The Sail Loft is a beautiful newly refurbished South Devon holiday let, finished to a high spec, with all the creature comforts you could possibly need. Set over two floors, it gives you ample space for a comfortable family holiday or holiday with friends. Located 3 miles upstream from Dartmouth, it benefits from stunning views of the River Dart from the master bedroom and decking. You only need to step outside to take full advantage of the panoramic views from the land of Galmpton Touring Park, or take one of the numerous walks through the stunning Devonshire countryside right from your doorstep, to witness the beauty of the River Dart or Torbay coast. The property is set conveniently on the edge of Galmpton village, near Brixham, with a great local pub, serving good food and local ales, a butchers and village store, all only a 5 minute walk away. A short walk from the Sail Loft will see you into the Greenway Estate, beautiful riverside land and summer house of Agatha Christie, now a National Trust Property, well worth a visit. Greenway Quay, just under a mile from the Sail Loft offers a variety of ferry services, to Dartmouth, Totnes or across the river to Dittisham, where there is a brilliant waterside pub, The Ferry Boat Inn and a wonderful fresh local fish cafe. Dartmouth and Totnes are beautiful, historic towns which offer a variety of shops, boutiques, delis, pubs, cafes and restaurants galore serving fresh local seafood. Both packed with historic interest, with castles to visit & seaside to explore. If you prefer you can catch the Steam Train from Greenway Hault, a 10 minute walk from The Sail Loft holiday accommodation, and head straight to Dartmouth, Paignton or Torquay by train. Or for the more active person hire your own kayak or canoe locally and make your own way there or up river to the famous Sharpham Vineyard! There are numerous sandy beaches close by suitable for visiting on your family holiday and for swimming in the sea or exercising your dog in. The whole area is extremely dog friendly, ferrys, buses, trains, pubs and restaurants all allowing your furry friends!

The property is perfect for a family holiday, or holiday with friends, great for walking, boating & exploring the delights the South Hams and Torbay have to offer. There are numerous interesting tourist attractions close by, with tonnes of things to entertain the children and adults alike. We are always right next door in our reception and very happy to advise or help plan your days out.

Beautiful view, lovely accommodation

We had a great stay in this lovely cottage. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and well cared for. The views were stunning and the position was fabulous.

Excellent base to visit NT Greenway and Coleton Fishacre, coastal walks, steam railway, boat trips on the Dart, quirky Totnes, delightful Brixham and pretty Dittesham.

Very well stocked village shop and butcher 10 mins walk away, plus nice village pub and, a mile away, haunted Churston Court hotel which does good food and welcomes dogs and has a fantastic spooky atmosphere and good garden.

One week was not enough!!

Fantastic cottage

What an absolutely awesome park, great views, facilities and layout, the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We brought our 2 dogs with us and took full advantage of the fab walks and very dog friendly pubs, the local ferry was a joy too. The cottage itself was very plush and really comfortable.

I would highly recommend a stay at this cottage.

Special interest holidays:

The owners have their own deep water mooring on the River Dart, access 3 minutes from Greenway Quay, which may be available to use. Please call to ask details.

Coast/Beach:

The property is very near numerous different Devonshire sandy beaches great for family holidays as well as beaches suitable for dogs walking and dog swimming. Broadsands Beach is 1 mile away, 5 minute car drive. Elberry Cove is 1 mile, 5 minute drive.

Travel:

The nearest Railway Station is Paignton which has trains from London Waterloo or most destinations in the country when changing at Exeter or Newton Abbot. Totnes is 7 miles away, where the fast train from London Paddington passes through. The nearest airport is Exeter.

Distances:

The property is a 5 minute walk to the center of the village of Galmpton. Greenway Quay is just down the road and approximately 3 miles from Dartmouth by boat, or Kingswear is 5 miles by car and from there take the ferry to Dartmouth. Full of brilliant cafes, shops and restaurants. The seaside towns of Paignton and Torquay are 4 and 6 miles. Totnes is 7 miles - an historic town with beautiful buildings, boutiques and excellent restaurants. Local large Sainsburys & farm shop is c.3 miles away.

Further Details:

The property is extremely convenient as although it is set in an extremely peaceful rural, riverside location it has wonderful towns and shops extremely close by. The village store is extremely well stocked with fresh local vegetables, local cheeses and hams and a wonderful butchers next door. There is also a farm shop a 5 minute drive up the road, a large Sainsburys close by & a Petrol station at the top of the village. It is a very convenient location for family holidays in South Devon.

There is a dog walking area available by the property. The property has a spiral staircase leading to upstairs. The property may use the laundry room with large commercial washers and dryers of the touring park next door as well as the park shop and information area. Outside: The property has a decked outside area suitable for barbecuing and sitting outside. There is also a dog walking area that the property has access to as well as the 10 acres of the Touring Park. Utility Room: Separate entrance cloakroom but no utility room Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed Linen & Bath towels are included and all beds will be freshly made up.
