Beautiful Villa the photo"s of it in the site doesnt do it justice

  • 5 of 5

Has been well maintained with so many personal touches you feel at home right away, the kitchen was well equipped, 2 different BBQ area"s which again was seperately equipped with the crockery and cutlery.Vere was extremely helpful & ensured we had a comfortable stay, the approach to the villa initially seems slighly long but Vere personally meets you halfway & takes you to the villa. The pool is lovely kids enjoyed the water floats which also had a shark included 😊 The only hitch is the AC is only in the sitting area & does not reach the rooms, we were fine as the rooms had fans but when its mentioned as fully A/C one understands that the roooms too has its own AC , apart from that overall fantastic stay would consider coming back some time.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your feedback. We are extremely happy that you too have enjoyed the charm of our house, the pool and its surroundings. As you indicated, the air conditioning is in the largest part of the house, lounge and dining room. In each bedroom there are fans available for use. We are going to specify this point more clearly on the site. Being on a hill facing the sea, the current A/C is usually more than sufficent. In fact, we have a radiator for each room. However this summer has been particularly warm and we will reconsider this matter. We will be happy to welcome you if you decide to come back again.

Lovely Villa. Lack of pool area for 7 people. No air con in any bedroom .

  • 3 of 5

Didn't cater for 8 as advertised. 4th bedroom down stairs smells and made clothing mouldy. Grass needs cutting. Only seating 6 around all tables.

Owner's Response: Thankyou for your feedback. - The pool area we have maintained in 2 sections. Half terraced, and half with grass and a couple of trees for shade. In general, our renters have preferred having both options. There is also the possibility to use the other raised terrace for sunbathing. . - The air conditioning is in the largest part of the house, lounge and dining room. In each bedroom there are fans available for use. Being on a hill facing the sea, it is usually more tan sufficent in summer. In Winter we have radiators available (both fixed and movable) for all bedrooms. - If the existing tables are not sufficient of comfortable, we have additional tables and chairs for 4/6 people that can be installed immediately. - The crockery is prepared for 12 people. Likewise the exterior crockery for the terrace and garden. We also have additional crockery and cutlery if required. - The bathroom for 4th bedroom appears to have had a problem with the ventialtion system. We are very sorry. It has never happened before and we have taken steps to make sure it doesnt happen again. Please let us know as soon as possible if there are any issues of this type. - The grass is always cut on the day of arrival and departure of tenants, to try to not interfere with holiday tranquility. Normally this is sufficient in summer. The gardener can always come within 24 hours if requested. We assure you your comments will help us to improve. With proper communication most problems can be resolved, and we will attempt to improve the the communication from our side with our guests.

Lovely villa, stunning views

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful villa sitting high in the hills of Oliva.

Vere, the property manager, met us on arrival into Oliva (despite us being somewhat delayed) to lead us to the location, which was a lovely touch. The villa was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want and more.

The pool was wonderful and we had great fun in it with our 10 and 13 year old daughters, who loved it.

Oliva itself is very Spanish, and not spoiled by mass tourism, so you really feel like you're immersed in the lifestyle. Just practice your Spanish as many locals don't speak English!

We loved Terranova beach in Oliva, long with soft white sand and not crowded at all. Get there early before the wind picks up and the kite surfers arrive.

We visited nearby town Javea, which had a nice beach front and is a bit more 'touristy' with a few more Brits if that's what you like. But our favourite town was Denia, which is very pretty with lovely shops and cafes on tree lined streets, we enjoyed it so much we went twice.

We spent a really enjoyable day in Valencia, visiting the Bioparc - a sort of zoo meets safari park but really well laid out and not a cage in sight.

Overall we had a lovely fortnight here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Joyful Disonnection

  • 5 of 5

After a busy few days in Barcelona a week in the villa provide a wonderful week where we could disconnect, relax and unwind.

We are a family of 5 with 3 children of mixed ages, and we all had a great time and enjoyed the location, the facilities and the pool.

The location was beautiful, peaceful and quiet and the villa maintained to a high standard. and our host very helpful.

Beware the mosquitos!

A lovely villa with beautiful views

  • 4 of 5

The villa is comfortable and the hill breeze keeps the air fresh. The pool is great and the facilities excellent. It was nice to find some amenities like cooking oil and condiments as sometimes there is absolutely nothing in the kitchen. The agent was extremely helpful and prompt to answer any queries.

We had a ninety-five year old with us so I was a bit dismayed to see how steep the steps up to the villa are but there is a side path so all was fine.

I think the best food was at Restaurante la Sota down at the Oliva beach -really excellent fish - but we ate well at all the local restaurants. This is not an area where lots of British holiday - many menus were not in English - but that makes it great to visit.

I would highly recommend the villa, particularly because it is up in the hills and so even when it was scorching outside, there was always a breeze and shade to be found. Many thanks for a great break.

Beautiful villa, hill breezes, spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of 6 adults) have just returned from a wonderful week in this lovely villa. It sits in the most stunning location up in the hills (the locals called them the mountains) of Oliva, overlooking orange groves down to the sea. The villa was immaculate, tastefully decorated yet comfortable, welcoming and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and we cooked in the well appointed kitchen every night. The pool outside is lovely, wonderfully situated and very clean. There are three patio areas; the top one had the sun all day, the one attached to the outside kitchen/utility room was lovely and shady in the heat of the day and the area around the pool was a lovely mixture of sun and shade. The outdoor furniture was plentiful and varied. The tiered, landscaped gardens were lovely too. With so many places to sit inside and out the villa feels roomy and comfortable. We cannot praise this villa highly enough. Absolutely loved it and its privileged location in the spectacular hills of Oliva.

Vere, the property manager, was brilliant; answering my many questions before the holiday; meeting us at the motorway and leading us to the villa; waiting while we dropped our stuff off and then leading us to the nearest supermarket; responding to texts and questions while we were there; coming to fix the wifi when it dropped out. Always cheerful and helpful - thank you Vere.

Overall, a wonderful villa, a beautiful location, excellent service and we would return in a heartbeat!

Further Details:

Oliva, located between the Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast) and the Costa Blanca, guarantee more than 300 days of sunshine a year, with a privileged "subtropical" climate. The region has a hitorical tradition of silk culture, exporting products across Europe. During the last 300 years, the moscatel grapes and citrus fruits have been the main produce, mainly exporting across Europe and the USA. These previous cultures have left characteristic house styles such as the "Riu-Rao", with its typical arcades and arches, today inherited by many villas in the region, including our villa.

It is common to recognize the structure of ancient terraces, on valleys and mountains, utilized for centuries for vineyards, olive trees, almond trees and carob trees, almost always overlooking the sea. The mediterranean landscape in all its glory ! Just 10km from the house lies the pretty "Vall de Gallinera", an area reknowned for its first class cherries and other fruits.

Today, Olivas rural landscape is a sea of orange groves along the coast, between the rugged mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. This continues to be the principal activity in Oliva, as well as the development of tourism.

Every Friday Oliva has one of the best and most crowded markets in the region. A huge selection of ítems is available from clothing and souvenirs to fresh fruit and vegetables.

The charming white old town, with its historic churches, noble mansions, twisted alleyways and small squares, combined with all the cultural activities, museums and the traditional fiestas of "Fallas" and "Moros y Cristianos" explain why so many expatriates choose this an area to live in. Olivas sports centre has pools, football pitches, basketball courts, gymnasium, athletcis track etc. On the coast area you can find sailing, fishing, diving, jet-skiing, kite surfing, tennis, golf, horse riding, amongst other activities. Cycling and trekking are also very popular in the área.

Gandia, with its Ducal Palace, great beach and comercial áreas, Denia with its splendid Marina and its Greek Castle over the sea, Javea with its stunning coves, are all less tan 30 minutes drive from Oliva. Calpe, with its impressive "Peñon de Ifach", its promenade along the coast full of bars and restaurants, and Altea, a lovely village on a hill above the sea, both deserve the 40 minute drive to reach them. Guadalest, with a medieval castle and small village based on an incredible rock, will surely amaze you.
