About the Owner

The Owner has enjoyed St Teath for 15 years. Her children and their friends have enjoyed growing up there in school holidays. Clock house has recently had a new kitchen which has completed the house. It is a second home and much loved. The apartment in Rayol Canadel has given us endless pleasure and the ability to fly out of miserable English weather to the special weather of the Cote D'Azur

We have stayed at this beautiful cottage several times in all seasons.IT has something to offer every season. Sunny beaches and long winter walks and log fires. We will be returning as long as it is available

The Lees.

Fabulous holiday. Ideally placed between the moors and many sandy beaches. We visited many places of interest. Particularly enjoyed St. Ives and the Eden Project both within easy reach.

Deborah Hurst.

What a joy to be able to walk to a lovely pub The White Hart. Such friendly staff.

Children and pet friendly.plenty to do the whole holiday. And Rick Stein's fish and chips amazing. Will return.

Dinky cottage in a quaint village close to the sea

  • 4 of 5

Furnished and maintained to reasonable level and totally adequate for our needs which included 4 teenage boys and 1 small dog!! Shame there is no WiFi and unable to open front bedroom windows; otherwise perfect. St Teath is a lovely village with everything one needs for a week's holiday.

Beautiful cottage in quaint village

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this lovely charming cottage. Just what we had hoped it would be. It was home from home. The bedrooms were all beautifully decorated, and the beds were very comfortable. It is situated opposite a beautiful church in a lovely quaint village. The villagers are all friendly and the pub is nice and handy being just across the road !

Annabelle, the owner, is a delight. Doesn't matter how many times you pester her she is always quick to respond!

I would highly recommend Clockhouse Cottage and would go back.

Thank you Annabelle for a lovely holiday.

Lack of cleanliness lets it down

  • 2 of 5

On first impression this picture postcard cottage looks beautiful, and we all very much looked forward to a great holiday, especially after a 9 hour drive! Sadly, the interior wasn't quite as lovely. I would like to say, this cottage has huge potential but it wasn't at all clean. Cobwebs down the sides of furniture, dust everywhere, a leaking sink in one bathroom, a leaking toilet in the other, all in all it needed a good scrub. My view is that when you work hard to pay for a family holiday (at its most expensive rate) I expect it to be at least as good as my own home. This was a huge let down. If it had a good makeover, it would be great as the location is perfect. Thumbs down from Yorkshire I'm afraid. Hopefully this review will help encourage the TLC this place needs for future hard working holiday makers.

Owner's Response: Dear Nik Hampshire and friends, I am really disappointed you posted your review. I have never have had a review like it. Also it was unnecessary because the problems would have been resolved immediately had you telephoned my housekeeper who is at the end of the telephone 24/7. I phoned her immediately I got your email and all problems were resolved. I do acknowledge when the weather is not good people look around more critically having more time in the cottage. Everyone who has stayed has always enjoyed the cottage and its charm unreservedly. I am so sorry you were so discontented and did nothing to remedy the problems - like phone the housekeeper. All I can do is apologise and did note that in your email to me you said you were enjoying your holiday so I am pleased your complaints did not mar your pleasure too much. The owner.

Clock House Cottage St Teath

  • 4 of 5

Annabelle, the owner, is a delightful artist and one feels privileged to stay in a home with her talent and taste. The cottage is more than delightful it is homely, safe, warm clean and private. The local pub is less than 2 yards away - a definite bonus in my books and there is plenty to explore nearby. To be honest I was just happy to relax and rest at this wonderful cottage which also by the way accepted my 2 cats (no qualms) and i loved it. The community is small but friendly and there is a local shop sells all. If you are considering this property DONT...just book it!

Owner's Response: Dear Joanne, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble. It is always heart warming to hear how much someone enjoyed staying in my second home - because that is what it is and you obviously sensed that fact. I do hope you will come again. Very best wishes, Annabelle. P.S glad the cats enjoyed their holiday too.

Fantastic week

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a great weeks holiday with our family at the clock house. Terrific 17th house in a nice little village with a pub, next door, church opposite, post office, butchers and provisions store. Excellent position for visiting North Cornwall areas from Boscastle to Newquay and beyond.

I would highly recommend a Cornish break staying in Clock House. The 17th century cottage has a chocolate box appearance and it doesn't disappoint inside. The two open fireplaces did it for my Husband. All the bedding was clean and fresh with nice crispy white sheets and pillow cases. There was plenty of room to accommodate my husband and I, our three grown up children and their partners, seven month old Granddaughter and our Springer Spaniel "Stanley"

When we stayed in April , the weather was lovely. Lots of pretty places to visit nearby. We liked Treyarnon Beach a lot. Make sure you display your parking ticket properly if you visit Polzeath Beach, as ours was only partially in view (apparently) and we incurred a £ 100 fine, £60 if paid within 14 days.

The locals in St Teath are fabulous, so friendly and helpful, especially when we asked for the best places to walk our dog.

The White Hart Inn is a skip across the road selling lovely reasonably priced food, the landlord even arranged a takeaway for us, served on our own plates.

I would definitely recommend Clock House for a beautiful Cornish getaway holiday.
