Lovely city centre apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Great communication with the owner & as a family of 4 with two young boys this apartment was perfect for us. We parked the car & didn't use it again for the rest of our 4 day break. The apartment is ideally located for York town centre, a short stroll across one of the bridges & you are in the lovely town centre. The apartment is superbly well equipped & the boys appreciated the 'smart' tv! It is comfortable & very quiet considering it is such a short distance from the centre of York.

We have booked this apartment again for a pre Christmas break & the boys are delighted to return!

Owner's Response: We bought the apartment to use as a family so we know that it works for guests with children! The Smart TV is a recent addition and my teenagers are not impressed that it's better than our TV at home! Not that you need to watch much TV in York - there is so much to do for all ages - but because everything is within a few minutes walk, it's possible to keep popping back for a spell of relaxation before going out to explore some more!

Excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

Apartment is like a home from home, excellent decor and comforty beds throughout, kitchen well equipped, secure car parking space. Central location from which you can easily walk to everything, yet away from the street noise. Contact and instructions from owner first class. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return again.

Could not have been better!

What more could you ask for - location - A1, Cleanliness - A1, size - A1, responsive owner - A1. If you are looking for a well located perfect 2 bedroom apartment in York - look no further. 10 mins easy walk into the centre and all conveniences very close - e.g. supermarket, restaurants, pubs etc. AND parking - which is an absolute must in York if you have car. Thanks so much Debbie - we will be recommending your apartment and would happily stay again if in York.

Owner's Response: Wow! Lots of A1s - that is so rewarding for both us and our cleaners. We do try hard to make the apartment 'home from home', with everything we think visitors need for a relaxing stay, and it seems that we are achieving that so far. We are never complacent though so stay there ourselves a couple of times a year and try to view it through the eyes of visitors, replacing items that aren't up to scratch and buying those that we realise would be handy to have around. It's great to know that guests have enjoyed their stay enough to want to return!

Great stay in York!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights (5/12 - 5/15) as part of our England vacation. It was perfect! The apartment was well equipped, clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. The location was in a quiet neighborhood yet close to the heart of the city. Debbie was very accommodating and helpful with advice for local sightseeing. Will stay here again when we return to the area!

Owner's Response: I am pleased that my advice on things to do and see is welcome. We have made a point of visiting as many of the tourist attractions as possible, and with children of varying ages, so that we can recommend from personal experience. We also like to try different restaurants - purely for research of course. It's a tough task but we battle through!!

Fabulous apartment close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We came to York by train from Manchester Airport and could walk to this apartment from the Train Station in under 10 minutes...so convenient. Our home for the week was spotless and very comfortable. The grocery store was just around the corner and quite well stocked. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from the river, and the centre of town. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting York!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive review. Clean, comfortable and convenient is everything we ourselves would hope to find in a holiday home and I am pleased that your experience of our apartment lived up to that! We have welcomed several visitors from Canada and the US recently and I am sure prospective travellers will be interested to read how easily you reached York - and our apartment - from Manchester airport. The direct train from there to our lovely city makes it even more accessible than from London.

Lovely apartment, well presented and spotlessly clean

  • 5 of 5

The apartment Is well placed to the city centre but lovely and quiet too. It is beautifully finished, clean and modern with a well equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable with good quality pillows and duvets. The bathroom is modern and very clean with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. Good heating ensured the apartment was always warm. We had a very pleasant stay and would certainly stay here again in the future. It is highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay. We changed our cleaners towards the end of last year and are delighted that their efforts are being appreciated as much as those of our previous firm. I will pass on your comments! After letting out the apartment for about three years now, we are beginning to have a few 'repeat' bookings which we really appreciate and would love to welcome you back too in the future!

Location

Coast/Beach:

Scarborough 41 miles by car; also accessible by direct train

Whitby 50 miles

Travel:

York is less than an hour away from Leeds Bradford airport and not much further from Teesside and Doncaster (Robin Hood) airports.

York is on the main East coast rail line and the railway station is only a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Travelling by car, York is easily accessible from the A1, north or south, with the apartment being just ten minutes drive away from the ring road. Once there, you will have little need for a car as the whole city is easily accessible by foot.

Distances:

There is so much to see and do in York that you will easily occupy a whole week's stay without leaving the city.

If you crave even more history, the stately homes of Harewood House and Castle Howard are 25 miles and 15 respectively.

Should you wish to explore further afield, the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales, and the beautiful Yorkshire coast can all be reached by car in an hour.

Further Details:

All the main supermarkets have high street outlets within 3 minutes' walk of the apartment.

You are spoilt for choice if you want to eat out, with cafes, restaurants and pubs every few yards making the city centre as lively by night as it is by day.

History lovers will love rambling around York's historic streets such as the Shambles and Stonegate, and delight in visits to the Castle Museum and the Yorkshire Museum as well as the Minster.

Arts lovers can fill their time with visits to York Theatre Royal, the Grand Opera House, the Barbican concert hall and York City art gallery, as well as the two city centre cinemas.

Fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of the historic and shopping areas? Then walk or take a cruise along the River Ouse or visit one of the city's two main parks - the 20-acres of Rowntree Park and the ten-acre botanical Museum gardens - both but a short stroll away from the apartment.
