Pam & I are retired nurses & also own a house in England.

We have been visiting this area of Spain for many years and loved it so much that we now spend almost 6 months of the year here. The house is well equipped and is a real home from home.

La Cala village has a beautiful blue-flag beach with a permanent lifeguard during the season. There are also many fiestas and festivals throughout the year and lots of reasonable-priced restaurants in which to eat.

We love the location because of the easy access to many popular places like Marbella, Fuengirola, Malaga, and many of the famous 'white villages' including Mijas.

The house is also situated close to many famous Golf Courses These include the well-known La Cala course plus Miraflores, La Noria & oth

Nice vacation home

We really enjoyed this house, it feels like home, clean and tidy, and very well equipped. It’s in a secure location, close to everything, 5 min from the beach and restaurants, grocery store just across the street. No car needed ! would definitely recommend it

Fabulous Home

The house was bigger and more luxurious than we could have imagined. It was spotless and had loads of little touches which helped make us feel at home: a little welcome pack, toiletries in the bathroom and pool toys outside. Restaurants, supermarkets and great beach all just a few minutes walk away but it was difficult to tear ourselves away from the house, garden and roof terrace.

Absolutely brilliant!

The property is perfect as situated very close to the town and beach. The house itself had everything we needed for our holidaylatest and more! The fabulous pool is a few steps away which the kids loved! We had a fantastic holiday and are booking for 2017! The owners are extremely helpful as are the management team.

Fantastic

I couldn't believe just how well equipped Sam & Paul's house was especially as we arrived on the Sunday and most of la cala is closed for just the essentials there was milk,water and the welcome pack was just perfect..the house had everything we needed and more it was very close to the mercadona 2 mins away..and just five min walk into the centre of la cala mijas..10 mins from the beach..the area around the house is very well maintained and quiet..the communal pool was perfect also..I really can't say enough we all loved it..thank you Sam & Paul for allowing us to stay in your home we can't wait too book again for next year..and for as long you lets us..best regards Susan Boomer...

Great holiday

This property was superb for a family holiday. Two families of four adults and two babies stayed in the house and found it ideal and very safe for the babies wth a great enclosed outside terrace. It is ideally situated just outside the town centre of La Cala De Mijas which is a Spanish resort ideal for a family holiday with plenty of choice to eat and drink but not a noisy resort. We will definitely consider the accommodation again in the future. The house itself has everything you would need including full TV package, aircon and even baby gates. Thanks again to the owners for the use of the house we had a memorable holiday.

Nearest Beach : La Cala 5 minute walk at 400 Metres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Easy 5 minutes walk to sandy Blue Flag beach with beachside bars and restaurants selling local dishes including the famous Grilled sardines & Prawns Pil Pil. New beautiful Coastal path extending from La Cala to Riveria Del Sol.Other amenities include fitness equipment, beach massages, boat trips, fishing, jet skies and water sports. Children's play areas with safety climbing frames and trampoline.

Travel:

25 minutes drive from Malaga Airport. Taxis ready available

Good cheap train service between Airport/Malaga and Fuengirola.

Taxi or bus from Fuengirola to La Cala

Car hire not essential all amenities as within walking distance.

Distances:

Marbella, Puerto Banus, Fuengirola 25/15 minutes by bus.

Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz all 2 hours drive.

Rhonda, Gibralter 1 hours drive.

North Africa 3 hours drive/ferry.

La Cala was originally a fishing village, now it has developed into a vibrant and busy town which has managed to maintain a lot of it's original character.

La Cala has all the amenities required. Several banks, 3 large supermarkets, lots of bars and restaurants including Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Thai.

Live music at several bars. Nightly entertainment including Flamenco at The Grand Hotel non residents welcome.

Hairdressers and Beauticians within walking distance.

Post Office in the village

Twice weekly market Saturday & Wednesday.

Spa facility at the Oceana in Torrenueva (next village)

Excursions by coach available to Gibraltar, Tangiers, Rhonda, Serville, Granada, Nerja, Cordoba etc.

Car hire is recommended if guests plan to explore the whole Andalucian region but wouldn't be needed if a family beach holiday is all that is required as there is a very good bus service available along the coast. Local family activities include in aqua-park & zoo in Fuengirola, Tivoli world amusement park, in Benalmadena. Selwo safari zoo,
