A wonderful property in a beautiful location!!

  • 5 of 5

My partner and my 2 children have just returned from a long weekend stay. What can I say! We had the most amazing time, certainly helped by the glorious weather. Chris and Tracy (The owners) were extremely hospitable and the house had everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend it and will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you!

First class

  • 5 of 5

First impressions of this property were lasting and very impressive. It looked lovely from the outside and inside did not disappoint. It was bright and airy, every facility was available and the decor was very in keeping. The intimate touches included were much appreciated and the overall position in a beautiful rural setting forced us to relax!

Chris and Tracy were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and intend returning next year

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. The weather was fantastic for your stay. From our conversations you were both interested in the d day beaches and museums associated with the wars. We are pleased you found the gite comfortable and found time to relax in the garden. Look forward to seeing you both next year. Chris, Tracy and Hector the Boxer Dog

Lovely Gite

  • 4 of 5

I stayed for a few days around the New Year period, with my daughter, her husband and their 2 young boys. We all were very happy to be in this warm, clean and very well arranged house. Although small, it didn't feel that way because of the well designed kitchen/dining area, with lots of light despite the continuously grey sky, and we like having the opening to the lounge so the boys could play there and still be with us. We loved the fireplace, with ample provision of wood. Again the bathroom is very clean and well designed. There was plenty of storage in the bedrooms. So overall we had a lovely stay, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful.

One or two suggestions for improvement would be:

In the children's bedroom, the bed I was sleeping on was very creaky, and the mattress wasn't very comfortable.

In the bathroom the extractor fan was not working (or maybe is there a switch we were not aware of?)

In the kitchen, it would be nice to have one larger saucepan that fits the big burner on the electric cooker, and a frying pan that is not scratched.

This said, I would not hesitate to highly recommend this gite to anyone.

Wonderful, well equipped Gite in picturesque Normandy

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were greeted by Chris & Tracey who had left a lovely welcome pack in the fridge of fresh local produce and delicious bread. The gite was perfect a real chocolate box house with a lovely flat garden with games for our young daughter. It was very well equipped with every possible utensil for cooking. We enjoyed oysters, mussels, local cheeses and many bottles of wine relaxing in the garden. The local village was 5 mins drive away with a lovely bakery and restaurant. Everyone was extremely friendly and patient with our attempt at French. The nearby Intermarche was excellent for shopping. We visited the D Day beaches & museums as well as beautiful Honfleur & Deauville . There's plenty to do within an hours drive. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this spotless, beautiful, quaint gite to everyone .Thankyou Tracey & Chris

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review of our gite and Normandy. The village of Lieurey has two great bakers, butcher, small shop, many bars and a very good restaurant. There is also a Carrefour contact on the road approaching the village. It was great to see the garden being used for your family Olympics and the morning badminton competition. Look forward to seeing you again and enjoy the rest of your summer. Chris and Tracy

Owner's Response: Thank you Paul and Sue for your lovely review. Your two weeks at our gite the weather was very good for you. You did travel most of Normandy from Mont Saint Michel, Versailles, cycling through small villages along the Seine. Also the markets and brocantes, what bargains and beautiful items you purchased, a larger car is necessary for your next visit. Hector is pleased to meet and greet guests. Chris and Tracy

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay at this wonderful gite with great hosts Chris and Tracy. So peaceful, rural and very well equipped. Handy for visiting so many places of beauty and interest. We finally made friends with Hector the boxer dog and it's great to see the horses and of course Matilda the donkey. Such a welcoming couple who gave us great advice on out of the way places to visit that were new to us. We had a great time again and will be back very soon we hope. Thank you both.

Owner's Response: Thank you Barbara and Alan for your great review. It was lovely to see you both again, the weather was so hot when you arrived and continued to be warm for your stay. Hector the boxer loves to meet guests (watch out for the tail). We are still finding many places to visit up by the Seine using the little shuttle ferries (great they are free of charge). So pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you both again, have a good summer. Chris, Tracy and Hector.
