About Sue Goncalves

My husband Artur and I met in Quarteira in 1986. The apartment has been built on the site of Artur´s family´s old beach house, where he spent many idyllic holidays as he was growing up.

We have furnished the apartment with love and attention to detail to ensure that all our guests have a fabulous holiday.

We now live about 20 minutes inland, in the hills, with our teenage daughter who is studying for her A Levels in Somerset, England, but thankfully comes home every school holiday, and a menagerie of dogs and cats.

Wherever possible I will be on hand to meet and greet and to assist in any way I can to ensure a stress free holiday.

Having spent so many wonderful family holidays in Quarteira , the decision to develop the old rundown house into luxury apartments was an easy one.

The fifth floor location ensures you are insulated from street noise, but everything you need for a wonderful holiday is on your doorstep.

We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this apartment unique

There are ten apartments in the block, and only the pedestrianised promenade between us and the beach. Opposite is a wonderful beach cafe, for coffee, snacks or something a little stronger!!

Enjoying an early morning coffee and watching Quarteira coming to life,or a glass of wine on the balcony with a glorious golden sun setting out to sea should be on everyone's "Bucket List", we are so lucky to be able to do it whenever we want.

Outside: There is a large balcony running the width of the apartment ,with french window access from the living room and kitchen, it is furnished with sun loungers, chairs and a portable BBQ. Utility Room: Utility room is fitted with washing machine, iron, ironing board and clothes dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, towels, beach towels provided for guests. Maid service provided once per week, if extra required, please advise.

Fantastic Apartment in Fabulous Location

We are frequent visitors to the Algarve and have stayed in numerous apartments via the HomeAway group, but this was the best that we have experienced. The owner, Sue, could not have been more helpful and friendly, meeting us on arrival and making sure that everything was perfect. The apartment is wonderfully situated facing the sea and Quarteira is a very pleasant location; not too busy but enough to see and do with a wide variety of restaurants within easy walking distance. The apartment is attractive, spacious, very tastefully furnished and was spotlessly clean on arrival. It is also generously equipped and Sue makes sure that everything that you might need is available. We had a marvellous week and would recommend the apartment without hesitation. The only problem is that it is so nice you will probably have to book well in advance if you want to visit - we are certainly planning to return. Thank you Sue for providing such a lovely holiday venue.

Wow, what an amazing apartment

We had such an amazing holiday in this apartment . It was beautifully decorated throughout, clean and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, so we didn't really need a car. With the beach so close it really is in a lovely position and we often spent time sitting on the balcony enjoying the view - we will miss it! Thank you Sue for being so lovely and ensuring our stay was hassle free. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Fantastic apartment and we had a wonderful holiday. The apt has everything you can imagine and Sue was great throughout.

Beach front location with lovely views. Peaceful and relaxing, nice buzz in the evenings with the promenade. Have already recommended it to family!

Perfect holiday

This is our third year staying at this fantastic apartment, can not rate it highly enough! The location is perfect and we had a brilliant two weeks in the sunshine. We will be booking for next year! Recommended this apartment to my parents and the fact they have already rebooked shows how perfect it is.

Location

Coast/Beach:

The entrance of the apartment leads directly on to a large pedestrian,tree lined promenade with direct beach access making it an ideal and safe location for families, couples and wheel chair users to enjoy the many nearby beach cafe´s and restaurants.

The beach is blue flag rated, clean and stretches for miles in either direction and sunbeds and parasols can be hired at reasonable cost. There are many wonderful and well priced restaurants within walking distance.

Travel:

Faro Airport is only a 20 minute drive away - hire a car or take a taxi to the apartment. We provide full directions and our English /Portuguese speaking meet and greet service will be there on your arrival.

Transport: A car is not essential as everything is close by and taxi´s and buses are plentiful in the area.

If car hire is required, this can be arranged for you on booking. One rear private parking space is available with access into the apartment block.

Distances:

Vilamoura , with its beautiful Marina, restaurants and shops is within a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk.

The market town of Loule is 10 km away, 20 km from Faro Town, 20 km from Albufeira and 50 km from Portimao and approx 70 km from Lagos.

The popular resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago are 15 mins by car and a delightful beach walk for those wanting some exercise .

Further Details:

Quarteira is a former fishing village that has grown over the years, but still retains its charm. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets and pharmacists nearby and the wonderful fruit ,veg and fish market is well worth a visit if you fancy a BBQ on the terrace.

For families wanting some excitement a trip to Aquashow with its huge roller coaster or Zoomarine to swim with Dolphins , will provide lasting memories.

There are many reputable companies offering guided excursions that include boat trips around the fascinating coastline of Lagos , trips to Faro Old Town,or for the culture junkies an overnight stay in the historic capital Lisbon,one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Whatever your interests Quarteira is the ideal destination, and for the sporty there is much to offer. Golf , tennis , horse riding , water sports and bike hire are all on the doorstep, and with the Algarve's wonderful climate you can virtually guarantee they will be enjoyed in the sunshine .
