Delightful 'coin' for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week, with superb weather - which is always the critical factor. The villa is charming, situated in a decent-sized plot with nicely-arranged lawns and trees, plus walled privacy/security. Local springs provide quality water, supplying a lovely pool which is perfect for sunbathers and cooling off. The shaded patio is ideal for meals, relaxing & reading. There is a good range of local supermarkets and restaurants, while the village markets add some colour. The roads are excellent - a car is recommended for convenience and exploring this delightful region. Gillian & David are people of taste and good communicators. We never do anything twice, but I suspect it would not take much to persuade us to visit again :-)

Charmed

  • 4 of 5

We just had such a great time.....Both Gillian and David, the owners, went out of their way to ensure our holiday was fabulous. We were all immediately smitten with the villa, the terraces and garden. It was all very easy, the supermarket is just down the road, pretty villages nearby for outings, booked the tennis court at Villecroze a few evenings and the weather was just perfect. The house is definitely a home rather than a rental and decorated with an innate style and charm. We'll cherish the memories for a long while. Thank you.

Beautiful property & great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week staying at La Bergerie Rose. We have stayed in a number of properties in the area, but this is now one of our favourites. The whole property is beautiful - the outside space & pool is lovely - perfect for the kids to play and for us to enjoy eating outside. The house is great, large enough to give you space, but with a nice homely feeling (and great to have WiFi provided!). We travelled with young children (4+7) & grandparents and the layout worked well for us (however if maybe difficult having kids upstairs if you have very young children). The location is also good, well placed between 2 villages, but quiet and peaceful. The hosts are extremely helpful providing useful information before our stay, which sets you up for a great holiday. We would definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend it to others.

Family fun AND relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay at this great property with our three young children and their grandparents. Loved the layout of the house and gardens as we all managed to relax and enjoy different pockets without getting on top of each other. The pool was a welcome home coming after visiting the fantastic local markets and coming home to prepare all our goodies. Great family friendly restaurants nearby and an easy drive to all the main attractions on the Cote D'Azur. We loved this area as it is full of character and a real Provencal experience without the crowds.

Location

From the Owner

We love the area as so much to do - the markets and the food and the restaurants. There are so many villages to visit - we love walking around Tour Tour or visiting the L'Occitane factory in Manosque via the lavender fields. Another favourite is St Tropez in winter or summer people watching and looking at the yachts. Our boys love canyoning in the Gorges a new sport we have found and we have done all the main canyons - en route stopping at the fabulous Moustiers Ste Marie. A tour of the chateau at Entrecasteaux is another of the boys favourite complete with skeletons in the prison dungeon. We love our neighbours most of which we know and we love our very own 400 year old viaduct and the walk to Villecroze. We will leave full details on everything you can do in the area!
