Overview

About the property

Cottage, sleeps 6, views of Godrevy lighthouse.

3, Nanjivey Row is a former tin miner's cottage, built in 1880. The cottage offers comfortable accommodation suitable for family and friends holidaying together or a couple who enjoy the space to spread out. We do not accept same sex parties of more than three adults.

Ground floor: Open plan lounge/kitchen/diner.

First floor: Bedroom 1 with king-size bed. Bedroom 2 with full-size bunk beds. Bathroom including bath with an over-head power–shower.

Second floor: Bedroom 3 with twin beds. (Please note that the stairs to the second floor are steep and narrow and may be unsuitable for the very young or the elderly). 3, Nanjivey Row is one of just four cottages, accessed by a private footpath. Next to this access the pavement is wide enough to park your car for a short time in order to unload. A few paces away there is a handy and well stocked shop. The cottage is situated in the higher part of St Ives, five to ten minutes walk from the harbour shops and the four beautiful beaches. Gas central heating throughout and all gas and electricity is included in the rental.

Please note: The property is non-smoking. Please contact us about pets. Duvets and pillows are provided but guests will need to provide their own duvet covers, pillow cases and fitted sheets. There is no parking with the property but there are several residential streets nearby where you can park your car.

About Trudi Bartlett

We are a family of four; myself, my husband and our two children. We live in East Devon in a fishing village called Beer, where my husband owns a boat hire business. I was a teacher for 27 years but now teach swimming and work as a maths tutor. We love walking, swimming, surfing and generally anything on the water. We have a black Labrador called Bruno who is a new addition to the family and my third child. He's a real character and Loves the beaches of St Ives.

Trudi Bartlett purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Trudi Bartlett chose Saint Ives

We love West Cornwall. The scenery is dramatic and breathtaking and we chose St Ives because it has a charm of its own and we wanted to have the option of being able to walk to restraunts and pubs in the evenings. There are also at least four beaches to choose from facing in different directions so you can be sheltered whatever the wind direction. If the weather is unpredictable there are lots of smaller galleries to visit as well as the Tate, the Barbara Hepworth museum and the Leach pottery which is close to our cottage. There are also beautiful tempting shops, cafes and a cinema and 'kids r us' theatre. Once you leave St Ives to explore the surrounding area then you find yourself in remote countryside away from the crowds and there are some fantastic walks particularly on the North coast road.

What makes this cottage unique

We bought 3, Nanjivey row after looking at properties closer to the beach. We soon realised that it could take more than half an hour to drive through the town in high season and then be almost impossible to find a parking space. We wanted to be able to have our car available to us as we love touring the area and finding new places and exploring new walks. St Ives is beautiful but the scenery in west Cornwall is equally breath taking . St Ives beaches are less than a ten minute walk away or a short taxi ride. There is also a bus from Porthmeor beach to the rugby club which is close to the cottage.

Absolutely beautiful quirky cottage, very spacious

  • 5 of 5

Our first stay in St Ives, short walk down the hill to the harbour which is a central location for the best food & bars, short walks to the 3 main beaches & a cheap friendly bus service was always there to take us back up the hill after a tiring day. Great to have a washing machine in the house for bits & pieces & was plenty of space to have our friends over for a take away- highly recommended. Great communication with owner 👌👍🙌

Location

Special interest holidays:

The cottage is situated in the higher part of St Ives, five to ten minutes walk from the harbour shops and the four beautiful beaches. If you can’t face the up-hill walk back, a taxi ride from the cinema is between £2 and £3 which is probably less than you’d pay to park your car.
