About Robert Hordley

We are Karen and Rob and live here in Pembrokeshire on our 8 acre smallholding. Karen teaches at a local Primary School, whilst Rob is a retired teacher working for the local authority on their educational platform. We have one son and daughter, who have now gone their separate ways, one in Motor Sports Engineering the other a Graphic Designer.

We love the outdoors that Pembrokeshire offers, walking the dog, a border collie call Bramble, along the Coast Path, on the beach or up the mountains.

Our main passions - the garden, classic cars and Pembrokeshire.

Robert Hordley purchased this cottage in 1996

Why Robert Hordley chose Pembrokeshire

We moved to Pembrokeshire from Shropshire, via Oxfordshire, following Robs' career path in education. We were fortunate to be able to purchase such a beautiful Farm House which is set in 8 acres of countryside on the outskirts of Haverfordwest. Yet the town and its facilities are only a few minutes away.

Centrally located within the County means that we can visit all areas of Pembrokeshire, from the Preseli Hills in the North, St Davids in the North West, the surfing beaches to the West and the popular holiday resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot to the South.

What makes this cottage unique

Located at the end of a private lane and with a very large garden, wood, fields, stream and pond we can offer our guest a relaxing hideaway holiday, yet for those more adventurous of you then the sights and delights of Pembrokeshire are only a few minutes away. Sailing on the river, golf course (10 minutes away), beaches, coastal walks, trips to the Islands etc - well come and find out for yourself. You will be more than welcome.

Warm and homely cottage and very well equipped

  • 5 of 5

We only had a brief stay but found the cottage well equipped and close to anything we may have needed. The grounds are stunning and it's really quiet and peaceful, ideal for a quiet getaway. Shops and the town are very close by, yet you hear nothing from the town in the grounds. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough. Definitely one of our favorites so far.

a cottage with character

  • 5 of 5

A clever conversion of part of an old farmhouse, with furnishings to match. Well laid out, with all you need for an activity base or a relaxing break. Location is good to reach all of Pembrokeshire, and an easy walk into town for meals, shops etc. Nature watchers and railway fans will love this cottage. It has 10 acres of interest, including patios, gardens, stream and woodland.

The owner is friendly and helpful.

Only slight downside was the unmade road access which has some potholes and puddles.
