About the Owner

Sue and I are early retirees from primary teaching. We spend our summers in France and live next door to the gite. We have owned the two properties for ten years spending the first three years converting the dilapidated houses, barn and stables into the houses we now have.

We take a great pride in giving guests an enjoyable stay and are on hand with advice and help. We provide a welcome pack, including wine, to help guests have a good time.

Beautiful, tranquil, perfectly equipped.

One of the best gites we have stayed in - great facilities and a warm welcome.

A fantastic gite with all amenities to keep families, both young and old happy, and all in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

Another fantastic holiday at Le Four a Pain

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to the gite. We went for a week in 2013 and liked it so much that we stayed for a fortnight this time. The gite is fantastic and so well equipped. Our son loves the pool, huge trampoline and basketball hoop and we all enjoyed playing badminton as well as darts, pool and table football in the evening. There is lots to do in the local area including some fantastic lakes with beaches and water sports and a tree rope centre (the white and green courses are great - blue is a bit scary!). Malcolm and Sue the owners make you feel so welcome and provide a fantastic welcome pack. They are on hand to answer any questions and always respond quickly to email queries beforehand. I cannot recommend this highly enough if you are looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful setting with all the amenities you would ever need!

Fantastic location, friendly owners and great val

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay here last summer. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The gite was very comfortable with gorgeous countryside views. Our children had a great time with plenty of space to play and a pool. We will definitely be returning soon.

From the Owner

The area is like England 60 years ago. Gentle, rolling countryside with a relaxed lifestyle amongst friendly people. It is a very peaceful location with only 3 other occupied houses in the hamlet.
