The magic of this property comes in part from its location and from its architecture: a large, light and airy space with windows on all sides, high ceilings, interesting paintings and unusual lighting. In the gardens are several areas to enjoy a meal outside--under an oak tree, on a patio behind the house, next to the ponds and beside the pool. There are places to hide away on little benches and even a spot with chairs to watch the sun go down. Although there are other houses on the hill, privacy is guaranteed, and use of the pool is for the tenants only. There are many distractions to be had nearby. The medieval city of Carcassonne is 30 minutes away; the Mediterranean and all its glories is an hour at most; Cathar castles reach to infinity on hill tops; the Aude river offers many kinds of water sports; and walks, difficult and easy, are all around. At 500 meters, the temperature is always pleasant.
Robert is French and an architect/sculptor. He built the houses on Le Roc some ten years ago, hence many personal and unusual details.
Irene is English and a writer and has lived at Le Roc for the past 6 years.
