Beautiful house in coastal location.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 Adults and 2 young children stayed at Creel House for a long weekend as part of my 60th Birthday celebrations. We are used to a seaside resort ,staying on the Firth of Clyde at Dunoon.

Creel House is a lovely house in a nice location very near to the harbour area. Weekend stay was very peaceful and quiet with glorious weather each day. House was very well equipped and pleasantly set out to cater for us all. Information leaflets and timetables, readily available in living room/ dining room helped to plan our day trip to St Andrews for the Dunhill Golf Championship. Bedrooms were spacious with one en-suite and toilet facilities adequate for our group. Kitchen facilities were ideal although we only had breakfast each day and used the local catering for dinner at nights. Fish and chip shop, which was well recommended is situated very close to accommodation. All in all a thoroughly pleasant experience at a very reasonable price.

Thank you.

Lovely house for our family celebration

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creel House. The owner was excellent in sending all the details and giving us directions. The house was beautiful , spacious and very well equipped with plenty of parking . Fife is a lovely area. We enjoyed putting at St Andrews and the children enjoyed crabbing in the rock pools at Crail. I would not hesitate to recommend Creel House for a holiday.

Perfect place for us

  • 5 of 5

Creelhouse, was perfect for us. We travelled with our daughter and my husband's cousin and his wife. The views from the dining room and living room were of the water, what a treat for us Canadians from the prairies! So many great rating areas and pubs were just a few minutes walk, as well as the Isle of May departure dock.We took a bus to Edinbourgh and saw the Tatoo, drove to many close by areas that were on our tourist list (St.Andrews being one of them). The Haven Pub was a short walk away and soon became our favourite! We also took day trips in our rental car to Dundee and Falkland Castle. Just walking along the waterfront street was fun and relaxing. There was nothing about the house or area I could complain about. The owner was great, home was clean and bigger then we thought it would be.I would stay here again easily if we are ever back in the area. For us, the home, location and overall experience was excellent.

Fantastic holiday home very central within Anstruther. Had a lovely week's stay. Plenty of room for the whole family to relax in and well equipped accommodation to the highest standard. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Ideal Holiday Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Creel house is a beautiful place to stay--areal home from home

We could not be more impressed with our choice of holiday accommodation.

Attention to detail was first class

Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Communication between us and the proprietor was excellent.

We shall not hesitate to recommend this place.

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The East Neuk of Fife has many wonderful beaches all along its coastline, many of which are ideal for rock-pooling. There are numerous pretty fishing villages within minutes by car from Anstruther, which is in itself a delightful, bustling harbour.

Amongst the outstanding beaches are:

Kings barns (6 miles) - a blue flag beach with interesting rock pools

Elie (5 miles) - a wide flat beach where cricket is played (and an excellent pub)

St Andrews (10 miles) - East and West sands, good for kite

Travel:

Edinburgh Airport is just over one hour by car. There are several car hire companies at the airport, and cheap flights from many UK cities, including the very reasonable Virgin Little Red from Heathrow.

Further Details:

St Andrews, a beautiful university town with excellent restaurants, bars and shops, castle and cathedral, museums, aquarium, botanic garden.

The Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther

Boat trip to the Isle of May from Anstruther Harbour

The Secret Bunker, a maze of fascinating underground rooms built for survival and intelligence collaboration in the event of nuclear war.
