Perfect location for surfing and swimming, only a minute's walk from Croyde's beautiful beach

Built in the 1930's by a retired Sea Captain who always wanted to see and hear the ocean, Little Breakers is a large semi-detached holiday house with four good sized bedrooms, three bathrooms, spacious lounge, dining room, and kitchen. Both upstairs and down, amazing views of the sea and sand dunes can be enjoyed, from Down End right across the sweep of the bay towards dramatic Baggy Point. Pop on your flip flops and take a walk to the beach - you can be there in a minute or two. The footpath which follows the coast for hundreds of miles in either direction is part of the world-famous South west Way. Or if you fancy a pint and a pasty, the village pubs and shops are approximately five minutes away. The lovely gardens surrounding the property give seclusion at the rear for a quiet drink whilst enjoying your book, and around the front there's a large lawn to enjoy a game of family cricket or football for the more energetic. Private off-road parking includes space for up to four cars. Just 10 minutes in the car will take you into the nearby village of Braunton for more eating options, including restaurants, pubs and the highly-recommended fish and chips. The British Museum of Surfing is located there, plus many surf shops. Croyde is well-positioned for visitors to drive to Barnstaple market town, the harbour town of Ilfracombe as well as stunning Clovelly, Woolacombe and many other Devon towns for an interesting change of scene. There are good bus services from the bus stop right outside Little Breakers at Down End if you prefer to leave the car at home too. There are so many activities to enjoy in the Croyde area, such as surfing, swimming and beach-combing along the shoreline. Many people have dreamed of becoming a surfer and experienced that wonderful sensation of rising to their feet and riding their first wave during an exciting lesson at a surf school based in Croyde. Or you may prefer to try horse riding, cycling along quiet lanes, climbing or bouldering on the cliffs, or even coasteering with an experienced guide.

About Richard and Jenny Windsor

Jenny & Richard Windsor are long-term residents of Croyde, and since the mid-1970's they have been welcoming visitors to this beautiful area in North Devon. After co-managing one of Croyde's holiday parks for several years, they bought their first holiday home in the early 80's and in l985 purchased a C16th thatched farmhouse in the village centre to run as a guest house. Later, they had the opportunity to move to "Breakers", which is opposite the beach, where they continue to run their comfortable, friendly B&B. The adjacent property "Little Breakers" was developed by the couple in 2008 and is now a popular choice for holidaymakers who want to be near the surf beach. Their other properties "Sunrising", "Driftwood", "Golden Hours" Beach Cottages are home from home for many regular guests.

Why Richard and Jenny Windsor chose North Devon

Ever since Jenny and Richard first came to work and live in Croyde village their dream was to live as close to the beach as possible. Richard has been an active surfer since the late 1960's and Jenny has regularly swum across the bay, as well as surfed a body board for many years. They are both very involved in surf lifesaving and Rich is a coastguard. When the chance to live right by the ocean, and run their holiday business there, presented itself it was a fantastic opportunity. Now they can share their holiday home with guests from all over the UK and abroad, and their visitors will also experience the magic of living by the sea.

What makes this house unique

For new and regular visitors to "Little Breakers" it is a lovely, relaxing location - perfectly placed for surfing, swimming and walking in wild and unspoilt beauty with the added advantage of being only a short stroll from Croyde village. Once you've arrived there's no need to drive! Very few properties are so close to the beach. Imagine slipping on your wetsuit for an early morning surf, or taking a couple of glasses and a chilled bottle of wine down to the sands to watch the sunset. From all the rooms, upstairs and down, the beach and ocean views are amazing. Even if you are feeling really lazy, you can still listen to the sound of the waves and enjoy the salty aroma when stretching out in the gardens of "Little Breakers".

Booking Notes:
When you have decided to book with us, please ring to make your booking, and we can take all your details and a deposit of £200 for each week you wish to book on a your debit card. You must fill in our booking form (download from our site) and forward it to us by email or post. Jenny will confirm your booking and receipt of the deposit by post.
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS IN LITTLE BREAKERS - EITHER INSIDE OR IN THE GARDENS. And, please no pets are allowed to stay in guests' vehicles.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day is FRIDAY - check-out time is no later than 11am on the departure day, and check-in time is 3pm on the arrival day. If you expect to be later than this on your arrival day please let us know.

Notes on prices:
The tariffs shown are for weekly bookings FRIDAY TO FRIDAY CHANGEOVER DAY

A £200 deposit per week booked is required. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is payable on, or before, the date specified which is 42 days prior to the start date of the holiday. If the holiday is cancelled on or after this date you are liable for the balance and there will be no refunds. For peace of mind we recommend cancellation insurance. Please request an insurance form from us.
