Delightful second floor(top) apartment in the beautiful Lakeside Village, Quinta Do Lago. It has all modern amenities and is furnished to a high, comfortable standard. It has full air conditioning. It probably has one of the best views over the lake. The bedrooms are very comfortable and furnished to a high standard, the master bedroom has an en-suite. There is a separate guest shower room opposite the second bedroom. The kitchen has all modern appliances. The living area has very comfortable sofas and a flat screen TV which has all the UK channels including Sky Sport channels.There is also free internet access. There is also a dining table with 6 chairs should you wish to eat indoors.The apartment is within walking distance of the beach which has miles of uninterrupted sand. There are beautifully maintained private landscaped gardens and a pool area for the use of residents. This area overlooks the lake. There is also a little snack bar area for the sole use of guests at the pool which also has wifi access. It borders the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve which boasts many different species of birdlife. This is particularly enjoyable for those that like walking. There are many golf courses nearby and is in close proximity to San Lorenzo, three Quinta Do Lago courses and Pinheiros Altos. Other activities nearby are riding stables, bicycle hire and of course private tennis courts for the use of residents. The property has a patio area with a lovely table and chairs for dining "al fresco" and sun-loungers ( all with cushions) accessed from the living area which overlooks the lake and garden area. There is an awning which can be used to provide shade in the heat of the day, if required. There is also a watersport facility a short walk away which caters for wind assisted and people powered sailing only! There are no motorised boats allowed in keeping with the peaceful location. This is set beside the exclusive "Casa Do Lago" restaurant which also has a pool for cooling off during the day! There is a lovely less formal bistro type restaurant, if you prefer next to it, called "The Shack". They are both located on the lake.

About the Owner

We are a non smoking couple with a grown up family. We enjoy golfing and walking and this part of the world is the perfect place for us as it has a lovely climate all year round. We also enjoy travelling to different parts of Portugal and Spain and this is an ideal location for that. The apartment suits us as we are quite happy sitting on the balcony, switching off whilst looking at the fish jumping out of the lake....quite often with a lovely glass of wine in our hand!

Excellent stay in a lovely apartment

We have just spent a fantastic 2 weeks in this apartment. The facilities in the apartment are excellent, everything is very clean and well maintained. It has a modern but homely feel. The surrounding gardens and pool were kept immaculate.

The location was perfect for us with a young family - 5 minutes walk to the Shack - a lakeside bar/ diner. Our children (9 and 11 years) loved the safe beach there. It's located about 20 minutes drive from Faro airport and about 15 minutes walk from lovely restaurants, golf courses and shops.

Hilary was so helpful when booking the apartment and went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Hilary and Grant.

A fantastic apartment set in a special place!!!

This is a fantastic apartment set in a great location. This was our first holiday with our 9 month old boy and couldn't have chosen better. The apartment was in excellent condition with everything that a young family required. The weather was fantastic and could not fault anything. So many excellent bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and I would like to thank Hilary for making this experience so delightful - we will be returning in the near future for our next holiday.

Immaculate apartment in a wonderful,peaceful area.

As a family we usually stay in a 5* hotel in the area but decided to have a different short break holiday by going in a self catering apartment. And what a find,we are now looking at when we can return to it!! The owners were very helpful leading up to our arrival. Everything was well organised and went smoothly. The apartment was immaculate and very well equipped with everything you could need. It was cleaned,bedding changed and clean towels provided half way through the week. Beautiful view onto the lake from the balcony, children loved the pool. We love the area and know it well. Excellent beaches, restaurants etc all a short drive away. Can't recommend this area and definitely this apartment highly enough.

Stunning apartment in superb location

Our family of four have just returned from two weeks in this gorgeous apartment. With modern décor and high end comfort/furnishings it really was a home from home. The photo gallery and past reviews are 100% truthful. With both the pool and lake in plain perfect sight we never tired from looking at the view. Even in height of summer we didn't fail to find a sun bed, regardless of time of day. The pool area is quiet and relaxing set in manicured gardens alongside Pedro's friendly pool bar, serving hot snacks and drinks from mid-morning until early evening. Within easy 10 minute walk we counted at least 4 restaurants. Many more restaurants and bars within a short 5-10 minute car journey. The lakeside beach/water sports, Shack bar, Casa Lago restaurant all easily under 10 minutes stroll and good value and fun for all the family. The beach takes around 30 minutes to walk across the Formosa Nature Reserve. Nearest supermarket/shops 5 minute drive away situated at the entrance to the resort with 3 larger ones in Almancil around 10 minute drive. Apartment was cleaned once mid-stay along with fresh linen including beach towels. The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard. The bedrooms have more than enough storage and extremely comfortable large beds. The two bathrooms are small but perfectly formed! Highly recommended for those in need of rest and relaxation in tranquil, beautiful setting with low key, high end amenities.

Luxurious apartment in stunning location

Beautiful apartment in a fabulous location over looking both the pool and lake. The apartment is so tastefully and comfortable furnished with everything you could need and more; a real home from home. The double bed was absolutely divine!! Great air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable and the apartment was beautifully clean and sparkling with lovely modern bathrooms.

The apartment is situated in the prestigious resort of Quinta do Lago resort and is surrounded by the most fabulous properties and golf courses. There are a number of lovely restaurants nearby and we enjoyed walking around the resort. We particularly liked the Shack as it was a short 5 minute walk and was very relaxed for bistro type snacks and cocktails. They often have chilled, live music and the setting over looks the lake & small beach. Koko Lane again is a beautiful setting overlooking the golf course and great food and service. We hired a car as we were there for 2 weeks and visited Val de Lobo, nice beach/seafood restaurants, Vilamoura, shops/restaurants/marina, Albufeira - old town for cobbled streets/individual shops and nightlife and also Loule similar for cobbled streets/food market and individual shops. A car is not necessary for a short stay but they are very reasonably priced and the other resorts are fairly close so it was great to explore.

Hilary the owner is absolutely lovely and we chatted for over an hour when I called to book. Hilary is so helpful and bent over backwards to ensure we had lots of information for car hire, restaurants and information about the apartment.

Thank you for a truly perfect holiday which exceeded our expectations!! We have booked again today to return in September 2015. We can't wait. A truly fabulous find!! Thank you so much (-:

Superb location and apartment!

Superb 2 week stay in August in this lovely apartment which is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. We loved being on the 2nd floor as it gave us a bit more privacy and also made the best of the wonderful views. Although it was busy by the pool, it's large enough to accommodate everyone even at the busiest time of the year and we always managed to find a quiet corner in the well maintained garden to sun bathe or snooze under one of the beautiful palm trees. Pedro, who runs the pool side bar is a mind of information so well worth chatting to. I can recommend canoeing and the standing board both can be hired at the bottom of the lake and the guided tour of the Rio Formosa on a Segway was great fun. I would happily return again next year but sadly I've just noticed it's already fully booked for the whole of August 2015! Not surprising really, you'd be hard pressed to find fault here. Location

This property ticked all the boxes for us. We deliberately furnished it to a high standard with all the modern conveniences, including air conditioning. We wanted it to be a home from home. We had looked at a few properties but as soon as we walked into this one, the views sealed it for us. We liked the idea that we weren't overlooked and much preferred a top floor as you have the best of everything. Very peaceful! Everyone immediately relaxes when they come in the door. It is also easily accessible from the airport so no long journeys when you land! You can choose to be as active or inactive as you want! We love walking along the beach and then sitting having a sundowner, watching the sunset. We also enjoy being so close to some of the best golf courses in Europe.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The Algarve has beautiful sandy beaches that go for miles. It takes approx. 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the beach ( approx 1 1/2km) or alternatively a 5 minute drive. There are a few beach restaurants along the coast which serve the most delicious fresh fish!

Travel:

Faro airport is approx. 15 to 20 minute drive from the apartment. The drive from the airport is very straightforward and car hire is recommended.

Distances:

Vilamoura 15km. Faro 15km. Tavira 30km. Quinta Do Lago shopping centre is 5 minutes drive away offering a supermarket, restaurants, bars and designer shops. The nearest town is Almancil which is about 10 minutes drive away and has a choice of supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The motorway connection is about 10 minutes away. There is a toll payable on this which can be organised by the car hire company. It gives easy access to many places of interest in both Portugal and Spain.

Quinta Do Lago is an exclusive golf and residential estate of nearly 2000 acres bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. As part of the UNESCO Ria Formosa bird sanctuary, there is a strict 8% building restriction. It is favoured by the world's elite and Ayrton Senna owned a villa in the area and when he tragically died in 1994, a road was named after him "Avenida do Ayrton Senna da Silva".

There are many benefits to this property. It is in a great location giving the flexibility to do as much or as little as you want. It is very comfortable. If you stay in the winter months when it can get chilly at night the air con system converts to heating and is very cosy. There is plenty of space in the fitted wardrobes in each bedroom.
