About the property

House in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England - An Original Fisherman’s Cottage A Ten-minute Walk From The Beach And Town Centre

Sea View Cottage is a delightful, cosy cottage situated in an enviable position in the seaside resort of Scarborough. It is an original fisherman’s cottage dating back to the 1850's and is full of character and charm. It is a ten-minute walk from the cottage to the award winning sandy beaches and promenade or to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. The spectacular sea views from the upstairs bedroom show you just how close you are to the sea front. The property has recently undergone a refurbishment into a modern, well-equipped cottage with tasteful decor and furnishings throughout. It is an ideal base for couples and families looking to explore this beautiful part of the Yorkshire Coast and is a haven for walkers and cyclists with lovely cliff top walks and cycle tracks located close by. The accommodation comprises of a lounge/kitchen/diner with electric fire, TV with HD/Freeview and built in DVD. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, slim line dishwasher, washing machine in outhouse. The bathroom includes a walk-in electric shower and bath with shower mixer tap. The second floor bedroom can be arranged as a super king or twin beds. Scarborough has everything you should need to have an enjoyable holiday to remember. The Sea Life Centre is a great family day out or you could take a trip out on one of the pleasure cruises, speed boats or fishing trips available. Scarborough Castle is only a few hundred yards from the property. The open air theatre, which is the largest in Europe has some excellent events going on throughout the year. There are numerous activities in Scarborough for all ages including swimming, golfing, fishing, indoor go carting, bowling and cinemas and lots more. A short drive will bring you to the historic town of Whitby from where you can board the North Yorkshire Moors steam train that will take you on a trip to remember through the glorious Esk Valley to Goathland and Pickering. The coastal resorts of Robin Hoods Bay, Sand send, Staithes and Runswick Bay are also within easy reach and well worth a day out.

great cottage

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house.Main moan is that we were asked to vacate by 10.30am which is v early when you are away for a weekend and was punctuated by the cleaner knocking the door at 10am.Could do with a map of Scarborough , instructions for the cooker - couldnt get the grill to work.

However lovely place and immaculate inside- great view and great location, near to castle and beach.Loved Scarborough!would go back.

Owner's Response: Really sorry you had a couple of problems. It seems the maps and instructions for the cooker have been removed, I'll ensure there are more provided. Checkout is normally 10am in order to be ready for the next guests. However, i try to be flexible with times if there are no guests following straight in, or the the cottage is ready early. Unfortunately it didn't work out on this occasion, very sorry.

Lovely cottage, great location

The cottage is in an excellent location and is really nice. It's a 5 minute walk to the seafront and takes even less time to walk to Scarborough Castle. We would definitely visit the cottage again

Lovely cottage, great location, everything you need

  • 4 of 5

Very nice cottage, clean and well equipped. In a great location to walk into Scarborough, we parked the car outside house with permit provided and didn't move it until we left. Amazing walks, weather and great places to eat. Would love to come again.

Really comfortable and well placed cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was in a great location in the old town near the church an d castle and equi distance from North and South bays. It was easy walking to get everywhere. Sea View was beautifully equipped and Andrea was very responsive to our questions. We would love to have stayed longer!
