Wonderful little cottage in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This was an ideal cottage for a couple to use as a base to explore the very beautiful North Norfolk Coast. Ours was only a short 4 day stay but we managed to see some lovely countryside and coastline despite the initially very poor weather. Highlights (apart from Holt itself) included Cromer, Holkham Bay, Wells next the Sea, Cley (and the local recently opened Norfolk Wildlife Trust Visitors Centre set in a stunning position to view the salt marshes).

Byfords Cafe/Restaurant in Holt provided very tasty meals at very reasonable prices with very friendly staff.

The cottage itself is in a lovely position close to the centre of Holt. It is very clean and well presented with all the facilities you will need for a self contained holiday break. We can highly recommend this property.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in easy walking distance to the town and all it's amenities, walk out of the door and straight into the countryside for great walks with the dog and child!!

Super clean and well maintained, would readily recommend to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Norfolk.

Can't wait to be "Home Again"

Further Details:

Well behaved dogs welcome

Situated on a hill top in open countryside, “HOME AGAIN” is ideally placed to explore the local landscape. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways and the local nature area Spout Hills, is well worth a visit. Holt Country Park and Holt Lowes are also close to the town and ideal places to go for a stroll in the evening.

Holt is well known for its shops, cafes and local hostelries. At Baker and Larner, you can buy anything from a tap washer to caviar. Byfords Café and Delicatessen is one of the best in the area, but Albert’s Fish & Chip Shop is always our first stop.

Our favourite time in Holt is at Christmas, when the town centre sparkles with light from mid-November and Holt turns into a mini-Harrods.

Well worth a go is the steam train that runs on the Poppy Line which takes you through the beautiful North Norfolk countryside to Sheringham.

A short drive soon gets you to Sheringham Park, Brickling Hall Gardens and Fellbrigg Hall Gardens & Park. There are many more National Trust properties and RSPB Nature & Bird Reserves in the area to search out and visit. Not forgetting the many picturesque villages and towns in the locality for you to explore.

From Morston or Blakeney Quays, you can take a boat trip to see the nearby seal colony at the Blakeney Point Nature Reserve.

If you’re a beach person, the beaches at the nearby coastal resorts of Cromer and Sheringham are only a few minutes away by car. If you do not drive, there is a great local bus service to the coast. No excuses for missing out on a paddle!

So pack your walking boots and your bathers, “HOME AGAIN” is just the place for that get away!
