It is ideally situated to walk or drive to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. 2 bedrooms: 1 twin, 1 double.

Cove Brooke

Ideally situated property to explore Mevagissey, Eden Project, beaches and only a short and pleasant walk to Heligan. Restaurants in Mevagissey provided ample choice for day and evening meals.

The property was very clean, tidy, well equipped and comfortable and the terraced gardens were lovely, reflecting the Cornish hedgerows. We would certainly return.

Activity and Interests


10 minute stroll to the sea, coastal walks and harbour.


Nearest airport is Newquay. Mevagissey is 5 miles from the train and coach station in St. Austell. There is a regular bus service from St. Austell to Mevagissey. Use of a car is not essential as "Cove Brooke" is within walking distance of the Lost Gardens of Heligan,the South West Coastal Path and the shops, harbour, pubs and restaurants in Mevagissey and also on the bus route. Day Rovers are available on the bus to enable you to explore more of Cornwall.


The Lost gardens of Heligan is 5 minutes away by car. The Eden Project is 20 minutes by car. St. Austell is 10 minutes away by car. Fowey: 30 minutes by car. Truro: 40 minutes by car. Polperro and Falmouth: 1 hour by car.

Mevagissey has everything you need: Boots the Chemist, a bakers, green grocers (with meat supplies), newsagents with convenience store, Post Office, Lloyds Bank, fishmongers on the quay, take-away fish and chips, Chinese and Indian (for when you don't feel like cooking!!). There are numerous restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. There are also little specialist shops, a Museum, a Model Railway and an Aquarium.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is the preferred arrival day but I can be flexible! Arrival from 3pm, departure by 11am.

  • Notes on accommodation: Delightful 1930's detached dormer bungalow, spacious accommodation, set in landscaped, terraced grounds, with ample off-road parking on drive. Internet access. Outside: Well-stocked landscaped, terraced gardens, seating areas, patios. Also pond with water feature, which can be gated to prevent access if required. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: One set of bed linen and towels are provided for each guest. The property is cleaned before and after each booking. Tea towels are also provided. There are toiletries in each bathroom and a welcome pack is provided in the kitchen. Other: Dining Room. An external door from here leads to the side patio, outside table and seating area, which can be floodlit for outdoor dining. From patio, steps lead up to side lawn, pond and water feature, which can be gated to prevent access if required.
