We have a bright, south facing apartment on the Costalita Urbanization located on the New Golden Mile between San Pedro and Estepona, beach side from the village of Cancelada. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open plan living/dining area leading onto the terrace, a separate kitchen and a utility room. There is air conditioning. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. There is secure underground parking which is accessed by lift. There are marble floors throughout the apartment. We have a Wifi internet connection.

Outside there is a large shared swimming pool (used only by the neighbouring apartments) which you can see from our terrace and the main bedroom. The second bedroom has views of rolling hills in the distance.

Costalita has a reputation for being a very well-maintained development set in beautiful tropical gardens full of palm trees and flowering shrubs. A pathway from our building leads down to a sandy beach and promenade where you will find a beach bar and restaurant.

Just adjacent to Costalita is the Villa Padierna Racquet Club where you can play tennis & have a drink in their club house. There is a 24 hour security patrol in the area and Costalita apartments can only be accessed through locked gates.

There is a life guard on duty during July & August.

Our terrace is a great place for alfresco dining at our Moroccan tiled table or soaking in the sun on one of our sun loungers. From here you can almost touch the nearby palm tree and you also have a great view of the pool so you can keep an eye on your children and call them up for meals and friends for cocktails.

The apartment is well appointed and smartly furnished and we make a great effort to maintain it to a high standard. This is an ideal place for a family holiday or for those who would like to come and explore Andalucia, play golf, tennis, horse ride or go sight seeing to the famous White Villages ( Peublos Blancos ) a short drive in land from us.

From our apartment it is also easy to go on day trips to Gibraltar, Granada, Jerez and Malaga. The Costa del Sol is the warmest part of Europe in winter which makes it an attractive all season destination and we recommend it for a winter holiday when it is dark & gloomy in northern Europe as well as for summer holidays.

We have put together a House Book in which we have listed in detail many of the places to visit, things to do and instructions, in order to make sure your stay here in Costalita is relaxing, stress free, interesting and fun.

We have an Apartment Manager Barry who can be contacted during day time hours if help be needed.

We are in an area with something for everybody: be it lazing about on the beach or taking a dip in the pool - you can swim here between the end of April and the end of October. You can also play golf, tennis, cycle, visit local markets, horse ride, take yoga classes, visit the gym, explore the dramatic landscape of Andalucia with its charming White Villages including Ronda, Gaucin or visit the internationally famous marinas of the Costa del Sol. Cordoba, Seville, Granada, Marbella are also easy destinations to tour.

About Geraldine Waring

We are two school friends from London, now retired, who decided to join forces in 2003 to buy our apartment off plan because we loved the area. In 2006 it was completed and we've enjoyed some wonderful times, especially the warmth of off season while the UK is still a bit chilly! When the apartment was complete Joanna was working in London as an interior designer so it has been decorated to a high standard and artistically arranged which we are always adding to with locally bought things giving the authentic Spanish feel.

It has been a very successful venture as we, friends and families have enjoyed our stays in Costalita a great deal, getting to know the Costa del Sol and wonderful Andalucia further afield. And most of all enjoying the sunshine.

We enjoy Costalita because it is so close to the sea and beach. We are also not far from town and rural amenities. We love having a local village, Cancelada,, which is always enjoyably Spanish.

The Costa del Sol has the warmest winter weather in Europe which makes it a great all season destination. The weather in spring and autumn makes it an ideal time to play golf, horse ride, play tennis and explore the wonderfully dramatic landscape of Andalucia.

This location, whatever the time of year offers something for everyone. What makes this apartment unique

To make your stay easy and enjoyable we have put together a House Book with details of useful information, places to visit and things to do.

The apartment is comfortable with a terrace overlooking the lovely pool where you can easily watch your children or call friends up for a cocktail. The terrace is an ideal place for eating al fresco or relaxing in the sun.

We are a short drive away from local supermarkets. Carrefour in Estepona has an excellent fresh fish counter. Estepona, San Pedro, Puerto Banus are within 15 minutes by car.

The apartment has WiFi internet, tv/dvd

We are 50 minute drive from Malaga Airport and an hour from Gibraltar Airport .

There are plenty of restaurants in the area from tapas, beach bars & our favourite fish restaurant by the fish market in Estepona Har

I have had the most amazing time staying at the Costalita apartment, the apartment is very spacious and feels just like home, it has everything that I needed so we could stay in and relax. I would say that the terrace here is in the best location as it overlooks the pool. The pool is huge and it's lovely and quiet to chill out in the day. The beach is about 5 minutes walk through the beautiful gardens. Location wise the apartment is great, it's about 15 minutes to Puerto banus or around 25mins to Marbella, there is a bus stop just outside so if you don't drive this is a great way to get around or taxis are very reasonable. Geraldine was such a great help when I was looking at staying here and also there is a book of lots of things to do in the apartment which was a great help. I would definitely recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back next year!

Great stay! Perfect for a family holiday

We stayed as a family of 3 for a week in September. We have a small baby and this was our first holiday as a family so we wanted somewhere which was relaxing and practical and CasaLita could not have been a better choice. We loved that we had the pool and beach on our doorstep and It was so practical to get around with a pram. We did a lot of walking around with the pram as you do with a baby so the lifts and the pram friendly pathways made life so easy and the dedicated parking space with lift straight to the apartment was a god send. The apartment was amazing and had everything we needed and there was plenty of room for us and our stuff. We could go again if we became a bigger family or with friends. We especially loved that the apartment overlooks the pool and the beautiful gardens. The large terrace is fantastic and we ate many lovely meals out there overlooking the pool and gardens. The best thing is that is gets sun almost all day so we could enjoy our morning coffee and breakfast relaxing in the sun and we were never in a rush to get out to get in the sun which with a baby means much less stress. We could do as much or as little as we wanted so after a few days of relaxing by the pool and beach we went off to explore further and visited San Pedro and went to the local market and beach, we enjoyed evenings in Puerto Banus and Estepona and on day we did a day trip to tarifa which was fantastic and well worth the drive.

Another thing that was really handy was we were able to rent baby equipment from the management company so we didn't have to make so without a baby bouncer!!

All in all a perfect holiday in a great apartment in a beautiful part of Spain and we will definitely be going back!!

A fantastic apartment set in immaculate gardens very close to the beach

We had a wonderful holiday in the apartment - the view from the apartment was gorgeous and our children loved the pool and going to the beach to play in the waves. We also loved Pepe's restaurant which is a 5 minute walk down the beach.

The gardens are absolutely beautiful and immaculately kept. There are ponds with little turtles and frogs in and its all lit up at night - it really was like being in a 5 start hotel without the staff. I would highly recommend this apartment and if you are fortunate enough to be reading this because your thinking of going there, then my advice would be to book it.

A well placed lovely apartment

This is a good sized, comfortable, well decorated apartment. In a good position on a quiet, tidy complex. The generous beach, which was virtually empty whenever we visited, is just a 5 minute walk through the beautifully manicured gardens. The underground private carpark is a real bonus. Cancelada is only a short walk away and is in an attractive and convenient part of Spain. Wish we were still there!

"A little piece of paradise in Costalita"

We have just enjoyed a wonderful holiday in this beautiful & homely apartment.Costalita itself is a really well laid out complex with mature picturesque gardens & a 5 min private walkway to a magnificent beach.This apt has a really private & secure spot with a generous balcony overlooking the pool.It had absolutely everything we needed & the total package ensured we enjoyed a really relaxed & comfortable break.Joanna & Geraldine's eye for detail & appreciation of lovely things was so evident throughout the apt & added significantly to its charm & ultimately our comfort & enjoyment.All good things come to an end & while we were sad leaving this special place we are already planning & looking forward to our next visit.We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this lovely apt & were hugely impressed with everything it offered.

Special interest holidays:

There is some excellent horse riding in the area. One hour to four day treks in the mountains with with Karen Considine. A 45 minute drive from our apartment and highly recommended.

Lessons for all levels and events are recommended at Escuela de Arte Ecuestre Costa Del Sol, a state of the art riding center 10 minutes drive from our apartment. Great for golf, tennis, cycling, hiking, walking holiday. Beach resorts including kite surfing, windsurfing.


The beach is a 5 minute walk from the apartment through the gardens and through a locked gate.

There is a promenade which makes for a very peasant walk with a view to Gibraltar and on a clear day the coast of Africa.

The beach is sandy. There are 2 beach bars /restaurant - Pepe's Beach Bar & Antigua Beach Restaurant very close by. There are 2 more in the direction of the Playabella Hotel During the summer season there are water pedals to hire. Walking along the sea shore is recommended.


Costalita is a 50 minute drive on the toll road or a 65 minute drive on the coast road from Malaga Airport in the direction of Algerciras. From Gibraltar Airport it is a 60 minute drive. A car is recommended but it is very easy to get from Malaga Airport by bus to Marbella Bus Station ( an airport bus leaves every 90 minutes & costs 5 euros ) & then by local bus to Cancelada. The local bus goes every half hour between Estepona, Cancelada, San Pedro and Marbella . The bus stop is very close by.


We are a 15 minute walk to our local village Cancelada or 5 minutes by car for cafes, restaurants, a bank, chemist and grocery shop.

We are 15 minutes by car to Estepona (fishing harbour, market, shops, restaurants & Carrefour supermarket) and 10 minutes by car to San Pedro

(shops, banks, market, restaurants, cafes)

Puerto Banus is 15 minutes away by car ( luxury harbour , up- market shops & the great Spanish department store El Corte Ingles ( well worth a visit in sale time )

Further Details:

Shopping for food is easy here. Mercadona & SuperSol supermarkets are 5 minutes away by car. They are both very good and good value. Carrefour in Estepona has an excellent fish counter. On Fridays in Cancelada there is a vegetable stall selling wonderful fresh produce. There is a cash point near Mercadona . In Cancelada there is a cash point, a chemist, Catholic Church, tiny fish shop, grocery shop, excellent wine merchant, several bars, cafes & restaurants. There is also a very pretty village centre . There is a petrol station near- by on foot with groceries & same day UK news papers

Estepona has a lovely old square, pretty back streets, a very long promenade along the beach, lots of shops including a large Carrefour supermarket, a post office, banks, cafes, restaurants, a harbour where there is a market on Sunday mornings & a wonderful fish restaurant by the fish market

San Pedro has similar amenities to Estepona with a lovely promenade along the beach with some restaurants.

Puerto Banus is the place for luxury shopping & the famous department store El Corte Ingles and the yacht harbour

We are 2 minutes from the Villapadierna Raquet Club where you can pop in to book a court. They are open until 11pm each day.

We have 3 Golf Courses within 15 minutes of the apartment. ( see separate section )

Day trips to the White Villages are recommended for a great experience of Andalucia : Casares is 30 minutes away, Gaucin is 45 minutes away and the famous Ronda is a hour away. The drive into the mountains inland from us ,to these places, is spectacular.

There is also the famous and wonderful horse riding centre ( Escuela de Arte Ecuestre, Costa del Sol ) 15 minutes away by car.

Day trips further afield to Granada & Jerez and Gibraltar are all very achievable.

For children Selwo Safari Park is 20 minutes away.
