The Annex at Barrow Cottage is a single story extension to the cottage, with use of a large garden and paddock. It is situated in one of the loveliest parts of the Isle of Wight set amidst rolling green fields and close to the picturesque village of Godshill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is great walking country, surrounded by footpaths, yet is still just a ten minute drive to the beaches of Shanklin and Ventnor. It's great for families and for couples who just want to relax.

Notes on accommodation: The property has recently undergone a total refurbishment. The second bedroom can be arranged either as two single beds or as bunk beds as required. The owners live on site. Outside: Outside there are two acres of grounds including a paddock. The owners live on site and are keen gardeners. The huge field at the back of the property is usually home to a herd of cows. A footpath runs adjacent to the property giving excellent walking access to the surrounding countryside. For cyclists we can provide secure overnight storage for bikes Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedlinen are provided though to respect the environment they will only be changed weekly.

Lovely place to stay.

We had a lovely short break here. The cottage annex was really nice and comfy and had everything we needed. Chris and Nicky were really friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend.

Perfect long weekend for a family of fossil-hunting beach lovers :-)

We have just returned from a long weekend at this cottage. We had such a great stay! Chris and Nicky were welcoming and friendly and the annex had everything that we needed.

Our two boys (1 and 5) loved the garden and trampoline.

It's perfectly located- in the deepest countryside but really close to the beaches and local towns.

Our favourite day out was to Compton bay. We happened upon a fossil tour which we soon joined and spent the day collecting various beach treasures and posing on top of dinosaur footprints. Check out 'Island Gems' for other tours in the future as they really were fab.

Top tip for the island in general is to take cash for the parking machines. We are used to using a card to pay and were stuck on a couple of occasions by not having coins.

Would really recommend this cottage to anyone!

Absolutely fantastic weekend!

We had a great weekend. Cottage is everything we hoped for. Clean, modern and very comfortable. Nicky and Chris were lovely and helpful. Our two girls LOVED their garden and said that was the best bit about our weekend. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Brilliant, beautiful cottage for kids and walking.

Chris and Nicky were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival and throughout. The property was beautiful, modern and immaculate and Chris and Nicky added touches like providing tea bags, coffee, soap and washing up liquid, which is not always provided in self catering accommodation - a welcome touch. Our 9 year old boys LOVED it. Plenty of space to play and run around. Chris and Nicky put up some games for them in the garden.

A great place for walks with public footpaths alongside the property. Stunning views during the local walks. Walking distance from Godshill too. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a brilliant and memorable weekend Chris and Nicky.

Ideal location for a walking holiday on the Isle of Wight

Great base for getting around the island. There is a bus stop outside the cottage so you can leave the car and take the bus.

There is a local shop that sells essential foods just a 2 minute walk away. The property is also on a main bus route, a mile from the village of Godshill with its pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.
