Wonderful, well equipped Gite in picturesque Normandy

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were greeted by Chris & Tracey who had left a lovely welcome pack in the fridge of fresh local produce and delicious bread. The gite was perfect a real chocolate box house with a lovely flat garden with games for our young daughter. It was very well equipped with every possible utensil for cooking. We enjoyed oysters, mussels, local cheeses and many bottles of wine relaxing in the garden. The local village was 5 mins drive away with a lovely bakery and restaurant. Everyone was extremely friendly and patient with our attempt at French. The nearby Intermarche was excellent for shopping. We visited the D Day beaches & museums as well as beautiful Honfleur & Deauville . There's plenty to do within an hours drive. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this spotless, beautiful, quaint gite to everyone .Thankyou Tracey & Chris

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review of our gite and Normandy. The village of Lieurey has two great bakers, butcher, small shop, many bars and a very good restaurant. There is also a Carrefour contact on the road approaching the village. It was great to see the garden being used for your family Olympics and the morning badminton competition. Look forward to seeing you again and enjoy the rest of your summer. Chris and Tracy

Owner's Response: Thank you Paul and Sue for your lovely review. Your two weeks at our gite the weather was very good for you. You did travel most of Normandy from Mont Saint Michel, Versailles, cycling through small villages along the Seine. Also the markets and brocantes, what bargains and beautiful items you purchased, a larger car is necessary for your next visit. Hector is pleased to meet and greet guests. Chris and Tracy

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay at this wonderful gite with great hosts Chris and Tracy. So peaceful, rural and very well equipped. Handy for visiting so many places of beauty and interest. We finally made friends with Hector the boxer dog and it's great to see the horses and of course Matilda the donkey. Such a welcoming couple who gave us great advice on out of the way places to visit that were new to us. We had a great time again and will be back very soon we hope. Thank you both.

Owner's Response: Thank you Barbara and Alan for your great review. It was lovely to see you both again, the weather was so hot when you arrived and continued to be warm for your stay. Hector the boxer loves to meet guests (watch out for the tail). We are still finding many places to visit up by the Seine using the little shuttle ferries (great they are free of charge). So pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you both again, have a good summer. Chris, Tracy and Hector.

One of the best gites we have stayed in.

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely gite - very well equipped with lots of little touches that make it feel very homely. Chris and Tracy are very welcoming and are on hand to offer advice and help if needed. There is lots to do in the area and further afield. Alternatively it is very nice to spend a few hours relaxing in the garden. If you are thinking of coming to this part of Normandy don't hesitate to book this gite - you won't be disappointed.

Great base for cycling and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

There were 3 of us, aiming to get 5 days good cycling in which we did thanks to the fantastic weather. Coming back to the gite after a day in the saddle was a pleasure. The spec and cleanliness of the cottage was very high and the gardens impeccable. We bought a few things on the way from Dieppe but we needn't have as there was bread cheese and other food waiting for us. There is also a lot of the necessities such as washing up liquid, cooking oils, salt pepper etc and the kitchen as a whole was very well supplied with every cooking utensil you would ordinarily need (we cooked there very night, including the very good charcoal BBQ). Toiletries in the shower room were top notch. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated and of a good size. Chris and Tracy were very helpful and friendly; we had a few beers with them and they were excellent company. Lieurey is a great village and the surrounding roads and countryside second to none. Very disappointed when our 5 days were up and would definitely come back again without hesitation.

Owner's Response: Hello Simon, David and Matthew Thank you for your great review. You are our first group of cyclists and we could not believe the kms you did each day. The weather turned out to by very dry and warm and the evenings stayed warm for you to bbq and relax. We try to provide a few items for guests arrival so they don't have to rush out to the shops. Look forward to seeing you all again. Chris and Tracy

Fantastic Gite.

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant stay at the Gite. Everything you would need is there. The garden was fantastic with swingball, badminton and loads of room for us to play football with our ten year old son. Bit of a drive to the landing beaches which is what we came for but it didn't detract from what a good stay we had. Would definitely return and recommend.
