We stayed at the villa in October 2013 and was absolutely wonderful! The villa is beautiful, peaceful, and the pool is amazing! Totally relaxation. We loved every minute. Definitely going back!

Loverly Villa in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Santorini is a beautiful island to visit and the views are spectacular.

Villa Anthos is in a lovely location and Akrotiri is a very quiet and peaceful. All of the tavernas in Akrotiri provide great food and you have a good choice of a couple of small supermarkets with everything you might need - all within 10 - 15 minutes walking distance.

The villa is maintained spotlessly clean, the grounds are lovely and there is plenty of room. The pool is beautifully maintained and you can always find somewhere shady and sunny to sit throughout the day. You can easily walk into the village in 10 minutes for supplies and all of the restaurants provide lovely food at reasonable prices. The owners Alan and Phyll have thought of everything and their attention to detail was superb. They also kindly provided a torch at the villa but I would advise bringing one as a back up (just in case) for the evening as the paths into the village or a bit hit and miss as is the case in much of Greece. We spent most days by the villa and pool as it was so nice and it was really difficult to tear ourselves away to go sightseeing sometimes.

The villa itself is in beautiful condition and contains everything you could possibly need, including a washing machine, cleaning materials and dishwasher tablets - everything has been thought of! As previous reviewers have stated the owners are really helpful and professional. We would definitely recommend Santorini as a holiday destination as its a lovely quiet island and we would love to stay at the Villa Anthos again.

A lovely place to stay on a beautiful island

  • 5 of 5

Santorini is a wonderful island to visit. There are numerous pretty towns & it's not just all about Oia, although Oia is stunningly beautiful. Also, the island is small enough to mean that everything is within easy reach. We traveled to Oia for the evening a few times, it's about 40 minutes away.

Villa Anthos is in a lovely spot. The nice thing about The Akrotiri is that it is very quiet & peaceful compared to the bustle of the main towns.

The villa & grounds are lovely & spacious. The pool was much bigger than we expected & is beautifully maintained. There is always somewhere shady or sunny to sit at all times of the day & you can easily walk into the village in 5 minutes for supplies & a number of very nice restaurants. The beaches in Santorini aren't anything special & we found the villa & pool to be far more appealing, so much so that it was really difficult to tear ourselves away to go sightseeing sometimes.

The villa itself is in beautiful condition & contains everything you could possibly need. The owners are really helpful & professional & make the booking process totally painless.

I'd definitely recommend Santorini as a holiday destination & Villa Anthos as the perfect place to stay.

Beautiful villa in this lovely Island

  • 5 of 5

Villa Anthos is a wonderful place to stay. Away from the hubub of Fera and Oiya but still within easy reach by car or bus. The villa is very well maintained and clean offering everything we needed for a family of 6 adults. The pool and BBQ got well used. Akrotiri village is a short walk away involving passing stunning views of the Caldera or via a shorter but scrubby track/building site. We eat at 2 lovely restaurants in the village, there may be more. There is also a car hire place which regrettably we did not use. We hired from the UK, big mistake as Auto Union car hire provided us with a real heap of junk almost dangerous. Avoid them at all costs. The Villa however made up for it. Highly recommended in all aspects and just as described in the details. A super stay.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Villa Anthos, however we are extremely sorry to hear that the car hire was a disappointment. We aim to give our guests the best possible holiday and although you had a bad experience with the car, we hope your stay in santorini was a one to remember. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kindest Regards and very Best Wishes, Phyll and Alan

Really comfortable Villa in Akrotiri

  • 5 of 5

The villa is close to the village of Akrotiri. The owners, Allan and Phyll are very friendly and made the whole booking experience easy. The bedrooms are modern and comfortable and have air conditioning, which was a real bonus as Santorini experienced a real heat wave when we were there. The kitchen is perfect for cooking, though there are a number of really good restaurants nearby if you want to escape a hot stove!. There is also a very good small supermarket in the village and we did not feel the need to visit the larger supermarkets on the island. We are not keen on driving abroad and the local facilities were fine, so we did not hire a car, though you can do this in the village itself if you so wish. Outside the villa there were places to sit in the shade whatever the time of day and a swimming pool to help cool down in the heat! Akrotiri is a great place to stay as it is not as bustling and crowded as Oia and Fira. The Ancient Thira site is close by and a must if you visit the island.

Great villa!

Beautiful Villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just had a fabulous two weeks at Villa Anthos. The Villa was thoughtfully set out and very well equipped. Immaculatey clean, pretty furnishings, stunning pool which was cleaned every day. Beautiful views from the balconies, pretty garden and breathtaking view from the end of the road. A short walk into the village where there was a well stocked mini supermarket and several tavernas.

The ruins at Akrotiri within walking distance and well worth a visit.

Santorini is a stunning island with plenty of wonderful places to visit. We thoroughly recommend it!

Location

From the Owner

Santorini is a magical place and from the first time we went we were hooked. The views, the sunsets, the unspoilt island even though of its fame, is quiet and peaceful. But as well as that there is great, vibrant life to be found in the resorts and Fira.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Kamari at 10 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : 10 minutes drive at 6 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Caldera beach / red beach at 2 Kilometres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

2 minutes walk to uninterrupted views of the Caldera Sea. 5 minutes by car to nearest beach, where there is a deep sea diving school, 8/10 minutes by car to Red Beach. 15 and 20 minutes drive to the 2 main resorts of which Perissa, the nearest, has water-sports , hammocks, comfy sofas, and massage tables, bars and restaurants.

Travel:

Santorini Airport is 20 minutes from the villa and has flights direct from Manchester, Birmingham and Gatwick . The channel port is 10 minutes away- perfect for island hopping to the other islands. A car is recommended should you wish to explore the island but there is very good bus service. The nearest bus stop is 5 minutes walk.

Distances:

Akrotiri is 5 minutes walk and the visitors archeological excavation site is situated 15 minutes walk, close to Red beach. Oia is 30 minutes by car.The 2 resorts of Perissa and Kamari are 15/20 minutes drive of which Kamari has an outdoor cinema, and where you can also walk to the Ancient Thira ruins on the hill between the resorts. The main town of Fira is 15 minutes drive , where there are museums and good restaurants.Romantic sunsets can be seen from most parts of the island

Further Details:

The village has 2 supermarkets, several tavernas, car hire, excavation site, and is on a bus route which can take you all round the island. It is 5 minutes walk to the bus stop. There are many small unique villages in the area which have good restaurants and facilities. And also many tavernas surrounding the villa have fantastic views of the sea and the sunsets. There are some lovely walks taking in the views and should you have an interest in cycling, bikes are available to enjoy the amazing scenic but demanding route up to Oia, at the top of the island and back along the coastline. Santo Winery is 10 minutes drive where you can have the perfect lazy afternoon sampling local wines with cheese, olives and crusty bread while soaking up the amazing view of the Caldera
