38, Church Street is a delightful, spacious cottage in the old part of Padstow, opposite the parish church of St. Petroc. It accepts well behaved pets (at no extra charge), has free Wi-Fi, three bedrooms & an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The kitchen is very well equipped with a ceramic hob electric cooker, washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, freezer & microwave etc. There is a radio/CD player in the kitchen/dining area, the dining area has seating for 6 people & the sitting area has two sofas, gas fire & TV with freeview HD & DVD. The three bedrooms are, a king size, a double & a twin room, a bathroom with bath, wc., shower, washbasin, hairdryer & shaver point. The cottage has a paved garden area at the rear, gas central heating & a parking permit is provided for one vehicle to use the Lawn (PL28 8EB) or Station (PL28 8DA) car park. The closest beach at Harbour Cove (Tregirls) is dog friendly all year round.

Amazing Cottage !

This is an amazing cottage in a wonderful location. The cottage was extremely clean and welcoming and is well equipped and very comfortable. Having such a home from home so close to the harbour is a real treat. We will definitely book again when staying in Padstow.

Great cottage!

The cottage was really lovely. It was clean, spacious, well equipped, warm and comfortable. The location is perfect, close to everything but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre so as not to be disturbed. Having the parking token was a bonus and the road outside is wide enough for you to pull up for half an hour without causing mayhem.

The only reason I haven't given this property a 5, and will be booking somewhere else in Padstow this autumn, is that there was an overwhelming stale smell which appears to have impregnated everything in the cottage. Despite having all the windows open, and the front and back doors when we were in (rather chilly) we couldn't seem to shift the pungent smell of cigarettes. A real shame, but I guess it would have been just too perfect otherwise.

Owner's Response: I can only apologise for the smell as unfortunately, despite being a non-smoking property, I was horrified to find that the previous guests had been smoking inside the cottage! Thank goodness, I can guarantee, that there is now, no stale smell.

There are a many spectacular beaches nearby, the closest being Harbour Cove just a 15 minute walk or 10 minute drive. There is also Trevone Bay 2 miles drive, Harlyn Bay 3 miles drive, popular with surfers & with a surf school, Treyarnon Bay, Constantine Bay & Porthcothan Bay all within 2-6 mile drive away.


The nearest airport is about 12 miles away at Newquay & the nearest train station is about 17 miles at Bodmin Parkway.


The historic house of Prideaux Place is just around the corner. The nearest larger town is Wadebridge 8 miles away.

Padstow is full of excellent restaurants including Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant, St. Petroc's Bistro & Middle Street Cafe, also the Michelin starred No 6 run by Paul Ainsworth, The Basement, Margot's & Rojano's. There are also many lovely pubs/restaurants, lots of great shops & a lovely little wine shop/champagne bar in The Drang, called Bin Two.

There is a Post Office in town with a Barclays & Lloyds Bank & a host of leisure facilities in & around the harbour.

With it's own award winning butcher Padstow Farm Shop is the place to visit for top quality local produce, find it just on the outskirts of Padstow at Trethillick Farm, PL28 8HJ.www.padstowfarmshop.co.uk

  • Notes on accommodation: A parking permit is provided for one vehicle to use in the LAWN (PL28 8EB) or STATION (PL28 8DA) car park.There is a strictly non-smoking policy & free Wi-Fi available. Cots, highchairs & a stairgate are available at no extra charge. Well behaved pets are welcome at no extra charge, downstairs only please. Outside: 38 Church Street has a paved garden at the rear with flower beds around, a rotary clothes line, garden furniture & a barbecue.
