3 bedroom villa with private pool. 2 bathrooms. Comfortably sleeps 6. Tranquil rural setting just outside the small village of Murla (population 600 approx). Casa Victoria sits on an individual plot amidst groves of almond and orange trees. Despite its idyllic rural location the property is within easy reach of local amenities in the nearby towns of Alcalali, Parcent, Jalon and Orba. It is only 30 minutes from the bustling port town of Denia, well known for its shopping, restaurants, tapas bars and marina. Traveling time from Alicante Airport is just over an hour. Casa Victoria is south-facing and the front of the property benefits from the sun throughout the day which can be enjoyed around the 8 x 4 m private pool in complete privacy as the property is not overlooked or from the naya - or glazed balcony - which can be opened up to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine or enclosed to form a snug conservatory from which to enjoy the spectacular views in comfort during winter or on the rare colder days. The property is on a single storey with only a very few steps so is suitable for all ages. To the rear of the property you will find a shaded dining area in a walled courtyard - somewhere to escape the Spanish sun - as well as an area for drying clothes, barbecuing etc. Casa Victoria boasts its own small paddock alongside the property - somewhere to let the kids or the pets run around in safety. The property is alarmed and has air-conditioning in the bedrooms and lounge. The private drive provides ample parking including a covered car port.

We're based in Stratford upon Avon in the UK and love the Warwickshire countryside. We're keen runners and cyclists - and Lizzie loves her horses, I love my tennis.

We fell in love with Casa Victoria when we saw it in the summer of 2013. It's so peaceful and we couldn't wait to get out on our bikes on the beautiful lanes around Murla, Orba and Parcent.

So we took the plunge and bought it in February 2014.

Since then we've spent quite a few weeks over there, enjoying discovering the local villages on our bikes.

Fantastic Villa

We had seen the villa from the outside during our visit to the area in 2015 and thought it looked nice, so we booked it there and then. The owners communication has been very good.

When we entered the villa it was fantastic, lovely decoration and furnishings and very clean with all the untesills you needed. Meet & Greet Service was very good and helpful.

The outside areas to are very nice with a walled courtyard to the rear of the villa to sit and have your breakfast or lunch out of the hot sun (35 degrees most of the time)

There is also a covered Neya where you can sit with the doors open but it dose get hot in there when its been closed up 50+ degrees, but I should imagine its very nice in there during the cooler months and watching the colours and shadows change.

There is a BBQ but did not use it as we ate out in the evenings as its so cheap for the menu of the day. Depending where you eat between 15 -19 euros, for a 4 or 5 course meal. We also have a number of friends who live in the valley so it was good to socialise.

Pool area again is very good with sun loungers and umbrellas. The pool was most welcome to cool down from the heat.

We loved the villa & location so much we have booked again for next year.

The Jalon valley is such a beautiful area. But dont tell everyone we need to keep it a secret so as not to entice the masses.

Hopefully we will be living in the valley within the next 2 years

Liz and I have been travelling to this part of Spain every year for many years since some close friends relocated to Monte Pego. We discovered the Jalon valley and the peaceful lanes and valleys during a villa holiday in 2010 and the more we saw the more we felt at home there. We like the area because despite being only an hour from Alicante airport and 30 minutes from Denia it feels a little of the beaten track - part of real Spain. The climate is excellent, the scenery stunning and varied and as we like cycling the quiet, well-maintained roads are just the job.

The house is built on the site of an old ruin which allowed it to be built on rural land. As a result it sits on an individual plot surrounded by almond and orange groves with uninterrupted views across the valley to Parcent and the mountains beyond. Not being on an urbanisation the property is not overlooked and is truly private and tranquil. Its location at one side of the valley means it is not - like many properties - built on the side of a mountain - so the property is easily accessible without having to climb a long, steep flight of steps and is all on one floor. A host of small Spanish villages are within easy reach offering all necessary amenities and excellent and varied restaurants, local produce and weekly markets. The port of Denia is within easy reach with its excellent shopping and restaurants as well as the busy marina. Tennis and golf are only a few minutes away at La Sella - which also has a horse-riding centre. And there is a world-class equestrian centre at Oliva where European dressage and show-jumping competitions are held regularly.
