A comfortable house with lovely views overlooking Mevagissey Harbour and the sea.
Enjoy a coffee on the balcony and enjoy these spectacular views. It's a short walk downhill to Mevagissey village where there is a good range of pubs, eateries and shops. A walk or short drive to Heligan Gardens and at St Austell, the Eden Project. Water sports are available in Pentewan the next village. We love the glorious beaches at Caerhays and Gorran Haven or Carne Beach to name but a few. Winnie's View is spacious, light and airy and multi level in style. On the ground floor the open plan dining area and well equipped kitchen, utility/shower room and loo are found. Stairs lead down to the lounge and up to the master bedroom, a few more stairs from there lead up to the main bathroom, bedrooms 2 and 3. A pretty enclosed south facing garden and patio. The house has comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen and plenty of storage for all your kit, There is an open fire for cosy evenings in the cooler seasons. Oil fired central heating. Free wifi, the TV has chromecast to allow you to stream your favourite movies from your smart phone. Linen and towels are included. Visitors are welcome to bring a dog, please ask if you have more than one. Please note that flat parking is available for 2 standard cars and steps lead down to the front door. As of February we have completed the replacement of all our mattresses, so, with light blocking curtains you'll be sure of comfortable nights.

Another wonderful stay!
We first visited Winnie's View back in 2020 and were very impressed with the house then. We had booked to revisit in 2021 but due to a family emergency that had to be cancelled. We came back in May 2023 and were even more impressed with house. A new very stylish bathroom has been added. The house has good sized bedrooms, is spotlessly clean and well situated overlooking Mevagissey Harbour with close access to the coastal path and walks down to the harbour. Mevagissey is a favourite place to visit for us and Winnie's View makes it even better. We have no hesitation in recommending Winnie's View. Our dog enjoyed the house and garden as well as the local green just outside for an early morning run. We hope to be back soon. Thanks for another memorable stay.

Wonderful property walking distance from Mevagissey harbour and all the lovely restaurants and pubs.
We loved it so much we will be booking again for next year. Such great views and only a 5 minute stroll to the harbour and restaurants and pubs. Great base to explore the area with so many beauty spots within a short drive. We found two wonderful beaches a short distance away where our dog could play off the lead in the middle of summer. Highly recommend.

About the host

Hosted by Elsa Mckenzie

Host profile image
This house belonged to Winnie, my mother in law, she had wonderful holidays here, visiting relatives, swimming from local beaches and she always welcomed family and friends. We have been holidaying in Mevagissey for a long time. Alastair is a civil engineer who visited family in the area as a child, Elsa teaches part time. Our 4 grown up children continue to visit the house with their children and partners. Since the early days we have continued to update and improve Winnie's View into a lovely comfortable home from home for our visitors. Our recent projects include the addition of a balcony and installation of a shower on the ground floor as part of a refurbishment of the utility room.

Why they chose this property

Our children at all ages have always been very fond of Mevagissey and have many happy memories of their holidays there. Now they are nearly all grown up and some have children of their own and they still love to visit with us or with their friends.
The south Cornish coast is just stunning, we are now endeavouring to walk the coast path (in chunks). The beaches are beautiful surrounded by amazing landscapes. Winnie's View can be used as a base for exploration, visits to many attractions, or as a comfortable place to return to after a long day at the beach. The house is comfortable, well equipped and practical with space for people, their kit and parking for 2 cars. It's a short walk down to the village for pubs, shops and a walk round the harbour. Fishing is still taking place in Mevagissey as you will see by the number of fishing boats in the harbour. Local fish is very fresh and can be bought from the kiosk on the inner harbour. The views from the house never cease to amaze, winter or summer.

What makes this property unique

The amazing view and the changing light on the sea is a tonic for our stress levels!
