A modern, newly-decorated, holiday home, situated within York’s city walls.

The apartment is on the first floor of a three-storey block of six flats in total, sharing a secure car park.

A coded gateway, located under the archway entrance, ensures security for the small complex.

Set within a small, neatly maintained and peaceful, communal garden, the apartment comprises an entrance hall, sitting room, breakfast kitchen, twin bedroom, master bedroom and bathroom.

In the sitting room are two large leather sofas, one of which converts into a comfortable double bed, a flat widescreen television with digital channels, Blu-Ray DVD player, and an ipod/iphone docking station. A selection of DVDs, games and many books about York - its history and attractions - are all provided, as is broadband internet access.

The fully-fitted kitchen contains everything you need to feel at home including a dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, cafetiere and


There are electric heaters in each room and an electric immersion tank for hot water.

All York’s museums (Railway, Castle, Yorkshire and Chocolate - York’s Sweet History) are but a short stroll away, as are two cinemas, both theatres and the Barbican concert venue. York Racecourse is also within walking distance.

For motorists, Queens Court provides a secure, allocated parking space. It is equally convenient for the railway station and Park & Ride bus stops.

We both had an excellent time in this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone else who are thinking of staying in York.

The apartment was spotless with everything one needed and in a first class location with only a short walk to the city centre.

Location, Location, Location

We stayed a week at this property and enjoyed every minute. From the start Debbie was so helpful especially since we gave her two days notice from booking to arrival! The property was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The location was right next to the River Ouze inside the old walls and perfect for walking everywhere. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again!

Excellent property: central location and parking

We were delighted to stay in this property. The location was fantastic, very central and with parking. Although it was central it was also quiet.

The property itself was a good size, with excellent facilities.

Everything was to an excellent standard and I would very much recommend this property.

Excellent apartment really central location

Had a really good time in this apartment . Excellent location , central but quiet . Apartment had everything you need . Comfy beds . Liked having the secure off street parking also and wee garden . Even a few squirrels .

Debbie was great to deal with and responded quickly to queries . Would stay here again . York is lovely city and we had fantastic weather .

Very well placed for the city centre. Clean and comfortable.

Had a great week and the flat is very well placed as a base for exploring the city. It was good to walk! The flat had everything we need and was comfortable. The owner was very helpful when we booked and kept in touch with us in the run-up to our holiday. Would recommend staying here.

The beauty of York is that everywhere is accessible by foot and none of the major sights are more than a 10 minute walk from the apartment.... if you use a step monitor, you are able to reach your daily target without even realising you have been walking so much!

Activity and Interests


Scarborough 41 miles by car; also accessible by direct train

Whitby 50 miles


York is less than an hour away from Leeds Bradford airport and not much further from Teesside and Doncaster (Robin Hood) airports.

York is on the main East coast rail line and the railway station is only a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Travelling by car, York is easily accessible from the A1, north or south, with the apartment being just ten minutes drive away from the ring road. Once there, you will have little need for a car as the whole city is easily accessible by foot.


There is so much to see and do in York that you will easily occupy a whole week's stay without leaving the city.

If you crave even more history, the stately homes of Harewood House and Castle Howard are 25 miles and 15 respectively.

Should you wish to explore further afield, the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales, and the beautiful Yorkshire coast can all be reached by car in an hour.

Further Details:

All the main supermarkets have high street outlets within 3 minutes' walk of the apartment.

You are spoilt for choice if you want to eat out, with cafes, restaurants and pubs every few yards making the city centre as lively by night as it is by day.

History lovers will love rambling around York's historic streets such as the Shambles and Stonegate, and delight in visits to the Castle Museum and the Yorkshire Museum as well as the Minster.

Arts lovers can fill their time with visits to York Theatre Royal, the Grand Opera House, the Barbican concert hall and York City art gallery, as well as the two city centre cinemas.

Fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of the historic and shopping areas? Then walk or take a cruise along the River Ouse or visit one of the city's two main parks - the 20-acres of Rowntree Park and the ten-acre botanical Museum gardens - both but a short stroll away from the apartment.

Outside: The apartment is set within a small, neatly maintained and peaceful, communal garden that includes a small lawn area perfect for barbecues or picnics, a small table and chairs. There is also an allocated parking bay and a secure bicycle storage area. The outside area is accessed only via coded double gates underneath an archway. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Good quality towels, modern bedding and an end of rental clean are all included in the price. A mid-term clean and linen change can be requested for stays of more than one week, at an additional cost. This is compulsory for stays of more than a fortnight.
