Sleeps 6. 3 bedroom gite. Access to the gite is over a dedicated patio located across from the secure pool area. The patio is equipped for outdoor dining and has a BBQ. The spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area has a tiled floor with a comfortable seating area with English satellite TV, DVD, CD player and free wifi. There is a dining table with chairs and fully equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The bedrooms are on the first floor: Bedroom 1 has a king size oak bed with Ergoflex mattress, bedside tables, wardrobe, original timber floor and ceiling beams, complimented by a view out across the vineyard to the Canal. Bedroom 2 also has a king sized oak bed with Ergoflex mattress, bedside tables, wardrobe and features and views to match bedroom 1. Bedroom 3 is to the rear of the gite and is set up with twin beds, bedside table, timber floors and beams. There are also 2 bathrooms with a shower, WC and handbasin in each.
The gites are adjacent to a small vineyard that stretches to the Canal du Midi near to the picturesque village of Homps. This is a quintessentially French location in the sunny Languedoc region, within a short drive of the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean near Narbonne and the spectacular Cité of Carcassonne. The property dates back to the 1850's and the renovation has retained the traditional character of the stone barn with oak windows, doors and the original timber roof beams, combined with modern facilities to make your stay comfortable. The excellent location allows guests to abandon the car and ramble for 15mins along the Canal to Homps to enjoy the scenery & numerous restaurants or, in the opposite direction to Olonzac to experience the colourful local market, bars, restaurants, tennis courts and park. Venture further afield on cycles or in the car to explore the numerous vinyards and Cathar castles.
We require a 25% deposit at the time of booking. The final payment is due 8 weeks before arrival. We also require a £100 returnable damage deposit.
The gite will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
Changeover days in July and August are usually Saturday to Saturday. Please enquire if you require a different changeover day. Other months are flexible.

We stayed for 16 nights in September 2016. As there were just 2 of us, we stayed in the smaller property - Gite Minervois. The accommodation was lovely and exceptionally well equipped, including a torch that we could use at night as we strolled back along the canal after lovely meals in local restaurants! Wendy was very welcoming and helpful. The information folder provided re local attractions, restaurants etc was excellent and it became our bible!
The location is beautiful. We were surrounded by vineyards and were able to watch the grapes being harvested from just outside the property. There are lovely places to visit on foot, by bikes (which were provide) and by car. With the exception of 2-3 days, the weather was beautiful.
Our only small disappointment re accommodation was that as our accommodation was up a stairs, we had no immediate access to an outdoor space (terrace, balcony).
Overall, we were delighted with the experience and no have hesitation in recommending it.
We are just back from a holiday in Homps in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France. We stayed in Gite Corbiere which was very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The owners, Wendy and John live next door and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.
The location is excellent, quiet but within easy walking distance along the canal to Homps or Olonzac. Both have excellent cafes and restaurants.
It was great to have English TV so after a day out and about exploring we could spend a relaxing evening watching a favourite programme or two.
We spent two lovely weeks here and have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Gite Corbiere.
The attention to detail in the Gite was amazing. Wendy and John had thought of everything to make for a relaxing holiday. We will be back!
The gite was well designed and furnished with a lovely garden and pool. The owners are very thoughtful and welcoming, and have provided bikes, table tennis and suggestions for things to do in the area. This and the nearby canal, lake and towns made for a very enjoyable holiday.
We stayed in Gite Corbiere for 10 days and found it very comfortable and really well equipped both inside and out.
There is plenty of seating/loungers outside for both gites, by the good sized chlorine free pool and in the pretty garden.
We were impressed with the bikes, equally good for the road and canal path. There are two barbecues, a good selection of books, games, table tennis and plenty of information about the area.
It is perfectly situated for easy access to the canal for cycling, walking, watching the boats and for Homps and Olonzac where there is plenty of choice of cafes/restaurants.
We used the boulangerie about 5mins walk away which has a good selection of bread (especially the Viking) & cakes.
Wendy has obviously put a lot of time and thought into making a stay here most enjoyable and totally relaxing.
We stayed for 10 nights in Gite Corbiere and can only say it was perfect - the property was very clean, modern and very comfortable, particularly the beds - we slept extremely well! Wendy and John were very welcoming, providing an information folder, guide books and leaflets on the local area as well as helpful advice and tips.
As the kitchen has everything you need (and due to dietary limitations) we chose to enjoy shopping in local markets and supermarkets (which are well stocked including free from items) for fresh produce and cooking meals each evening in the gite and eating al fresco on the patio overlooking the lovely garden.
The location is lovely, we regularly used the bicycles provided to cycle along the Canal du Midi, around the lake or to the local villages and markets and we often walked along the Canal in the evening watching the antics of the boat owners / hirers!
After a day’s sightseeing, we made use of the pool, played board games, table tennis, watched DVD's and English TV, all of which are provided by Wendy and John.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gite Corbiere and have no hesitation in recommending the property.
