I have lived in Tighnabruaich with my partner Joyce for 25 years.
We have a good knowledge of the local area and are able to advise guests on things to do and where to go, whether by land or sea.
David Burt purchased this cottage in 1999
Situated on an elevated position overlooking the Kyles of Bute. The cottage is less than 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village, yet completely private. The patio has a southerly aspect with stunning views over to the Isle of Bute and down the west Kyle.
The area is popular with cyclists & walkers with many designated routes including the Cowal Way.
Enjoy a round of golf on the 9 hole course with fantastic views all round. Play tennis on the all weather court, but be careful as the views of passing yachts may take you eye off the ball.
Further past the village you can catch mackerel off the pier or hire Morag, a converted fishing boat, for an hour or more to explore the area by sea.
Great location for exploring the Cowal peninsula and Argyll's secret coast. Close to the village with Post Office, Art Gallery, Bistro, Hotel and Grocery Store.
Last year saw the village host part of the Fife regatta with over thirty of these famous sailing yachts moored here for a few days. Tall ships regularly sail past and you may see dolphins, porpoises or basking sharks.
We loved this place! We booked it last minute as we were in the middle of a bathroom renovation and we all needed a break, me, my husband and our two kids (8 and 11). David communicated with us via email and gave us all the information we needed. We found the cottage no problem and parked near the little shop on the main road. The cottage was warm, beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was clean and well maintained. Even though the weather was wild, we felt safe and cosy and the seating area and garden to the front was used when the rain stopped! Thankfully, Easter Sunday the sun shone and we walked along the beach to the local hotel for coffee and cake. What a wonderful break, loved it!
