About the property

House in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England - An Original Fisherman’s Cottage A Ten-minute Walk From The Beach And Town Centre

Sea View Cottage is a delightful, cosy cottage situated in an enviable position in the seaside resort of Scarborough. It is an original fisherman’s cottage dating back to the 1850's and is full of character and charm. It is a ten-minute walk from the cottage to the award winning sandy beaches and promenade or to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. The spectacular sea views from the upstairs bedroom show you just how close you are to the sea front. The property has recently undergone a refurbishment into a modern, well-equipped cottage with tasteful decor and furnishings throughout. It is an ideal base for couples and families looking to explore this beautiful part of the Yorkshire Coast and is a haven for walkers and cyclists with lovely cliff top walks and cycle tracks located close by. The accommodation comprises of a lounge/kitchen/diner with electric fire, TV with HD/Freeview and built in DVD. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, slim line dishwasher, washing machine in outhouse. The bathroom includes a walk-in electric shower and bath with shower mixer tap. The second floor bedroom can be arranged as a super king or twin beds. Scarborough has everything you should need to have an enjoyable holiday to remember. The Sea Life Centre is a great family day out or you could take a trip out on one of the pleasure cruises, speed boats or fishing trips available. Scarborough Castle is only a few hundred yards from the property. The open air theatre, which is the largest in Europe has some excellent events going on throughout the year. There are numerous activities in Scarborough for all ages including swimming, golfing, fishing, indoor go carting, bowling and cinemas and lots more. A short drive will bring you to the historic town of Whitby from where you can board the North Yorkshire Moors steam train that will take you on a trip to remember through the glorious Esk Valley to Goathland and Pickering. The coastal resorts of Robin Hoods Bay, Sand send, Staithes and Runswick Bay are also within easy reach and well worth a day out.

Lovely little cottage, nice and clean and well located

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend, the cottage was perfect for our needs. It is clean and well presented with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. The location was perfect for us as we walked up to the castle (about 10 minutes at the most) straight from the house. Through the upstairs windows you can down to the sea which is lovely. The only downside is the parking, but we knew there was no off street parking, and the owner provided a permit for the time we were there, we just had a short walk from car to house when it was harder to find a space. When packing up we stopped on the double yellows opposite which didn't seem to be a problem. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Lovely Cottage & Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It's close enough to the beach to be walkable and far enough away to be away from the prom to get a bit of peace and quiet if you want it. Plenty of places to eat and the take-away option is plentiful if you fancy a treat. Owner easy to get in touch with and very helpful. Recommend Alpamere indoor swimming centre if the weather turns for the worse. And Tricolo Italian restaurant for a very good meal...the early bird deals are great value.
