Apartment in Funchal, Madeira South Coast on Rua do Comboio about a 15 minute walk down to the city. - Residential Area, 10/15 Minute Walk Into Town...Bus Back Up To The Apartment During The Week

In a small select development this apartment(BZ) is on the top floor of Block VII with a large balcony and sun awning. Lovely far reaching views of the town, harbour and out to sea. Also to the North you can see up towards Monte and the mountains. You can walk downhill into town in 10/15 minutes and bus back during the week or, of course, taxi. There is a very attractively shaped communal swimming pool with a 'Monet' style bridge and plenty of room for sun bathing. There is a luxury gym adjacent costing our guests €25 per week. The furnishings are of a high standard modern and contemporary. The large balcony, open to the sky/stars, is a very special feature of the apartment with its two subbed so, pots of flowers and small shrubs for extra privacy. Outside dining table and four chairs to enjoy the night air and warmth plus a fantastic view of the harbour and town. There is a dedicated car park space under the block.

Elaine, my partner, and I own this Villa and are happy to offer it to the Holiday Letting market when we are not using it. It is in a very convenient location being a short walk downhill into the Town Centre with a big variety of shops, restaurants and places of interest,. There is a regular bus service just a short distance from the Villa with buses going in all directions.

I currently run Best of Brighton & Sussex Cottages from my home in Rottingdean, Sussex with some 85 properties available on a self catering basis throughout Brighton & Hove and in Rottingdean, Lewes, Eastbourne and Shoreham

Notes on accommodation: High standard of accommodation throughout already described above Outside: The main feature of this apartment is the very nice spacious balcony with two sun beds, sun umbrella and sun awning. Outside table and four chairs. Loveply views of the town to the South and West as well as the harbour and to the sea beyond. Another very important feature is, of course, the communal swimming pool. As most of the apartments in this select development are second homes from overseas people the swimming pool is quite often hardly used. There is also adjacent a luxury gym which will cost our guests just €25 per week. Utility Room: N/a Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are all included...change of linen and towels each week for bookings of at least two weeks. Other: Attractive hallway with side table and lamp

excellent apartment in a great location

stayed at this apartment for a week in august and had a really enjoyable week .on arrival we were met by the maid who was very pleasant and helpful in showing us round and how everything worked etc.the apartment was very clean and well equipped. the balcony was really large and we ate all of our meals at the lovely family size table outside whilst looking over the view of funchal to the sea. pool was a good size and never very busy so we could usually get a lounger. location was excellent, just a 10 min walk down the hill to the centre of funchal where there was a good selection of shops and restaurants plus interesting places to visit ie the market, the churches and up to the tropical gardens in the cable cars if you are feeling brave! all in all it was a very good week and we felt we had great value for money with this apartment. we would definitely return and maybe do some levada walking next time.

Madeira is not known for its beaches. However there are two very nice artificial man made beaches...one is at Calheta about a half hour drive away and the other one is at Machico which can be reached by express bus.


The airport is a 25 minute drive away. The ferry to Porto Santo with its fantastic 9Km long sandy beach is a 10 minute drive away. Manuel our taxi driver is available for full or half day tours of the Island. He has different rates depending on the number of people...please see his own website by clicking onto



You are in a central location in Funchal...taking about 10/15 minutes to walk into town. Regular bus service back up the hill stopping right outside the apartment.

Further Details:

Nearby there is a regular bus service up the hill to the lovely area/village of Monte where you have the gardens to spend time in and you can then travel down on the famous Tobbogan ride!

Booking Notes:
30% of the rental is required upon booking with the balance and returnable damage deposit of £150 payable 6 weeks before the start of your stay.

Changeover Day:
We are flexible on the changeover day. Late arrivals will be asked to pay a €20 supplement to either Emily the housekeeper or to Manuel our taxi driver.

Notes on prices:
The weekly prices quoted allow for 2 to 4 people to occupy the apartment. For bookings of two weeks or more there will be a weekly change of linen and towels.

There is a returnable £150 damage deposit to be held.
