Braithwaite is a Lakeland Village filled with character, it has 2 good pubs which offer a range of bar meals, the village can also offer a couple of restaurants and a village shop. Keswick can be found just 2 miles away which has many amenities from shops and restaurants to museums and the Theatre by the Lake.

The Mews Studio Cottages sleep 2 WE HAVE NOT BEEN EFFECTED BY THE FLOODS

Cottages 5, 6 & 7 are built in the same style as the bigger cottages but are all on the ground floor level and are open plan studios, each of them has a double bed, fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a seated dining area.


The Whinlatter Visitor Centre is highly popular for cycling activities and Go-Ape the famous Osprey Viewpoint and much more.we also have lots more propertys to let which arnt on here. Hi my husband and i have just bought old mews farmhouse,we have been local people all our lives we live on a working farm with cows and sheep at bassenthwaite ,and my mother in law all so has holiday cottages,We have 2 boys 6 and 13 ,i have a lovely hobbie which is horses and i own my own horses to .

Old Farmhouse, full of character c1656 sleeping 6 in centre of village.

The property was warm, clean and well maintained (and all light bulbs worked, most unusual in holiday lets). Cottage full of character with a lovely AGA in the kitchen, a delight to return to after a walk in the rain. Plenty of room to store our walking gear. Very convenient location, being situated only a minute from the village shop, a couple of minutes from the bus stop and within staggering distance of the Royal Oak, who serve excellent meals much needed after a day on the fells. We hardly used the car all week as many fell walks accessed directly from the cottage. A couple of days were so warm we were able to enjoy the secluded outdoors seating area upon our return. We shall hopefully return and would thoroughly recommend,

Gorgeous Property in beautiful location

We stayed in the farmhouse with our adult son and my parents, and it was just perfect! The property was immaculate, finished to an exceptionally high standard and the perfect location for a lake district holiday( only 10 mins by car into Keswick).

The kitchen is very welcoming with the warm arga and all the equipment you would have at home. The living room and bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the courtyard garden is the perfect little sun trap (even in October!)

The added bonus of this property is the helpful, friendly owners who are on hand to assist with any questions/queries.

If you stay here book a meal at the Ivy House, definitely worth a visit.

We would definitely stay again, and may also bring other family members to stay in the adjoining properties.

Just Perfect

Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location With plenty of walks right on the doorstep. The owners are very friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The cottage was very clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Would highly recomend this holiday cottage

Perfect cottage

Stayed in the old farmhouse for a long weekend with some friends and Tia the springer!

Excellent accommodation, perfect for a large group.

The cottage was more than we could of hoped for, everything we needed was there,a perfect location for a weekend in the lakes. Just mind your head on the beams!! :-)

The local pubs are not great! watch out for the tumble weed as you walk in!! Also do your food shopping before you arrive unless your going to eat in Keswick every night.

Easter Treat

We actually stayed in the annex of the Old Farmhouse that can be shut off separately and it was just right for us and our two little girls.

The location was perfect with 4 lovely places to eat in the village and just a short drive from Keswick.

The annex was lovely, especially the bedroom which had great views. The owners were super friendly and gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to do.

Would definitely go back and am even thinking of hiring the Farmhouse and the annex next time and taking the whole extended family.

Would highly recommend it! And thank you to Lorraine and Jon for making our stay so enjoyable. Hope to see you again soon.

Braithwaite is a fabulous Village with lots to do near by ,Whinlatter,osprey and Keswick is all so tourism place.

Nearest Airport : newcastle at 100 Miles Nearest Train : penrith at 18 Miles Nearest Beach : allonby at 20 Miles

Special interest holidays:

We are near Whinlatter which has all activities for adults and children of all ages,with a,GO APE,mountain biking,pony trekking near by ,swimming pool,and lots of walks,on the fells and mountains.


The nearest Coast will be Allonby ,Which is a Favourite Place of mine,with a local shop and ice cream shops.


Nearest airport will be newcastle or liverpool.


2 mile to keswick our nearest town.you can walk on easy route.
