Apartment in Berlin, Germany - Very Quiet In Spite Of Being In The Very City Centre (Theatre District)

The fully furnished Apartment is on 1. floor of a listed building in Berlin-Mitte. Bode-Museum on Museums Island, Oranienburger Strasse with the Synagogue and Hackescher Markt, Brandenburg Gate,"Unter den Linden“, Humboldt-University, Berlin Cathedral, Alexander Platz and Checkpoint Charlie are only 10 walking minutes away. The whole area is dotted with art galleries and theatres: that’s why we call our apartment "East End“! Two quiet double bedrooms situated in opposite corners of the large flat offer space for 4 PAX. A fit person could sleep on the sofa in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom has a bath tub with shower, toilet and a washing machine. Towels and sheets are provided as is the Wi-Fi Broadband internet. Recommended for people with allergies. (We have easy-to-clean wooden floors and anti-allergic mattresses). No pets and no smoking allowed - but children are very welcome!

A 5% city tax applies and will be collected cash on arrival by our caretaker. If you are a business traveler you are tax exempt if you provide a form to prove the business trip.

Vidgis from Norway: This is a real find of an apartment! A real home away from home. Nice and spacious with high ceilings, lots of nice little touches and very clean and tidy. We could walk almost anywhere from the apartment (shopping, culture, dining), but if you want to go further a field, the apartment is also close to all sorts of public transport. The flat is in an inner courtyard so very quiet and with no neighbours looking directly into the apartment. Dagmar was extremely helpful and nice. We'll be back here next time we visit Berlin.

Great location for touring Berlin

The apartment was very comfortable for our group of 3, could easily accommodate a 4th. The only meal we ate in was breakfast but the kitchen met our needs. We bought a 7 day transit pass and learned to love the apartment's close proximity to the Friedrichstrasse station. Museum Island and the Berlin Dom are within walking distance. Interactions with owner and manager were easy.

A perfectly located, high quality and spacious apartment

We stayed during the last week of October for four nights. Communication up to our arrival was very good and responsive. On arrival we were greeted by Dagmar (local caretaker) who introduced the accommodation and surrounding areas. The apartment was very warm and cosy despite nice high ceilings and spacious rooms. There was nothing missing which we would have either expected or required. The price is somewhat of a premium but you are paying for the location which is understandable. Connection to airports via the railways is excellent and relatively easy to navigate. Highly recommend both the accommodation and the owner.

Excellent stay in a gorgeous spacious apartment with a fantastic central location, but so quiet

Lovely apartment - very spacious - easily fits 2 couples. Large airy living room and also kitchen. Both bedrooms were lovely. Like being in someone's home ! Very warming and ideal location - right nextdoor to main station. All mods cons available and Dagmar was very helpful when we arrived with lots of hints and tips. All beautifully furnished and a real bonus with all the maps, guide books and tourist bits. Booking was very easy and efficient. Would have been lovely to have another toilet in the little room next to the bathroom.

spacious and well located

My wife and I have rented dozens of apartments in European cities over the years. This one ranks toward the top. The first thing you notice is the HUGE size, really unusual for rental apartments. We were hanging out in the kitchen one night, and my wife said, "Oh, I don't feel like walking all the way to the living room to get the brochure". You get the picture. I love to cook, and the apt. offers a huge well appointed kitchen with gas cooking. There are high ceilings, so you get the distinct feeling you're in Old Europe. There are stairs to climb from the street, if that's an issue and there are no English TV channels.

Dagmar, your host, speaks very good English, and she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and well-taken care of. Kudos to her!

Location couldn't be better; all forms of public transportation are within a stone's throw, and the Berlin subway system is easy to figure out, even if you don't ride the NYC subways all the time as I do.

Location

From the Owner

Berlin is our second home! That is why we have an Apartment here. The area is just perfect for us when we arrive from super tranquil Ibiza. In spite of being in the city's centre the apartment is very quite as it is located in the back yard of the building. All of the places and activities we like we can reach by bicycle, even visiting our friends in the old West. Mitte is the place if you enjoy shows, going to the theatre and visiting exhibitions and the like. The river Spree is just around the corner as are most of the important Museums of Berlin.

Nearest Airport : Berlin Tegel at 10 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : at 100 Metres Nearest Train : 5 min at 150 Metres Nearest Motorway : at 3 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : at 100 Metres Car: not necessary

Travel:

Airport Tegel is 15 car minutes away, Airport Schönefeld about 30 minutes.

You reach the main station in 2 minutes by train.

A car is not essential if you want to explore the city!

Bikes can be rented near by.

Distances:

A ten minute walk take you past the Bode-Museum and Monbijou-Bridge, onto lively Oranienburger Strasse with its international restaurants, the Synagogue, the cultural center „Tacheles,“ and to the renowned courtyards of Hackescher Markt. If you head into the opposite direction you’ll reach the Brandenburg Gate, the boulevard "Unter den Linden“, Humboldt-University and Berlin Cathedral.

The former heart of East-Berlin - the Alexander Platz and Checkpoint Charlie - are not far either.

The location made us buy this apartment - you cannot be more central in Berlin and have a view onto a leafy lush garden, away from traffic noise and pollution. Close to the river, everything in walking distance, great for cycling, no car needed, and if one does, a garage is around the corner. Vibrant and alive area once you step out of the house, cross the river and dive into the "Scheunenviertel" near the Synagogue…
