Mobile Home / Caravan in Les Amiaux, Saint Jean de Monts, Vendee, Pays de la Loire, France - Peaceful Location Within Walking Distance Of Superb, Sandy Beaches

The Willerby mobile home is situated on a private plot in a small cul de sac, within easy reach of all of the amenities that the site has to offer. It is in a sunny position with both paved and grassed areas. Patio furniture, gas barbecue and gazebo are provided. Les Amiaux is a family friendly site offering easy access to a safe, sandy beach ( approx 900 metres ). On site facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool with outdoor flumes, an outdoor pool and children's water play area as well as basketball, football and tennis courts. There is a shop, bar, restaurant and take away facilities on the site. Internet access is available at a daily/weekly cost in the bar area.Other facilities include a launderette and bicycle hire. St. Jean de Monts is a popular holiday resort with supermarkets, weekly market and a night market most nights. It also offers a wide range of restaurants situated alongside the attractive promenade and beautiful sandy beach.

I am a retired teacher living in Oxfordshire with my husband,a retired lecturer, now a part time,self employed plumber. We spent many holidays camping in France with our children and we have a great love of the Country. We loved staying on the well equipped,family friendly sites that France has to offer. We first visited the Vendee in 2005 and loved the beaches, interesting towns and villages and were especially impressed with the amenities available at Les Amiaux. In 2006 we bought a 2 bed mobile home on the site and in 2009 we bought the adjacent 3 bed home. We love relaxing in the area around our home and having the opportunity to use all of the family friendly amenities the site has to offer. Now that we are retired we spend as much time as possible at Les Amiaux exploring the Vendee.

We recently had a fantastic holiday, staying in an amazing caravan in a great location. And yes, from the number of superlatives you can see just how good we thought it was!

My wife, our 2 year old son and I thought the caravan couldn't have offered more. Everything we needed or wanted was immediately to hand, from paddling pools on a hot day, to a football to kick around, to a BBQ for a lite lunch, it was all there. The fact that the pitch gave both sun and shade was particularly useful with a little one. The caravan was surprisingly spacious and our son especially loved staying in his own bedroom!

The Les Amiaux Site was equally well suited, the choice of both indoor and outdoor swimming pools gave us options but in truth our little boy was always drawn towards the excellent children's paddling pool. The shop offered all the essentials including fresh croissants for breakfast, and the facilities were always spotlessly clean. The addition of being able to use the site's shower and toilet block was very useful at times.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend your caravan and we thank you for letting us use it.

A very homely caravan

Joan, we had a lovely time staying in your well equipped caravan just in the past 2 weeks. As you know we have a daughter aged 12 who was with us and it was her first time experiencing a caravan with a TV and satellite which was great to have when she wanted to relax after spending so much time at the pool during the day. You had a lovely selection of films, games and books.

You had 3 lovely bicycles which we used every day and it became a very simple way for us all to exercise.

We met Maureen and Gordon who were a delight and very approachable when information was required.

Overall it was a lovely 2 weeks in the Vendee and the comfort of the accommodation was a big part of it.

* What I would say to some sun worshipers is that it is a very shaded plot which might not suit everyone. But we loved it!

Our lovely holiday

The caravan was well equipped, it was clean and in a nice position. It was very well maintained with lots of extras, with books ,games ,a tv and a DVD player. We were greeted by Maureen and her husband who were lovely and very helpful. I would recommend this caravan. We particularly liked the swimming pools, table tennis, tennis and the bar. The restuarant and take away on sight was good too

Having decided that the Vendee was an ideal place to spend our holidays we decided to buy a mobile home at Les Amiaux. The area is easily accessed from all of the Channel ports and the road network is excellent.Once at the site you are assured of a great holiday,very close to fantastic beaches and interesting towns and villages. The are is conducive to walking and cycling and there are many interesting place just a short drive away.St. Jean de Monts is a wonderful resort with supermarkets, weekly food market, a regular night market and a vast choice of restaurants. There is a fantastic beach offering lots of activities with an amazing promenade with cycleways and free parking. The area and the site offer the visitor a relaxing yet interesting holiday opportunity.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There is a large blue flag beach 5 mins. drive from the site with adequate free parking.

It is also accessible on foot or bicycle through the pine forests. ( approx 15 mins).

The beaches in St. Jean de Monts and Notre Dame de Monts also offer safe bathing and wide promenades. Beach activities are available with refreshments and free parking.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Nantes approx. 1 hour away (70km).

Ferry ports: St. Malo approx 3 hours. Cherbourg approx 5 hours. Caen approx 4 hours.

Railway station : Challans 15 mins.

Distances:

St. Jean de Monts - 2 kms.

Notre Dame de Monts - 4kms

Challans - 15kms

Ille de Noirmoutier approx 20kms

St. Nazaire, Pornic and La Rochelle are all within reasonable travelling distance.

Further Details:

St. Jean de Monts - Here you will find supermarkets on the edge of town, as well as banks and small shops and weekly market in the market place. Market days are Saturday in St. Jean de Monts ans Sunday in Notre Dame de Monts. Details of other markets in the area are available in reception on the site. There is a tourist information office available in both Jean de Monts and Notre Dame de Monts. There are a wide range of restaurants in the towns and villages around the site.The are is conducive to cycling, with many designated cycle ways in the towns and countryside around the site. Ille de Noirmoutier is not to be missed for its historical interest, beautiful scenery, beaches and white cottages.It also is ideal for cycling. The island can be accessed by either a road bridge or at low tide by La Gois where you can see the locals and tourists cockle picking. St Gilles-Croix de Vie and Sables d'Olonne are also well worth a visit.

Booking Notes:
A booking form is available by either post or email.
A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance is then due no less than 6 weeks before the holiday along with a £200 refundable cheque . This will be refunded within 2 weeks of your return home, if the home is left in a satisfactory condition and there are no damages or breakages. We have a "no smoking " and " no pets" policy in the home.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is the preferred changeover day, with arrival time after 4pm. and departure time by 10am. However there is some flexibility with these times and arrangements can be discussed at the time of booking.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week and are in pounds sterling.
Prices include all gas, water and electricity usage.
The taxe de Sejour must also be paid with the booking fee. This is 0.61 Euro per day per person aged 13 years and over in your party.

Once at Les Amiaux we are guaranteed a restful holiday. Our sunny plot is hedged to give privacy, but is sunny for a large part of the day. As we use the home for our own family holidays we maintain it in good condition. It is comfortable and well equipped with many "extras" provided. As we also own the adjacent 3 bed home there is the opportunity to have friends/family to stay and enjoy the holiday with us. As our mobile homes are the only ones in the cul de sac there is a cosmopolitan feel, with visitors from many countries moving onto the other plots temporarily.

The hedges around the plot offer privacy, but it still gets the sun a large part of the day. There is a grassed area and a paved area offering plenty of space for safe play for young children. There are sun loungers available and an outdoor eating/barbecue area. there is also a gazebo available if required. There is parking for one car. There is an indoor heated swimming pool with children's pool. A 3 flume outdoor areas as well as an outdoor swimming pool with children's water play area.Football,basketball and tennis courts are available as well as table tennis and children's play areas around the site. Bicycle hire is available on site. There is a programme of activities in the bar area in high season. The on site shop provides for basic needs.A restaurant and take away facilities are available in the bar. Outside: There is a grassed and paved area on the plot and hedges offer privacy. There is a patio table and chairs and gas barbecue available. Sun loungers and a gazebo are also available. there There is a box of children's beach toys and a small inflatable paddling pool available for your use. The pools on site are available free of charge. There is parking for 1 car on the plot. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets,pillows and blankets are provided. Guests must provide their own bed linen,towels and tea towels. Guests are responsible for leaving the home as they found it. On site hosts will check the home at the end of your stay.
