Entering through a stable door, the cottage has been renovated and stylishly furnished throughout. Step into the seaside inspired open plan living space full of retained character, yet sympathetically renovated with beautiful exposed beams and slate tiled floor. The wood-effect stove ensures cosy, relaxing evenings, whatever the weather. The petite bijoux galley kitchen is fully equipped, and with an array of freshly caught seafood landing in Port Isaac daily there are plenty superb dining options whatever your preference. Stairs from the living space lead up to a stunning bedroom and minimalist en-suite bathroom. Wake up to the sound and sight of the sea, with unspoilt views across the harbour. From the cottage amble down to the Platt and watch the fisherman at work. Try out the numerous restaurants and cafes or climb up the steep path for breath-taking views of the rugged coastline. Port Gaverne and its sheltered beach is only a short walk away. It is the perfect place on a summers evening when you can often spot people fishing off the rocks and barbecuing, watching the sun set across the sea.

About the Owner

My family and I live here in North Cornwall with our Golden retriever Rocket and cat. Lured by the fabulous beaches and outstanding scenery we moved down from Salisbury last year. The area has so much to offer from natural beauty to fantastic restaurants and historic houses and gardens. I work part time as primary school teacher and my husband busies himself with various projects around the home and garden.

Our first holiday let was The Hayloft, which is a cosy studio apartment above our garage, that has proved very popular in its first year. Following its success and our enjoyment in meeting guests we have purchased Homestead in Port Isaac, a quaint old fisherman's cottage. Both properties provide brilliant bases to explore all the North Cornwall area has to offer.

Perfectly located cottage in Port Isaac

Small but perfectly formed cottage. Tiny kitchen but fine for the easy cooking we had planned. Location great, right on the coastpath, close to good pub. Some good walks from the village and short trips to Tintagel, Padstow good. Fantastic meal at Nathan Outlaws. Cream tea on arrival most welcome.

Fantastic Holiday

We had an amazing holiday, the cottage was just perfect! Spotlessly clean, everything you needed, very cosy and a scrummy cream tea was waiting for us on arrival! What more could you ask for. This was our first visit to Port Isaac and would definately return and definately return to the cottage! Nathan Outlaws fish kitchen was brilliant, we went for the taster menu which was delicious and well worth the money. Also we enjoyed the foot ferry from Rock to Padstow, lovely day out, carpark is a stones throw from where you catch it.

Cosy, clean and well laid out cottage.

We had another super holiday in Port Isaac. The cottage, as always, was immaculate. The cottage is situated in the perfect location for the village, walks and fantastic views. Scilla was very welcoming and the cream tea was delicious.This was our third visit and it never fails to impress. We will be back again next year!

tiny but superb cottage with a fantastic view

We had a great stay in this tiny cottage, located right in the hart of wonderful Port Isaac. The view from the bedroom is fantastic, the cottage is just big enough for two and it looks great. When you combine all that with very friendly hosts and an extremely reasonable price, this cottage offers extreme value for Money. Only thing missing is Wi-Fi. This is especially problematic beacause there is virtually no cell reception in Port Isaac.

Immaculately clean recently renovated cottage

Lovely comfy bed.

Ideal centrall location with good sea view from bedroom

Perfect for a stress free holiday for a couple.

Home made cream tea waiting for us was a lovely personal touch.

Nice selection of eating out options available within walking distance.

The only negative is no parking at property., but we had no problem parking at local pay & display car park.

Would definitely recommend a stay in the cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage

Had a super week in Port Isaac. The cottage was everything we had hoped it would be. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location was perfect, stunning views and lovely walks. Dog friendly area, which suited us and our westie! Great fish and chips from the takeaway up the road. Met Martin Clunes when they were filming in nearby Port Gaverne - bonus!!! Cannot say anything negative about the cottage or the location. Thank you.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Situated overlooking Port Isaac harbour the cottage is a perfect base for enjoying the beach at low tide. Alternatively stroll over the hill to Port Gaverne in 10mins for a swim or bucket BBQ

10 minutes drive brings you to the excellent surfing beach of Polzeath and Rock. These offer surf schools, sea kayaking and coasteering, sailing, water skiing and restaurants. From Rock a foot passenger ferry operates to Padstow the picturesque fishing port with Rick Stein's restaurant and deli.

Travel:

By car via the A30 dual carriageway from Exeter 63 miles. Newquay airport 30 mins drive. Excellent train service taking 3hrs 40 mins from London to Bodmin Parkway, where taxis are available to bring you the 45 min drive to Pendoggett.

Buses run from Bodmin Parkway station to Wadebridge and take 30 mins.

Western Greyhound run a bus service locally.

Distances:

The bustling market town of Wadebridge situated on the River Camel with its cycle trail is 15 mins by car and a further 15 mins will bring you to Padstow and its renowned restaurants and shops. Inland within 15 mins you can be parked at the foot of Rough Tor, the highest point on Bodmin moor with its rocky outcrop affording stunning 360 views. The NT's Lanhydrock house with its beautiful gardens, Restormel Castle at Lostwithiel and walks beside the river Fowey are all within 30 mins drive.

Further Details:

Port Isaac has a range of small shops including a co-op supermarket, fresh fish cellar, gift shops and many restaurants including Nathan Outlaw's Fish Kitchen, cafes and pubs. Over the hill in Port Gaverne is The Gaverne Hotel which serves bar and restaurant meals. Trevathan farm shop, pick you own and cafe at St Endellion is less than 5 mins by car. The market town of Wadebridge is 15 mins by car and has a large Tesco, banks, post office, a variety of interesting individual shops and sports centre. The internationally famous St. Endellion Music Festival of classical music, opera, etc., is held at St. Endellion church, at Easter and in early August.
