Welcome to Le Moulin du Buret, our charming 18th century Millhouse. Nestled in the heart of extensive woodland, gentle winding rivers, pretty meadows and beautiful landscaped gardens offering complete privacy for our guests. A warm sunny courtyard is the perfect setting for morning coffee, lunchtime aperitif, or evening BBQ - a tranquil haven where you are totally surrounded by nature. Enjoy the magnificent views & soothing sounds of the river (gated) with abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. We have regular visits from kingfishers and herons and occasional dawn sightings of deer. The interior has been designed to a high standard with our guest's comfort in mind - thick stone walls,logs fire, cosy snug and many of the historical features of the mill have been retained. The decor is beautifully clean and light & reflects the calm of the surrounding natural elements and textures. We provide quality bed linen & towels.

About Keith Gustafson

We are a retired couple living in Hexham, Northumberland. We bought Le Moulin in 2013 and have since updated the property, which has been used as a holiday let for several years. Le Moulin is a restored Water Mill in rural Brittany. We have fitted it out to a high standard as we would expect to find ourselves. We have provided comfortable beds quality linen and towels and new kitchen equipment. At Le Moulin you will find everything you need including WIFI, bikes, games for the kids, DVDs, BBQ and lots of outdoor seating.

It really is an idyllic spot to spend a relaxing break at any time of the year.

Why Keith Gustafson chose Dinan area

The area of Brittany south of St Malo down to Dinan and across to St Brieuc is known as 'the golden triangle'. It has its own microclimate and is typically about 5 degrees warmer than the UK throughout the year. We like the South of France but it is too far and too hot!

We bought The Mill because of its rural location in unspoilt countryside away from the traffic. It is however close to many amenities. The magnificent coast is about half an hours drive. There are the local towns of Dinan and Lamballe with their medieval streets and fabulous markets.

The local town of Plenee Jugon is 5 minutes away by car, and the lovely resort of Jugon Le Lacs is 10 minutes away.

Then there is St Malo, Cancalle and Rennes, all well worth a day visit.

What makes this cottage unique

We think like ourselves you will find Le Moulin very special. The property has several acres of its own lawns, meadows and woodlands, so there are plenty places to walk.

We looked at many properties before buying The Mill, but most were too near a main road or industrial site.

So - here you have a totally rural setting with the convenience and proximity of nice local towns. Plenee Jugon is a small town but has a cafe, restaurant, flower shop, bakery, school, garage, supermarket, town hall and church!

Notes on accommodation: The property is an old (restored) watermill. There is a millstream passing near the house with gated access. Small children should be supervised. The property has several acres of woodland and fields for walking and exploring. The extensive grounds are set on gentle slopes and we have a wonderful riverside walk (about 20 mins) on flat ground. Internet: The property has internet connection and WiFi (Orange FR) Although we do have Internet Broadband, this is rural France and we cannot guarantee there will always be a good connection. No refunds will be made in the event of internet failure. Outside: A wonderful tree lined driveway from a river bridge leads you to "Le Moulin" and its surrounding extensive gardens with fruit trees, flowers and shrubs. - some of the original Mill features have been retained including the remains of the waterwheel (no longer working) The sunny courtyard offers a table and chairs to seat up to 8 and a BBQ area which overlooks the river. There is a good selection of outside chairs, tables and loungers. In an outbuilding there ae bicycles and outdoor games available including boules & badminton. For those looking to explore the river and its surrounding areas, there is a beautiful 20 minute walk through pine trees alongside the meandering stream. There are many secluded picnic spots and wonderful vantage points to relax and enjoy the views. For those enjoying walks,we have our own shaded forest and huge meadows to explore - perfect for dogs. The gardens are totally private and secluded. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron & board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning is included. Laundry cost is 15 Euros per person to include all bedlinen and towels & tea towels. All linen and towels changed weekly. (Guests are welcome to bring their own towels and linen if desired) Other: Snug room with second TV, Freesat, DVD, games, library.

If you are interested in Le Moulin, please send an e-mail or telephone me so I can reserve your accommodation. I will send out a booking form which needs to be completed & returned with a 10% non refundable deposit. Once received this deposit automatically converts into a security / breakage deposit which is refunded within 2 weeks after your holiday. The full rental cost is due 8 weeks before arrival.
