About the property

Villa in Saint Clar, Gers, Midi-Pyrenees, France - Stunning isolated location with full views of Beautifully Gascony

A home away from home. An authentic and fully modernized farmhouse situated on top of a hill in its own 23 hectare grounds. A large pool and garden blending into nature with several covered terraces to let the evenings pass in comfort. Large enough for big reunions and intimate enough for private space and enjoyment.

The local Chef can treat you on a sumptuous traditional Gascogne meal, or discover the plentiful excellent auberges and restaurants.

About Owners Enbosc

A true home away from home to recollect our thoughts, live our dreams and reunite with friends and family in a tranquil environment is what we aimed to create over 10 years ago in the beautiful Gers.

We love sharing our dream come true with our guests and will assure that you will experience the best holiday 'at home away from home'.

Owners Enbosc purchased this villa in 2003

Why Owners Enbosc chose Gers

The Gers is truly the French Toscane and more.

We are in love with the culture, the hospitality, the people, the villages, the history, the gorgeous food. It is easy to make friends and our neighbours are wonderfully helpful.

The house overlooks the region with stunning views and at the same time is absolutely private.

Access to Jazz in Marciac, skiiing the in Pyrenees or adventure walks are within reach.

Our children felt immediately at home, in particularly after they discovered the large climbing wall and forest at the bottom of the land.

Enbosc with its kitchen herb garden, fruit trees and truly expansive grounds, forest and private access are truly a place away from it all, great to recharge and catch up with friends and family.

Enbosc has been converted to a huge interior with lots of space for getting together or finding a quiet corner with terrasses all around, all with their onw atmosphere and the west terrace being the heart of everyone's summer; Breakfast under the cool cover, lunch at the long table and long drawn out dinners while the children play on the lawn and the sunset is more stunniing every evening.

What makes this villa unique

The villa is spaceous with plenty of rooms to read, work on the computer (free 10Mb WIFI), chat with friends, have a snooze or play a game, all without disturbing each other.

Floor heating and great ornamental fireplaces.

The focal point is the West Terrace with its large Balinese table sitting 16. It makes for a great family get-together and the sunsets are just amazing.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Enbosc for our long break. We are several families getting together and Enbosc was just more than ideal for this reunion: A large kitchen, plenty of dining possibilities from inside to under the stars, fabulous pool, large lawn for our kids to run around.

We spend a lot of time driving around and exploring the sites; castles, tree climbing, musea, cathedrals, skeltering, markets, village fetes and of vcourse restaurants, some of the best.

One night we had the local chef dishing up a great 5 course meal, and we ate like royals.

Stunning location, perfect for young families, friendly owners

  • 5 of 5

I have travelled to this region of France at least once a year for the last 18 years. This property by far, is the most beautiful. The architecture is an eclectic mix of Balinese minimalism, rustic French countryside and the covenience of modernism.

The location is unbeatable with 360 hilltop views stretching hundreds of kilometers. The pool is perched on a hill side and if you wake up for an early morning swim you'll see the light deflect in bright pink on the Pyrenees, some 200 km away.

The region is famous for its fine spirits, wine, cheeses, fruits, seafood (!), duck and of course - foie gras! So foodies from all backgrounds will be thoroughly spoiled.

Meanwhile, I'm always surrounded by friends, family and kids. One of the beauties of this place is that I can just let them do their own thing. Everyone has an entertainment opportunity. For young kids, the surrounding lands and forest (owned by the estate) provide an opportunity for exploration I was never afforded in my youth.

It turns out that within the forests of Enbosc resides one of the most famous bouldering walls in France. So amateur or experienced rock climbers will surely love this aspect of the house.

Overall I couldn't recommend this experience more, I have been time and time and will be there if you don't book it!

A spacious property with plenty of room for our large family, overlooking beautiful countryside.

  • 4 of 5

The property was very much as described, we were pleasantly surprised but how much space there was in the reception rooms and the bedrooms were well laid out with good bathrooms.

The caretaker was there when we needed him to repair the oven and provide extra linen.

The pool was a good size and sparkling, well maintained by a contractor.

We would go again and recommend the house to others. Around and about, we enjoyed the public dinners in the square in Saint Clar provided by local producers and shopping in Lectoure was very appealing.

The countryside with its 'Bastides' and well maintained farms is a delight.

Beautiful home in fabulous setting

  • 5 of 5

A very beautifully furnished and finished house in the northern Gers. Accommodated 11 of us (2 families) happily. We particularly enjoyed the outside terrace which was perfect for sharing meals and watching some amazing sunsets (and the occasional electric storm!). The pool was a good size and was enjoyed by all but sadly lacked any shade around it (and the parasols wouldn't keep still in the breeze) so it was not always comfortable to sit around the pool for long. However small niggle with a lovley house. Owners and caretaker were extremely helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommend.

Great Gascon farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at En Bosc in June / July 2016. We went with a number of friends and had a total of 8 adults and 6 children. We had a great time there. The villa was very secluded and private. It was around a 10 minute drive to the nearest town (Saint Clar), which had nearly everything we needed. The house was very spacious - the bedrooms (and beds) were all big and the house fitted our party well. The swimming pool was big and kept very clean - a bit chilly at the start but pretty warm by the end and good for the kids as it had steps in the shallow end. We visited a lot of the surrounding towns and tried lots of different wine. The kitchen was well equipped and big with a separate dining room and a large west facing veranda. We ate in every night and got a great view of the sunset every evening. I'd certainly go again if I was in that part of France.
