This two storey apartment is part of a converted Maltings building which has wonderful views across the private Courtyard garden. All the furnishings are a very standard throughout. The first floor has two bedrooms one master ensuite double and one twin room with a family bathroom. The stairs lead to the second floor open plan living space - well equipped kitchen area with BOSCH appliances, dining table and chairs and a comfortable sofa and two arm chairs with freeview wide screen TV. The bi-fold glass doors open onto the private terrace which is a perfect space for a morning cup of coffee or a relaxing evening glass of wine. There is WiFi, constant hot water and under floor heating. The property has fresh linen and towels which are provided.

Newly converted to a very high standard these properties are in a delightful position within the heart of Snape Maltings home to the world famous concert hall. There is House and Garden, Food Hall with local produce, wonderful eclectic clothing, Little Rascals for children, books and cards as well as an antiques centre and music shop. Cafe 1885 and granary teashop offer great food for a relaxing stay - from the moment you arrive to when you leave. Staff are on hand to meet you and show you the lovely apartments/town houses. All have fully equipped kitchens, comfortable sofas and beds with quality linen, free view TV and have Wifi. The location is perfect - right beside the River Alde with walks to Iken and Aldeburgh. It is a bird watchers paradise with a host of different species all year round. Snape Maltings is just 5 miles from the shingle beach at Aldeburgh with Southwold's sandy beaches further up the coast. Aldeburgh's shingle beach has a wonderful shoreline and is only 5 miles from Snape Maltings. The famous Scallop structure lies between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness along a stretch of Suffolk coast which is most attractive. Sandy beaches and a pier can be found at Southwold which is 12 miles up the coast.


The nearest airport is Norwich which is 40 miles away with Stansted being 75 miles. The use of a car is considered essential although there is a bus service.


The nearest village is Snape which is 1 mile away accessible by footpath. There are many places of interest nearby including Sutton Hoo (8 miles), Orford and Framlingham castles (6 miles) and with Woodbridge Tide Mill (8 miles) and museum providing a wealth of local information. There are many food producers within a 5 mile radius of the Maltings. Minsmere and Dunwich are further up the coast within 16 miles.

Booking Notes:
The booking procedure is via email or by telephone. A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking with the full balance required 6 weeks prior to the stay. A good housekeeping deposit of £100 is also required at the time of paying the full balance.

Changeover Day:
It is possible to stay here for a week with the changeover day being Friday. Weekends Friday to Monday and midweek stays are available. Please do contact if other days are required as it is possible to be flexible depending on the time of year.

  • Notes on accommodation: This lovely two storey property has a master double ensuite and a second twin bedroom and a family bathroom on the first floor. There is a set of external stairs. The second floor is accessed by oak stairs and leads to the the open plan living space. The kitchen contains all that is needed for a holiday stay with modern appliances. The breakfast bar separates the room for the dining area which houses a table and chairs and leads to the seating area. Here there is a comfortable sofa, two armchairs and with a flat screen TV, DVD and sound system are housed in one corner as well as books and magazines. The fold back the glass/oak doors onto the private terrace which is the perfect spot to sit with a coffee or a glass of wine. There is WiFi, constant hot water, underfloor heating and an underground covered car parking space with ample free parking on site. Outside: There is communal garden space with seating which is very tranquil. Within a few steps is the River Alde with walks to Iken and Aldeburgh, the world famous concert hall home to Benjamin Britten and Aldeburgh Music and a wonderful array of shops, galleries, restaurants and antique collectors centre. River trips are available from March until October. Farmers markets are held once a month on the first Saturday with various other events throughout the year with the renowned Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival. Exhibitions are held with artists including Maggie Hambling with opportunities to meet the artist.
