bags into the cottage while we went to a pub for lunch she happily agreed to this.
Regarding previous reviews we agree that parking is certainly an issue in front of Cottage 9. We had a Ford Focus rental and it was squeezy trying to manoeuvre the car in the tight parking area when 2 other cars were parked there. Lorraine very kindly agreed for us to park in a front car space later in the week when one of cottages was empty.
Braithwaite is a pretty village and the pubs were wonderful for meals and drinks as was the village shop for milk and bread. The cottage is in a terrific location for hiking and exploring the northern Lake District.
Ensure to ask for the street address as the Farmhouse Mews is not immediately apparent on entering the village and we had to ask for directions.
Great property for individuals or groups
We were in the Annexe with friends in the main four bedroomed cottage, complete with the Aga stove in their part. We loved that we could open our space internally to their's, but also be separate. The Annexe is generously spaced for two and possible for more, say a family with single bed options. A good kitchen. Great location for exploring the Lakes District. Highly recommended. The use of the washing facilities was much appreciated. The listing was accurate I think. The internet was generally good, with peak periods when it was not possible to get ready access but no big deal; the owners were available each day and very friendly; the corner shop about one minute away was great for extras (and more); likewise the pubs; the fact that dogs are allowed (downstairs and not on furniture) was clearly appreciated by the many dog owners who were there; and Keswick is about 5 minutes away by car, it is a charming town. Walking was brilliant from the property, as in out the door and immediately on to walking trails, low lying or on to the hills, from which the views down were terrific. A good selection of tourist information was available too. I would happily return there anytime.
Excellent! great location, very clean and tidy - tight parking spaces
Braithwaite is a beautiful village sadly hit by the floods last winter. Lots of work ongoing to restore it to it's former beauty with a great dog friendly pub - The Coledale inn. The apartment was equipped to a high standard and very clean and tidy; overall good value for money with a huge king sized bed. It is close to Keswick, 30min walk, and great walks just up the road in Winlatter forest. Ambleside is a short drive away, as are many of the beautiful attractions offered in the lake district.
The only concern is the very tight access to the allocated parking spaces for Nos 7, 8 & 9 mid to large vehicles may not fit (I had to fold my mirrors to get through. The owner did offer an alternative space which may not always be available). Another minor niggle was the notices posted around the apartment INSISTING that we clean up using the vacuum cleaner and cleaning products provided!! Unnecessary as we would never leave the place in a mess (we were charged extra for the additional cleaning due to my dogs!!) afterall we wouldn't expect to clean a hotel room after our stay or wash the dishes after a restaurant meal! Don't let these minor niggles put you off, overall our stay was excellent. We would return provided we could get apartments 2 to 6 and would recommend it to friends and family.
Farmhouse Mews, Braithwaite
This is the third time in the Farmhouse Mews this year, the area and the cottages at the mews are that good we just keep coming back. This time the owner Lorraine put us up in one of the apartments and it was excellent. The views from the windows across the fells were stunning and the apartment was first class. It was well equipped, very spacious and well decorated. The village has everything you need for good holiday with plenty of walking, nice pubs and good food all on your doorstep and the lovely market town of Keswick is a nice country walk that takes about 40 mins. We have booked the same apartment for October. We would highly recommend the farmhouse mews at Braithwaite

We are near Whinlatter which has all activities for adults and children of all ages,with a,GO APE,mountain biking,pony trekking near by ,swimming pool,and lots of walks,on the fells and mountains.
The nearest Coast will be Allonby ,Which is a Favourite Place of mine,with a local shop and ice cream shops.
Nearest airport will be newcastle or liverpool.
2 mile to keswick our nearest town.you can walk on easy route.
