Luxury Villa in Village Centre, Private Pool, Stunning Sea Views - see our VIDEO

Overview

Property

Updated: 04-Dec-2016
Villa in Peyia, Coral Bay, Paphos, Cyprus - In A Secluded Location With Glorious Gardens, Courtyard, Grapevine, Old Village Bread Oven And BBQ

Architect designed to our specification, the villa is high on the hillside catching the cooling breezes blowing up from the sea. Almost every room has French windows opening on to large, deep balconies. This gives masses of shade in the heat of high summer as well as allowing our guests to get maximum benefit from the amazing views. Yet the pool and gardens, which are south facing, are bathed in sunlight all day long. A new villa has been incorporated into an old village stone house (formerly The Shoemakers House) that has been fully modernised throughout. Thus you will enjoy both the old world charm of village life and all the modern conveniences of today. In addition, this 'bringing together' of the two buildings means that there is masses of space and plenty of separation between rooms. The accommodation is thus ideal for couples who want to share, those who might be thinking of going on holiday with older parents or families with teenagers. TO SEE OUR SHORT VIDEO, SCROLL THROUGH ALL THE PICTURES ABOVE, THEN CLICK ON THE ARROW WHICH APPEARS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SECOND LAST FRAME. TO SEE THE PHOTO ALBUM WITH 50+ EXTRA PICS CLICK ON THE ARROW IN THE LAST FRAME.

You will enjoy our lovely gardens, the warmth of the pool in the summer, swimming at night, sunbathing all day, chatting with the Cypriot neighbours, taking an evening stroll down to the restaurants and bars in the village square. Everything you will need for a memorable holiday is right on your doorstep. Indeed some of our guests have been known not to bother with a hire car, as they have found all they need for a relaxing holiday without leaving the village. However for those who like to explore the country Peyia is ideally placed. It is just 5 minutes in the car down to a choice of the best sandy bays in western Cyprus as they lie on the coast immediately in front of the villa. Slightly further afield (just 10 minutes drive) are more beaches, rock swimming, sea caves, cliffs, the local fishing harbour and the entrance to the magnificant Akamas National Park with its wild, remote hills and beaches. Here you can really get away from it all and, if you know where to go, find a beach that you will share with no one but the turtles.

We have been associated with Cyprus for over 40 years, having lived in 4 different places in different parts of the island. The Villa Iptamena is where we have brought our children on holiday all their lives. It is therefore a warm, welcoming place that feels like home. It is equipped to live in in comfort - we sometimes spend the whole winter in residence ourselves. It is our aim to share this with our guests and we try to offer the best possible holiday experience that we can. It is thus a matter of great pleasure to us when we see people coming back time after time (The record is held by one couple who have enjoyed no less than 13 holidays with us so far.) You will be more than welcome particularly should you try to beat that record. Visit our website at www.cyprusholiday.comze.com

About the Owner

We have been in this wonderful village for 40 years, having been here longer than any other foreigners. You need only ask for 'Mr Peter' or 'Mr Peter's House' and the locals will usually know exactly what it is that you are talking about. Our children have grown up here and think of it as their home - even though we have never stayed more than a few months at a time. Originally we bought a little old village stone house. However 10 years ago we added the new villa and the pool. So now our guests are able to enjoy both the old world charm of village life and all the conveniences of modern living.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"This villa is the one to pick in Peyia. I'ts the views you notice first, absolutly breathtaking, then the villa itself has everything you could possibly need. The gardens are beautiful and gets all day sunshine for the kids in the pool. The villa is spotless."

"Villa very very well equipped. Owners are very informative, helpful and very professional. Felt like I was an extra in Mama Mia as the villa is extremely quaint. We have already booked again for 2014 and cannot wait to return ! If its peace and quiet, but near enough to everything you need and want then visit the Villa Iptamena."

"Got everything you could possibly need. Really nice villa, gorgeous views, gardens and very private pool - with disco lights! Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and it is not in the middle of a tourist trap."

"Great location near to all amenities but still very quiet. Coral Bay only 5 minutes by car. Villa is very spacious with everything you need for a great holiday."

Location

From the Owner

Peyia was the village that all Cypriots wanted to live in with its ideal climate, friendly people and laid back atmosphere. Although mass tourism has come to other parts of the island, this place still retains its charm. You will have the experience of living amongst local country people if you stay in our villa. The village is right on the edge of the National Park with its wild rugged beauty. Here you will find a deserted hilltop to picnic under a carob tree or a sandy beach all to yourself - apart from the greenback turtles. But above all it is the view. Laid out before you as you lounge on the verandah is 15 miles of glorious Mediterranean coastline.

Coast/Beach:

The 2 sandy beaches of Coral Bay are immediately in front of the village and 5 minutes drive away. The entrance to Akamas, the National Park, is 10 minutes drive and sandy beaches there can be reached in about 20 minutes. These are often empty during the week, even in the summer. There are also other little sandy coves closer to the villa and many places for good rock swimming.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Paphos (40 minutes drive). We recommend picking up your hire car there and we provide directions, including a sketch map, to make it an easy journey along the coast to the villa.

Cyprus is an island to be explored by car and car hire is cheap (We offer a 20% discount with a local company). However if you want a holiday in the sun by the pool, a car is not needed. Everything you will want is within walking distance and public transport is also available close by.

Coral Bay is 5 minutes

Kathikas, the nearest mountain village (2000ft) is 15 minutes

Paphos is 30 minutes

Limassol is 60 minutes

Further Details:

You will find most things in Cyprus very easy and often quite familiar.

<> Electricity is the same voltage as UK and they use UK square 3 pin plugs like us.

<> We can arrange to have you met at the airport (extra charge).

<> Most UK food brands are available in the shops in the village.

<> You have free broadband and wifi in the villa to keep in touch with the world.

<> Your mobile phone will work OK and reception is generally good.

<> When reception is good you can sometimes get Radio 4 on the radio in the kitchen.

<> We will be sending you our 10 page booklet telling you all about the villa, the village and the local area

<> We provide a complimentary get you in pack of basic foods on arrival to see you through to breakfast the next day.

Facilities

From the Owner

Most unusually for rentals in Peyia our villa is right in the heart of the village. You are only a short walk away down a hill to the village square with its bars, cafes and restaurants. As well as the coffee shops and tavernas there is a good range of local shops. Immediately below the village is Coral Bay with its sandy beaches and rocky coastline. The village bus will get you down here every 30 minutes from the road below the villa if you don't want to take your car. Your neighbours are all local village families. Most speak English and will always be pleased to offer advice and help to our guests.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: All rooms are air conditioned (included in the price) and have winter heating plus ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The master bedroom suite opens onto a paved courtyard with a grapevine growing above it. Both other bedrooms have furnished balconies. The large living room balcony has a dining table and chairs for six for outdoor dining. The dining room balcony is equipped with sun loungers and coffee tables. Additional table and chairs are provided by the pool - used mainly for breakfast. Security: access to the villa is by a combination lock; a wall safe is provided for your valuables. We provide a complimentary get-u-in pack of basic provisions and a 10 page booklet of descriptions, directions and suggestions. We can arrange airport collection and provide advice on the cheapest air fares and car hire. Go to our website at www.cyprusholiday.talktalk.net to see more details, our video and a picture album containing 60 photos. Outside: Designed for outdoor living, the large balconies are well equipped. In addition there are sun beds by the pool and (usually) blow up lilos etc in the pool. The gardens are a riot of colour (see photos) with places to sunbathe as well as a cool shady spot under a very large nut tree. At night the garden and all the balconies are equipped with lights and there is disco lighting in the pool - all that's needed for that midnight swim. The old village bread oven in the courtyard has been modified for use as a barbeque area. This comes with all the necessary utensils, but sadly you have to provide your own kebab meat. The place is looked after by retired British ex-pats who live nearby. There is a cleaner, a pool man, and 2 gardeners who you may see something of whilst you are there. In addition you may notice that an automatic irrigation system waters the garden every evening. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen, including towels (but excluding beach towels is included). Weekly cleaning. Other: The indoor dining area has a large oval dining table with seating for 8, a welsh dresser and bookcases with 150 books. The villa is also suited to elderly/infirm, having a self-contained downstairs suite and a separate WC/shower room
