This quiet, enclosed and beautiful complex, just 400 metres from the best beach in Fuengirola, is of 21st century construction but, in December 2013, this apartment has been completely refurbished and Central Heating installed for winter stays plus air-conditioning in all of the bedrooms plus the lounge. The apartment boasts all the main UK TV channels (all BBC, all ITV, Channels 4 and 5, several children's and film channels via wifi. The apartment also has its own private Free WiFi signal. A rare feature too is the huge 40 m2 balcony terrace with superb views and overlooking the super gardens, pool and across the Mijas Valley. There is air-con unit in the lounge and all bedrooms but, in fact, the sun does not hit any bedroom windows which is ideal for summer avoiding any greenhouse effect. The whole apartment also boasts new furniture, equipment, linen etc throughout, own wifi signal, central heating and has a real touch of style. The huge private West-facing terrace of 40 m2 (about 430 ft square) provides room for all to sunbathe and dine whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the pool immediately below the terrace. The terrace faces across the Mijas Valley and the views are stunning. The terrace also has 2 fully retractable overhead sun blinds (one for each half) which one can open or close in seconds depending on whether you want sun or shade at any time. The Myramar Shopping mall with some 80 boutiques and the biggest supermarket in Fuengirola is just 350 metres away. The 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and one twin) are beautifully done and the two full bathrooms mean no queues or crowding. This property also boasts central heating throughout...ideal for that winter stay.

The apartment is ideally located for food and entertainment too. Within a short walking distance, there are dozens of bars, restaurants, cafes etc along the sea-front and also in other streets behind the sea-front.

The apartment has its own private parking space under the complex so, although everything you need is accessible on foot, you can park a hire car there too for those trips to visit a little further afield. The apartment is located on the ground floor of the complex so access to it from the street is completely wheelchair suitable. The main terrace, however, sits some 5 metres above the community gardens and pool so there is no security concern from the terrace.

About David Greene

I am a British Chartered Accountant and I came to live and work in Spain in 1998 after a long-ish career in corporate finance. On arriving in Spain, as a complete change of lifestyle, I opened a very successful French restaurant which I later sold very well. I then owned and ran a small, successful real estate office but closed it when the property market went quiet here in 2007. I speak fluent French and an improving Spanish too. I have been advertising here since 2007 (ref 8019810).

I am a friendly and approachable guy and I want to make sure that my guests are happy with everything and, thankfully, I seem to succeed in that. I expect high standards when I go on holiday and I always assume that my guests expect the same from me.

I live just a few minutes away near the port of Fuengirola.

Why David Greene chose Fuengirola

I bought this property in December 2013 because it is superbly located so close to the beach, shops, bars, restaurants etc and yet is within a quiet, secure complex with super community pool and gardens. The size of the terrace is exceptional and provides space for everyone to relax, dine, sunbathe whilst enjoying the ability to oversee the kids at the pool below and enjoy the stunning views over the gardens and pool to the Mijas Valley and the mountains. Although there is also private underground parking, no car is necessary because all of that which one needs is within easy walking distance.

What makes this apartment unique

Tranquility, location, private space inside and outside, privacy, wheelchair access, no noise from passersby either on foot or by car both daytime and nighttime, all the main UK TV channels and more, own WiFi, private parking, air-conditioning in all bedrooms, central heating for the winter are all attributes that make this an exceptional property. The size and layout of the apartment with two bathrooms, good-sized kitchen and huge 40m2 terrace show that it was clearly designed for permanent family living rather than just as a bolt hole for holidays. There are some other properties that can boast some of these attributes but very few that can boast all of them.

This review was posted on homeaway.co.uk (ref 1332009). We just spent a lovely week at this apartment and it was such a pleasant change from our previous experiences of renting on the Costa del Sol. David’s apartment is refurbished and beautifully furnished and has all the mod cons you need. Two things also stood out…the huge terrace which we spent most of our time on and the peace and quiet of the complex (and the great pool there) even though it was just a few minutes walk from the sea front. Such a pleasant change from trying to sleep with noisy drunks outside all night like last year when we stayed on the sea front.The shopping centre was only five minutes on foot away too so we had a great relaxing holiday and intend book at David’s apartment again. Notes on accommodation: The changeover day each week in the period from May to September is Sunday. In the remainder of the year, the changeover day can be more flexible. Arrival time is 2pm (14.00 hours) and departure time by 10am (10.00 hours). Outside: The huge terrace overlooks the community pool (approx 60m2) and gardens which have plenty of room for sunbathing. The pool is open from April to October each year. The private terrace has plenty of space for sunbathing (sun beds), dining and relaxing for all. Barbecue and all of the necessary furniture and equipment are provided. Utility Room: There is no separate utility room however, to the rear of the kitchen is a second private terrace of some 18 m2 very handy for drying washing, keeping beach and pool equipment etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is fully cleaned, bed linen, towels etc changed before arrival of guests. Bed linen changed weekly for stays of longer than one week. No additional cleaning costs. No maid service but this can be arranged on demand at the guests' expense. Other: In the period from May to October, the most important 'room' is almost certainly the terrace. Unlike most apartments, this one boasts a huge terrace bigger than the lounge in fact and will no doubt be where guests will spend most of their time.

Fuengirolas holiday home gem.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 weeks. We were met at the property by David who is a very friendly and likeable person. He fully explained everything we needed to know and provided a contact number.

The property is very clean and well maintained.It is very spacious and would easily accomodate 6 people without any cramping whatsoever. All you will need to self cater is provided in the kitchen.

The patio is fabulous, having masses of space(fab views). There are sunbeds a table and chairs and a swingseat. The sun moves fully around at about 1.30 and shines on the patio till dark, perfect for that tan.

The pool outside was shut at this time of the year but looks great.The gardens and public areas are well maintained and very clean.

Although we had a car as we like to visit other cities one is not needed here.(there is underground parking provided).

We are both in our 60's and found the walk to the beach very easy to do.The same can be said for a stroll to the Miramar shopping center.(even easier,5 minutes). From there we often walked into Fuengirola town.

There are lots of english TV channels for those who want them and a very reliable WiFi signal.

We will be looking to book again here and would highly recommend this self catering apartment to all . A hidden gem indeed.

Excellent apartment, would recommend

Excellent apartment, nice size for a family and very clean. We stayed as 4 adults and 2 young children (ages 6 and 2). David, the owner, kept in touch throughout the whole booking process and was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Good location, only a short walk to the beach (albeit hilly, so you may want to consider a car if thinking of going further afield) and to the Myramar shopping centre where you can find a variety of shops and a good size supermarket. The pool is lovely, and has a shallow end for the less advanced swimmers, but there is no baby pool for the very little ones.

The apartment is some 20 metres above sea level so, coming back from the beach, which is 400 metres away, there is indeed a slope up for part of the way but this is not a problem unless one has mobility difficulties. Most of my guests do not hire a car because none is necessary and these guests did not either. However, if one wishes to visit other towns then a hire car is a good idea although there is a very good bus service and, going East to Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Malaga etc, a very good train service too.

Perfect Getaway

This is a super apartment, very clean, well equipped, comfortable, easy to get too, easy to live in, great views from the terrace, easy walking distance to everything you could possibly need.

The beach is a 5 min stroll and it really quiet private, nice bar with comfortable sun beds. Loads of lovely restaurants close by, large shopping mall close too with a huge Carrefour and a go cart track on the top.

David the owner took great care of us, he called and arranged a taxi to collect us to take us on a trip to Marbella which was very much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate in booking again, in fact I've tried but the apartment and his villa are so popular they are hard to get back to this summer!

This is not only because of the facilities and space that they offer but also because, unlike so many others listed as such, genuinely are located within the town of Fuengirola. Both are also just 400 metres from the beach and within walking distance of all of the town's amenities, shops, bars, restaurants and so much more. I and my small cleaning and maintenance team work very hard to keep up high standards and it is very rewarding when appreciation of our efforts is expressed like this. Fantastic apartment!

We had a wonderful stay in Fuengirola and it was mostly down to how brilliant we found the apartment. David was very accomodating on arrival giving us hints and tips on the area. The apartment itself was extremely well looked after and more than spacious enough for 6 adults. It was also very well equipped and we were found wanting for nothing. The terrace is a fantastic asset, very big area and we gladly made use of the bbq. The location is also very good, with only a 10 minute stroll to the beaches/bars and restaurants. It also is well located with only a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre, which has a huge Carrefour supermarket and many other shopping outlets. I would highly recommend this apartment and if I return to Fuengirola I would certainly stay here again.

Winter Sunshine

The apartment is amazing, beautifully set out and extremely spacious. Clean and well presented, a real home from home. Ample space for the 6 of us, the photographs of the terrace don't do it justice, it was beautiful, the best way to watch the sun go down of an evening.

Spent most days at the beach which is a 10 minute walk away, were were extremely lucky with the weather too, peaked at 31 degrees on one afternoon! Very enjoyable, will definitely return if/when we visit Fuengirola again.

The terrace is indeed exceptional, about 40m2 with stunning views, and the location of the apartment is ideal being away from the sea-front night-time noise but within a 5 minute walk (or 10 minutes it seems if you walk slowly hehe). To be exact, the beach is 400 metres away.

Special interest holidays:

Apart from all of the activities normally associated with beach resort holidays, there is also paragliding which takes place in the mountains in various locations between 1 and 2 hours drive away. This can be organized locally and guests can be picked up from the apartment. Please ask David the owner for details.


The beaches in Fuengirola are all sandy and of a very high standard and boast the normal facilities (sun beds, jet ski, beach bars and restaurants etc). The widest and best beach in town is that closest to the apartment and is just 400 metres away, about 5 minutes walk.


Malaga is the nearest airport some 20kms from the apartment. A car is not necessary when staying at the apartment because local amenities and facilities are all within walking distance. A car is only advised if one wishes to visit other towns.


The apartment is located within Fuengirola and is a walk to all of the town's amenities..aqua park, zoo, beach, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping mall, skateboard park, children's play park, port, 1200 year old Moorish castle.

Fuengirola is 20kms from Malaga (new port, Picasso museum, cathedral), 15 kms from Torremolinos (party town), 20 kms Marbella (old town, boutiques, golden mile), 10kms from Benalmadena (Tivoli World theme park, Cable car) and about 115kms from Gibraltar.

The minimum rental charge is for one week. However, in the off-peak period from November to March some discount on the weekly rate may be available for periods slightly shorter than a week. In addition, in this same off-peak season, some discount may be available for longer stays of more than two weeks.

In the period from May to September, all bookings must run from a Sunday to Sunday. Demand is very high in this period and a set changeover day avoids gaps of less than a week which may not be of interest to other potential guests.

To secure a booking, the owner asks for a deposit of 25% of the rental charge. The balance of rental, along with a refundable damages deposit of £200, is payable 8 weeks before arrival. Notes on prices:
For weeks which overlap a month end, the rate charged is calculated pro rata to the number of days which fall in each month. The day of arrival is counted but not the day of departure.
In the period from November to March, significant discounts on the announced rates are available for longer stays. A very competitive monthly rate is available for winter stays of more than one month.
