About Sally Marshall

I live in England with my husband and pet 10 year old Labrador. My husband and I both work full time and we spend all our holidays in Spain. We discovered this area of Spain about 6 years ago and have returned on holidays many time since. We love it. The people are friendly and the climate here is sunny most days of the year and has I believe the least amount of rainfall in Spain.

I like to have direct contact with all my guests so I can answer any questions you may have, to make sure you have a great holiday. Please do not hesitate to contact me either by phone or e-mail.

Sally Marshall purchased this villa in 2012

Why Sally Marshall chose Torre-Pacheco

We love this location. The sandy beaches of the Mar Menor are gorgeous. The beach bars and marina restaurants along the coast are fabulous, our favourite bar offers Menu of the day is very reasonable, we eat here frequently.

The resort is 15 minutes drive from the airport, we can leave our home in the UK and be in the Villa 4 hours later.

What makes this villa unique

The resort is so well kept, it is a pleasure to see each time we return. The on-site facilities, restaurants, bars and supermarket give us everything we need when we visit. We particularly like the Italian restaurant La Fontana which is very reasonably priced and we always eat in the Intercontinental Hotel, the food is fabulous and excellent value for money.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Peter & Sarah Oct 2013 I would like express our warm thanks for the excellent week we had in your Villa it was lovely & the resort was beautiful. We found the location to be excellent, the pools were clean and warm and all the people we met were helpful & friendly. Swimming in the Mar Menor in 28 degree sunshine in October was enjoyed by all of us, and the addition of the Festival in Al Cazares was a real bonus. Our children are already asking about coming back next year.

Julie H Southampton Oct 2013 We returned to this lovely villa in late September (our second visit). Once again we had a fabulous time and the weather was still about 34 degrees most days! We spent a lot of time relaxing up at the communal swimming pool, it had everything we needed, bar, food & good changing/showering facilities. We visited the Italian restaurant on several occasions, very reasonable prices & good food and then what better way to spend an evening on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine or two. Thank

La Manga Strip

The La Manga Strip is a unique location in Europe , it is a strip of land 21 Km long and 300 metres wide (average). La Manga means ‘sleeve’ and it is a strip of land which separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor (Small Sea). Along it’s coast on both sides, there are beautiful ‘Blue Flag’ beaches with white sands, ideal for family holidays. Even in the height of the season, they never get ‘packed’ and claustrophobic

The Mar Menor is the largest lagoon in Europe and has a surface area of 130 sq km and a maximum depth of 8 metres. The crystal clear waters are warm, calm and rich in salts and minerals, in fact the temperature never falls below 18degrees. In certain areas of the Mar Menor the therapeutic clays can be found, these are a favourite with the Spanish tourists.

Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

The literature and the information on the website quotes "the representatives will meet you when possible at the Villa Castano 88 or advise where the keys will be if they are not able to"... this was not done in my case.. I travelled alone with my 2 young children, and called the representatives when we landed and during our commute to the property over 25 times with no response.. I then had to approach help from the Hotel where I provisionally booked a hotel room as I was so worried/frightened me and my children would have nowhere to stay. We had to email the owner via OwnersDirect and the representatives later called my son to inform us where the keys were hidden...

We experienced another issue with the fixtures and fittings, when the bathroom shelf fell off the wall into the sink below.. We had no goods on the shelf and we wasn't even in the bathroom when it happened. We contacted the representatives but again no response, so emailed the owner via OwnsersDirect and informed them of the situation. We did not see the representatives to evaluate the situation. The owner decided to keep my deposit.. stating "The damage to the sink was caused whilst I was there, as I advised them."

My experience was Inexcusably.

Owner's Response: I am disappointed but not surprised to get this review, but when I withheld the damage deposit I expected this may happen. I try to arrange for all guests to be met at the Villa as I think this is nicer for them. However in busy months this is not always possible. Whilst I acknowledge and apologized for the delay I do have emergency access available should the guests contact me and my direct contact details are made available. As an exact time of arrival cannot be given I pass all information including flight details to my representative. It was unfortunate that when the guests called the keyholder had been called to an emergency and there was no phone signal. When they contacted me I immediately called the keyholder and was advised that contact had been made and they were in the Villa. I also supplied a complimentary welcome pack as they were arriving late and in case the shop on the resort was closed. I have now put in place a slightly different procedure to prevent this happening again. I build in an allowance for damage to glasses, plates etc and always keep a surplus supply as accidents do happen and I have never in the past held back any money for damage. We were at the Villa several weeks before the guest arrived and the Villa is always checked before and after each guests visit. The guest contacted me to advise the sink had been damaged which had left a big hole in the basin. The Shower and toilet could still be used. They also advised they could manage without using it and were happy to use the other sink. I contacted the keyholder and sent the photo of the damage and arranged for a plumber to replace the sink after they left. I do not agree with the explanation given as the extent of the damage caused could not have been done as was explained. The keyholder did not need to evaluate the damage as it was very clear from photo that a replacement would be needed. The money held did not cover the full cost of the replacement.

Villa in easy reach of shop and pool. Property had air conditioning and was light and spacious enough for 4 people.

Good neighbours too !

Close to airport and nice beaches near-by

Would need to have a hire car though !

The property was just as described on the website. As soon as we entered we felt at home

The property was very clean and had everything we needed. There was information about the site and local area. The instructions from the airport to the property were concise and easy to follow and even though we arrived late at night after a delayed flight the keys were left for us and lights had been turned on. Overall a fantastic experience we would recommend to anyone and we would love to return in the future

An Oasis of Villa's

  • 5 of 5

We visited this Villa in September being our second holiday at this perfect location for a great holiday set amidst tree line boulevard's all immaculately kept. On arrival you feel so relaxed Murcia Airport being small is so quick and easy on arrival with plenty of hire car companies to choose from. The Villa is situated approx 15 mins drive from the airport and on arrival at Mar Menor Golf you feel totally at home.

There is a fantastic golf course intertwined with the Villas with a central location offering an Intercontinental Hotel with numerous restaurants and bars and a couple of lovely swimming pools and the necessary Spar shop.

The villa is located in a perfect quiet relaxing position not being overlooked. The layout is fantastic greeted on entrance with a lovely lounge having a glazed vaulted ceiling, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. An easy to use kitchen area with all the essentials you require to enjoy alfresco dining either inside, covered outside patio or the fantastic roof terrace watching the sunsets and sunrises depending how good the wine was the night before. We had a fabulous holiday and we are not golfers but a 5 minute drive takes us to the beautiful beach which we enjoyed with a host of bars and restaurants. Very relaxing to walk along the sea front in the evening enjoy a meal and people watch.

The area has many interesting places to visit we enjoyed visiting Cartegena with its Roman ruins, port, museums and fantastic shopping area.

We had a great holiday and will definitely be booking again still lots more to explore.
