Cottage near Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland - 1 Minute Walk To Shoreline

Kirkdale Bank is a wonderful, detached, traditional cottage with fantastic sea views. The house is surrounded by its own gardens, the front garden looking out to sea is enclosed. Sleeping six, there is a master king size bedroom, twin room and bunk bed room (with full size adult beds). The master bedroom, twin room, sitting-dining room, kitchen and bathroom all have wonderful sea views. There is an open fire in the sitting-room plus woodburning stove in the kitchen. Free logs are provided and there is central heating too. Kitchen has oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dish-washer. Utility room with washer/dryer. Pet friendly. There is a cot and highchair in the cottage plus optional babygate at the top of the stairs. Toys and games are provided also. The cottage is only five minutes from popular Gatehouse of Fleet with shops, bars and restaurants and only twenty minutes from Castle Douglas Food Town, Kirkcudbright Artists' Town and Wigtown Book Town. There is so much to do on the doorstep - Galloway Forest Park, Uk's only Gold Tier Dark Sky Park, famous 7Stanes mountain biking, forest trails, walking, beaches, golf courses, horse-riding, fishing, tennis, sea angling are within 10 minutes of he cottage. Plus we also have the extremely popular Cream o Galloway, the Cocoa Bean and Laggan Outdoor also all within 10 minutes of the cottage.

About Kirsten Hannay

Kirkdale Estate cottages are situated on a private working estate, Kirkdale Estate, home to the Hannay family for 500 years.

The two cottages, Kirkdale Bank and Kirkdale Port, sit about a quarter of a mile apart from each other and have been lovingly refurbished with the aim of giving them as many home comforts as possible - woodburning stoves, free logs central heating, shower, bath, freezer, washer/dryer, black-out lined curtains (for good nights sleep), pocket sprung mattresses, selection of pillows. Both have enclosed gardens and are pet friendly. Toys, games and books are in the properties.

There is so much to see and do in the area and we are always very happy to help with suggestions for nearby activities or places to see and lovely restaurants and cafes to visit also.

Just perfect!

The cottage is just perfect and very well equipped.

I stayed here for a week with my husband, daughter, son and our 2 dogs. The weather was beautiful the whole week which was great.

The real fire was lovely in the evening to sit round and play board games, plenty of logs etc.

Neil the owner was there to meet us just after we arrived which was lovely as he was able to tell us more about the place.

The view here is perfect, looking out over the water from every room in the house practically.

The garden is completely enclosed which was good for the dogs.

The beds were so comfortable and cosy.

Newton Stewart is probably the best place locally to go for food shopping as it has a couple of large supermarkets.

Kirkcudbright is a lovely wee place.

All in all we had a fantastic relaxing week away from it all, with only the rabbits in the garden for company, it really was perfect.

Warning - do not stay here for less than a week, you will regret it! Guaranteed to relax you and make all your everyday worries disappear. Stunning views, rock/shell beach short stroll away and every home comfort you could wish for. Owners delightful and welcoming. A beautiful location just begging to be explored. Enjoy!

Outside: House is surrounded by gardens. Stunning sea views from the enclosed south facing garden. Lovely teak table and teak chairs in front garden. Garden has panoramic sea views looking out over the stunning Solway Firth looking towards the Isle of Man. There is shed in the back garden with free logs. This has an optional padlock providing bike storage if required. Outside tap on shed. Easy parking for at least 2-3 cars. Utility Room: Utility room off kitchen with washer-dryer and additional sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included.
