Overview

About the property

House in Campanet, Mallorca - Beautiful, peaceful and only five minutes walk to the Plaza

The house is spacious, comfortable and very private. It is rustic and sympathetically restored, with roof beams, white-washed walls, terracotta floors and many original features retained. It is surrounded by palm, acacia, almond, pomegranate, orange, lemon and fig trees. You arrive at the extensive gardens and spectacular views of the Tramuntana Mountains via a private walkway.

Outside the vine-covered terrace looks onto the Pool and is ready for al fresco dining with a gas barbeque and dining table/chairs. The upstairs terrace has outside lounge and dining furniture making it fabulous at sun-down for tapas and drinks as the sun sets over the mountains.

The large pool (10mx6m) goes from 1m to 2m of depth so is super for all the family, and the pool terrace is well equipped with sun-loungers, dining table and chairs under the apricot tree.

The ancient walled town and award winning beaches of Alcudia, ranked in the top 10 in the world, are 20 minutes from the house http://bit.ly/1mzH0WP; http://bit.ly/1mkJoxc; http://bit.ly/1h92OmM. Beautiful Pollensa and the Port of Pollensa are 25 minutes away.

About Alexandra Clark

I run a software company in the UK which was started whilst living in Mallorca at C'an Fogue. Sadly, business took us back to the UK four years ago.

Why Alexandra Clark chose Pollensa - Alcudia

We came over to Mallorca on holiday in 1997 and loved it so much we started browsing estate agents whilst there!

Whilst on holiday we did the Pollensa, Lluc Monastry, Caimari, Campanet route and loved Campanet as it wasn't touched by tourism at all, but was close to the coast, easy access, etc..

Our wish list was for a rural property but which was in the village so we didn't have to drive everywhere, we found C'an Fogue which is truly unique.

Business took us back to the UK four years ago, but we continue to love our wonderful house/Mallorca, and are often over to chill out/re-charge.

Guestbook comments from the owner

" Have loved the peace and calm of C'an Fogue - the birdsong is amazing. We've never visited Mallorca before and hadn't realised what a beautiful island it is. Have delighted in visiting some of the enchanting little towns and villages around. We love Charlie! He is a real sweetheart, and hope all visitors look out for him!"

Peaceful rustic finca

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely peaceful finca tucked away down an alleyway off one of the roads in the centre of Campanent. There is a happy homely feel to the finca, and plenty of cookery books, cookery utensils and spices to get straight in, stock up the fridge and treat it as a home. It was a bit chilly in the evenings in the first part of a week so we lit the woodburning stove and curled up on the sofas with the DVDs and Charlie the resident cat.

We used the bedroom up in the roof as we liked to wake up and look out over the mountains. We enjoyed eating our breakfasts on the upper terrace.

We really enjoyed the walking in this area . It's worth buying the proper walking maps for the Sierra Tramuntana as there are plenty of lesser known walks within a few minutes drive from the finca. It's also an easy walk from the finca into the village square which has a good café scene and plenty of cyclists passing through to create a pleasant buzz to the town. The local supermarket has a good selection of wines in their cellar area.

Owner's Response: Hi Jeanette, thanks very much for your lovely review. I am at the house now and it has well and truly moved into summer! Hot, hot, hot and the pool is beautiful! Like you I am having morning breakfasts on the roof terrace looking over the pool and onto the mountains accompanied by the early morning birdsong! Thanks also for looking after the house so beautifully. All the best, Alex

Idyllic holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Campanet is situated in a beautiful, secluded location with wonderful views over the surrounding mountains from its veranda or roof terrace. It is seems a million miles away from the built up resorts of the coast but all these are in easy reach if so desired, as the main motorway is only 5 minutes drive away.

The property itself is spacious, comfortable and well equipped in all aspects, with ample kitchen equipment and space to cater for a large family or group. The wi-fi worked really well too if you need it.

The gardens and pool are a real feature. The pool was exceptionally well maintained- very clean, clear and inviting and is surrounded by mature, colourful gardens, which make for a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there at a time to gather fresh lemons from the trees in the grounds, but unfortunately too early for the figs!

The house is only a few minutes walk from the small town square which is surrounded by a number shops, and bars, all of which were very friendly towards us. The pizzas in the main bar on the square were particularly fine. The local shops stock all the essentials and there is as a hyper-market a couple of junctions down the motorway for anything else. The was also a lively market on certain days of the week and I was lucky enough to get my hands on some gorgeous melons when I was there.

All in all, if you are looking for a holiday home outside the main hustle and bustle of the coast, I could not recommend Campanet highly enough.

A rural idyll?

  • 4 of 5

I holidayed here with my daughter,son-in-law and nearly 2 year old daughter. It was perfect for us,easy and short trip from the airport, very comfortable accommodation with all mod cons but a lovely traditional feel rather than a tourist trap. The pool is superb and a sandy beach with shady pines only 15 mins away.Campanet provides all your needs whether for self catering or to eat out and there was also a wonderful rural life fiesta while we were there. It could very well become a home from home
