New for 2017, woodland adventure playground.

Large covered terrace with comfortable seating overlooking the pool area. The property is south facing with direct access to the covered terrace and swimming pool area from the kitchen. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation in a stunning location then this is the property for you. Free WiFi. There are two seating areas on the terrace both with comfortable sofa's and chairs overlooking the pool and private garden.

Covered terrace also has a large dinning table and chairs seating 12 people.

Games room slate bed pool table, darts, table tennis, pin ball machine.

Large open plan kitchen with feature crystal chandelier and fireplace that houses a wood burning stove, French style kitchen with arga style gas double oven, dishwasher and American fridge freezer with ice dispenser. Large solid oak dinning table with seating for 12.

Comfortable sofa's and chairs and large flat screen TV with English channels. Two large French patio windows flooding the room with light and giving easy access to the covered terrace and swimming pool.

Utility room with washing machine, dryer & WC.

Farmhouse pantry with old original bread oven (not in use) giving plenty of storage /shelving.

Grand entrance hall with solid oak staircase leading to the 1st floor bedrooms. Just off the hallway is a second sitting room with original fireplace, plenty of seating with a large flat screen TV, again with many English channels. Light and airy room with patio windows leading out onto the garden and driveway. Downstairs double bedroom with patio doors, and a beautiful en suite shower room and toilet.

Downstairs bedroom 2. Double bedroom with 2 velux windows and a small window, large fitted wardrobe with a shower room next door and separate WC.

Second staircase leading to 2 large double size bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a single antique style bed,

Bedroom 2 also has a double bed and a single, extra beds can be arranged. These two bedrooms are very spacious with low feature beamed ceiling.

Master bedroom and bathroom, very large double bedroom and dressing room with high vaulted beamed ceiling, comfortable king size bed and double French windows overlooking woodland and the meadow. Next door to the bedroom is the bathroom with WC, walk in shower and a bath.

Next to the bedroom there is a reading room with seating area, this room would be perfect if you are travelling with a baby or toddler as it is just next to the main bedroom, cot available on request.

The farmhouse has been fully refurbished to a high standard was new to the rental market for 2104, the owners live here throughout the winter and in the summer months move into their small gite which is totally separate from the farmhouse. La Chenaie is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a holiday with friends or family, there is plenty of space for two or even three families.

We made the move to France 8 years ago with our son Jamie who was 9 years old at the time and have never looked back. When we lived in England we had our own retail business and found the life very stressful and found we didn't have time to spend with our son. So in 2006 we made the huge decision to make the move and sold our house and business. The life here is very slow paced and relaxed, the weather is much better than England, and when guests ask would we ever go back our answer is a definite no....

Why Roma Howson chose Perigord Blanc

We found our perfect home near the small village of Sorges, Sorges is famous throughout France for it's Truffles, there is a bakers, co op, tabac shop, church and the famous restaurant the Auberge de la truffe. It is a tranquil place yet only 20 mins drive to the Medieval city of Perigueux, which is one of our favourite city's, the property is within easy access to all the attractions and about a 1 hour drive to the Dordogne river, yet offers you the peace and quiet to escape the hustle and bustle. There are 3 villages all within 4km from the property for the essentials and a 10 - 15 min drive to the large hypermarkets.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The property boasts a swimming pool, games room with pool table, table tennis, darts, pin ball. The property is set in 42 acres of land with woodland walks and seating areas to sit and watch the wildlife. Deer and birds of prey are seen on a regular basis.

We have a 30 target field Archery course which is great fun for the older children and adults (not suitable for under 12 years) arrow making is available on request.

Badminton, football, swings, see saw and plenty of space for the children to have fun, and as we all know when the kid's are happy so are the parents.

What a fantastic holiday! The property, location and facilities exceeded our expectations. Glenn and Roma were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable holiday. The archery and pool was fantastic and enjoyed by all the group. We enjoyed our holiday that much that have already booked to return next year!

A stunning property

A beautiful property set in beautiful surroundings and well placed for many of the Dordogne's attractions. The property is immaculate and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The owners, Roma and Glenn, were incredibly hospitable and very welcoming. Highly recommened!

Amazing farmhouse in Dordogne Countryside

We have just returned from the most amazing week in the Dordogne at La Chenaie. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures convey and it was the perfect relaxing retreat for our party of 4 adults and 5 children. Whilst set in the most tranquil countryside the house is close to a range of tourist attractions and supermarkets. The house is stylish and immaculate with wonderful hosts. The children loved the archery and games room/field and we all enjoyed the warm pool with both shade and sunshine to suit all. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return in the near future.
