Pam & I are retired nurses & also own a house in England.

We have been visiting this area of Spain for many years and loved it so much that we now spend almost 6 months of the year here. The house is well equipped and is a real home from home.

La Cala village has a beautiful blue-flag beach with a permanent lifeguard during the season. There are also many fiestas and festivals throughout the year and lots of reasonable-priced restaurants in which to eat.

We love the location because of the easy access to many popular places like Marbella, Fuengirola, Malaga, and many of the famous 'white villages' including Mijas.

The house is also situated close to many famous Golf Courses These include the well-known La Cala course plus Miraflores, La Noria & oth

Fabulous

We had a fabulous holiday. It was really good to have both our sons there because we normally only get to see them together at Xmas.

I have to say Anne and I are really jealous of you two ( In a nice way ) for owning such a lovely home in Spain. Anne finds walking long distances troublesome so the proximity to the pool and restaurants etc was brilliant.

Beautiful 3 Storey House in La Cala

Beautiful 3 Storey property within 5 mins walk to centre of La Cala. The property is well appointed and set over 3 storeys. 3 adults and 2 children stayed and there was plenty of room. The property is well cared for and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor areas are important to us when choosing a property and this property was fantastic. There is an outdoor dining area with sun loungers and deckchairs on the ground floor and a top floor terrace with sun loungers, dining table/chairs and built in BBQ. The upstairs fridge/freezer on this level was fantastic and allowed us to store our drinks to save the journey back down to the kitchen. There was also plates/glasses/cutlery on the upstairs level for use with the BBQ however we never did use this ourselves. The view from the terrace looks out over the sea and the A7 road. This is a busy road and does create quite a bit of noise. However once the property is closed up at night you cannot hear anything from outside. The property is on a gated street which always feels more secure. The pools are just across the street. There are 2 pools - the bigger pool was great for the kids and the smaller pool is ideal for younger children. The pool was always clean and there was always plenty of sunbeds. There was always a lifeguard on duty between 11am and 8pm which was reassuring as our youngest daughter spends most of her time in the pool.The Mercadona supermarket is literally across the road which made shopping so much easier. The Supersol supermarket is only a few minutes walk away as an alternative and it opens on a Sunday. The beaches at La Cala are lovely and clean. There are a couple of play areas and gym equipment on the promenade. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes to suit everyone. We ate out on a couple of occasions and found a lovely little bar on the beach which serves drinks only and snacks. We chose not to get a hire car this year and the !ocation of this property means a car is not be necessary unless you wish to travel further afield than the bus routes. We took a train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola and then the M220 bus which heads to Marbella but stops at La Cala on the way.It cost 20 euros for 5 people which is quite a saving on the cost of a taxi and took us just over an hour. We used the bus to go to both Marbella and Fuengirola both of which did not cost a lot.

Would highly recommend this apartment. Beautiful place to stay in La Cala.

Impressive home close to all amenities

The house was all that we had hoped for. The owners were very approachable and helpful. All bedrooms had individually controlled air conditioning and the bathrooms were modern and spotlessly clean. The large kitchen area was excellent and included every appliance you would wish for including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier etc . The lounge / diner was very spacious and included a large table and chairs, leather settees and a flat screen TV with cable viewing that included UK channels.

The roof top terrace is great and includes a superb built in BBQ. The garden has sunbeds and a large gazebo which covers a table and six chairs where you can eat outside. The area is beautifully maintained and is very quiet and secure. The communal swimming pool is literally across the street behind the terraced houses. It was very quiet making it easy to relax, swim and sunbathe. There are sun loungers and chairs to use. There is a large supermarket 50 metres away that sells everything you need. A car is not needed unless you wish to travel to other areas e.g Gibraltar as La Cana is less than a 5 min walk away where you can find many restaurants, local bars, pharmacy etc. My family have stayed in several homes/apartments in the area and I can categorically recommend this property without reservation. The whole rental process was made extremely easy both by the hosts Paul and Pam and their local representatives. Our returnable deposit was repaid immediately. We will certainly be in touch with the owners to re- book at a future date.

This was, by far the best house we've stayed in.

A very well equipped house, best features being the roof terrace, patio and lounge. These areas in particular were so well furnished, making our stay so comfortable. We had our 4 daughters here and had plenty of room! The little goodie bag, bookcase, plants, decor and cleanliness added to the high quality of hospitality.

Lovely lovely home from home

We have just got back from a fantastic holiday with our 7 year old grand daughter and we are already missing our Mijas home . The villa is beautiful , clean and full of nice touches that mean you can get on with your holiday , even down to the shopping trolley that makes your trip to Mercodona even more easy . The beach is a 5 minute walk away and is fabulous , we got sunbeds on the days we went , there are plenty of bars and restaurants, but no booming music . Public toilets and children's play areas. The pool on site is lovely and we spent a lovely day with it to ourselves for most of it . We used the local bus service to go to Fenguola and Mijas Pleobo ( spelling ) easy to do and very cheap , the bus 220 goes from near the police station and donkey statue . Be careful sitting on the donkey , its very hot . We ate out every day either at lunch or dinner , but also cooked at home , making full use of the roof top BBQ.

If you are looking for a home from home in a beautiful place , with amazing beach and local amenities , then look no further . Also only 30 minutes in a taxi from the airport , which we had prearranged , Eur 45 each way , but excellent service and the driver knows where you are going . Our driver Diego , was also very helpful in telling us tips for the area

La Cala was originally a fishing village, now it has developed into a vibrant and busy town which has managed to maintain a lot of it's original character.

La Cala has all the amenities required. Several banks, 3 large supermarkets, lots of bars and restaurants including Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Thai.

Live music at several bars. Nightly entertainment including Flamenco at The Grand Hotel non residents welcome.

Hairdressers and Beauticians within walking distance.

Post Office in the village

Twice weekly market Saturday & Wednesday.

Spa facility at the Oceana in Torrenueva (next village)

Excursions by coach available to Gibraltar, Tangiers, Rhonda, Serville, Granada, Nerja, Cordoba etc.

Car hire is recommended if guests plan to explore the whole Andalucian region but wouldn't be needed if a family beach holiday is all that is required as there is a very good bus service available along the coast. Local family activities include in aqua-park & zoo in Fuengirola, Tivoli world amusement park, in Benalmadena. Selwo safari zoo,
