Great trip!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with wife and two boys for 4 nights. Clean place, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water for shower. Location is fantastic for touring the island. We hiked at the Storr, Quiraing, Cuillins / Glenn Brittle, Neist point. Everything was easy to get to (with a rental car). Co-op in Portree is less than 10 minutes away. And Georgina is super helpful and responsive to any questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

Our second time at the cottage and we have had just as good a holiday as last year. The cottage has everything we need to keep us as comfortable as we would be at home. After a day out walking or sight seeing coming home to a warm cosy cottage was a perfect end to the day. Skye is so beautiful in October and we had fabulous weather for most of the week! We can't wait to return again next year.

What a gem of a cottage, we arrived in the middle of a storm to a wonderful warm cosy cottage just had to light the log burner and open the bottle wine which had kindly been left for us - what more could we ask for. Everything was spotless the only thing I would say was I wish we had booked for a week instead of a long week-end, we will return to this exceptional cottage on the wonderful Isle of Skye.

Well equipped and clean house giving you the feeling of home. Rooms and beds are very good and give you the opportunity to have a good rest after a day around the island.

Picturesque rural location, good for families

  • 4 of 5

The house is generous in size, easily hosts 5 people, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The grounds are also very spacious with surrounding fields and grazing sheep. It's not for posh hotel people, but well-suited for families with young children. My friends really enjoyed their stay. Two things: the interiors especially downstairs would benefit from more ambient lighting; it was a shame not to be able to open the windows because of the summer midges, so the bedrooms upstairs got very stuffy - screens possible?

From the Owner

The cottage is a perfect base for exploring Skye. It's peaceful and backs onto the hillside, but it's only ten minutes from Portree, where there are shops, restaurants and a lovely harbour. We have recently put in a new kitchen with new appliances, utility room with washer and drier, there is a powerful shower, and also a log burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire. There is a separate dining room for family meals and planning the next day's adventures with the help of our maps and guide books. Newly installed central heating system 2014. There is a lovely mature enclosed garden, half an acre, perfect for relaxing in and taking in the views and for kids to play. Whether you like walking, mountaineering or just relaxing in peace, Skye is a wonderful place to take a break.
