Lovely city centre apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Great communication with the owner & as a family of 4 with two young boys this apartment was perfect for us. We parked the car & didn't use it again for the rest of our 4 day break. The apartment is ideally located for York town centre, a short stroll across one of the bridges & you are in the lovely town centre. The apartment is superbly well equipped & the boys appreciated the 'smart' tv! It is comfortable & very quiet considering it is such a short distance from the centre of York.

We have booked this apartment again for a pre Christmas break & the boys are delighted to return!

Owner's Response: We bought the apartment to use as a family so we know that it works for guests with children! The Smart TV is a recent addition and my teenagers are not impressed that it's better than our TV at home! Not that you need to watch much TV in York - there is so much to do for all ages - but because everything is within a few minutes walk, it's possible to keep popping back for a spell of relaxation before going out to explore some more!

Great location/Nice owner

  • 5 of 5

The York City Centre Apartment was clean and comfortable and a short walk to the main sights. The apartment complex was quiet. Debbie was very accommodating and allowed us to stay an extra night, when our flight was canceled. I highly recommend this listing.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to post your very complimentary review. The peaceful location is much appreciated by our guests, particularly those who have travelled from overseas and need a good night's sleep to recover from their journey. I was pleased to be able to accommodate your extra night, although appreciate that you would rather have been on your way home were it not for circumstances beyond your control!

Excellent accommodation superbly located for central York

  • 5 of 5

Secure, modern, well equipped first floor apartment within just 5 minutes stroll to central York. Warm and comfortable with the bonus of an extra secure gated parking spot is a rare combination in this area.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive review. You are right about the parking - it is definitely rare to find in such a central location and is one of the reasons that we chose this apartment - that, the garden and the amazing peace and quiet that it affords despite being so close to the city centre. We hope to welcome you back some time.

very central and easy to get to.

  • 5 of 5

I hesitate to submit this review because the apartment will then be booked when we want to come again - which we certainly will do! A superbly appointed and located apartment - perfect for a couple celebrating a birthday in the run up to Christmas. The apartment was very cosy and a delight to come back to especially in the snow. We will definitely return.

Owner's Response: Thank you Paul! The biggest compliment we can get is when guests return - that says it all! We look forwarded to welcoming you back in 2018.

Scarborough 41 miles by car; also accessible by direct train

Whitby 50 miles

York is less than an hour away from Leeds Bradford airport and not much further from Teesside and Doncaster (Robin Hood) airports.

York is on the main East coast rail line and the railway station is only a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Travelling by car, York is easily accessible from the A1, north or south, with the apartment being just ten minutes drive away from the ring road. Once there, you will have little need for a car as the whole city is easily accessible by foot.

There is so much to see and do in York that you will easily occupy a whole week's stay without leaving the city.

If you crave even more history, the stately homes of Harewood House and Castle Howard are 25 miles and 15 respectively.

Should you wish to explore further afield, the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales, and the beautiful Yorkshire coast can all be reached by car in an hour.

Further Details:

All the main supermarkets have high street outlets within 3 minutes' walk of the apartment.

You are spoilt for choice if you want to eat out, with cafes, restaurants and pubs every few yards making the city centre as lively by night as it is by day.

History lovers will love rambling around York's historic streets such as the Shambles and Stonegate, and delight in visits to the Castle Museum and the Yorkshire Museum as well as the Minster.

Arts lovers can fill their time with visits to York Theatre Royal, the Grand Opera House, the Barbican concert hall and York City art gallery, as well as the two city centre cinemas.

Fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of the historic and shopping areas? Then walk or take a cruise along the River Ouse or visit one of the city's two main parks - the 20-acres of Rowntree Park and the ten-acre botanical Museum gardens - both but a short stroll away from the apartment.
