Self Catering Holiday Cottage In St Ives, Cornwall

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Nov-2016
Cottage, sleeps 6, views of Godrevy lighthouse.

3, Nanjivey Row is a former tin miner's cottage, built in 1880. The cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard and offers comfortable accommodation suitable for family and friends holidaying together or a couple who enjoy the space to spread out. Ground floor: Open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. First floor: Bedroom 1 with king-size bed. Bedroom 2 with full-size bunk beds. Bathroom including bath with an over-head power–shower. Second floor: Bedroom 3 with twin beds. (Please note that the stairs to the second floor are steep and narrow and may be unsuitable for the very young or the elderly). 3, Nanjivey Row is one of just four cottages, accessed by a private footpath. Next to this access the pavement is wide enough to park your car for a short time in order to unload. A few paces away there is a handy and well stocked shop. The cottage is situated in the higher part of St Ives, five to ten minutes walk from the harbour shops and the four beautiful beaches. Gas central heating throughout and all gas and electricity is included in the rental. Please note: The property is suitable for families but not for 6 adults. It is non-smoking and is unsuitable for pets. Duvets and pillows are provided but guests will need to provide their own duvet covers, pillow cases and fitted sheets. There is no parking with the property but there are residential streets nearby where you can park your car in the road.

Location

From the Owner

We love West Cornwall. The scenery is dramatic and breathtaking and we chose St Ives because it has a charm of its own and we wanted to have the option of being able to walk to restraunts and pubs in the evenings. There are also four beaches to choose from facing in different directions so you can be sheltered whatever the wind direction. If the weather is unpredictable there are lots of smaller galleries to visit as well as the Tate, the Barbara Hepworth museum and the Leach pottery which is close to our cottage. There are also beautiful tempting shops, cafes and a cinema and 'kids r us' theatre. Once you leave St Ives to explore the surrounding area then you find yourself in remote countryside away from the crowds and there are some fantastic walks particularly on the North coast road.

Special interest holidays:

The cottage is situated in the higher part of St Ives, five to ten minutes walk from the harbour shops and the four beautiful beaches. If you can’t face the up-hill walk back, a taxi ride from the cinema is between £2 and £3 which is probably less than you’d pay to park your car.

Facilities

From the Owner

We bought 3, Nanjivey row after looking at properties in the centre of town and realising that it could take more than half an hour to drive through and then be a nightmare to find parking. We wanted to be able to park the car so we had it available to us. St Ives is beautiful but the scenery in west Cornwall is breathtaking and we love walking and exploring. St Ives beaches are only a ten minute walk away and if we have been elsewhere for the day it is lovely to walk down into the town in the evening to find something to eat and have a walk.
