Villa in Oliva, Valencia, Spain - Peaceful Location Above Oliva, 5 Minutes To Town And 10 Minutes To Beach

Beautiful and spacious villa set in the hills above the orange groves overlooking Oliva with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is large and spacious, 240m2 on 2 floors, with air conditioning and plenty of terraces and garden space, as well as a private pool. There are also marked hiking trails nearby. Upper floor has a wide living room and splendid dining room with large windows looking out over the orange groves and the sea. The lower floor has a well equipped library and music room, and areas for table games. It also has a bathroom and large workshop area. The garden, of 1120m2 structured in the traditional terraces of the region, has mature pines and a lot of fruit trees and flowers. A separate outdoor bar / kitchen and laundry room with all the necessary facilities, as well as a barbecue, are at your disposal. There is a large outdoor dining terrace and the 8x4m pool, bordered by another sunny terrace, enjoys splendid views of the valley and sea.

There are other villas nearby in this small urbanisation, but this villa is detached and has total privacy. It also has a large workshop area that can, optionally, be converted into a bedroom for 2 people (bedroom 4) with private bathroom.

Within a half hour drive are 2 championship Golf courses, 3 Nature Reserves, 8 medieval castles, numerous culture and festival sites and all the intense liveliness of the Azahar and the Marina Alta Coasts. Valencia, the third main city in Spain is an hour away by car or train, and has fantastic medieval neighbourhoods to explore as well as attractions such as the City of Arts and Sciences.

Lovely villa, stunning views

A beautiful villa sitting high in the hills of Oliva.

Vere, the property manager, met us on arrival into Oliva (despite us being somewhat delayed) to lead us to the location, which was a lovely touch. The villa was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want and more.

The pool was wonderful and we had great fun in it with our 10 and 13 year old daughters, who loved it.

Oliva itself is very Spanish, and not spoiled by mass tourism, so you really feel like you're immersed in the lifestyle. Just practice your Spanish as many locals don't speak English!

We loved Terranova beach in Oliva, long with soft white sand and not crowded at all. Get there early before the wind picks up and the kite surfers arrive.

We visited nearby town Javea, which had a nice beach front and is a bit more 'touristy' with a few more Brits if that's what you like. But our favourite town was Denia, which is very pretty with lovely shops and cafes on tree lined streets, we enjoyed it so much we went twice.

We spent a really enjoyable day in Valencia, visiting the Bioparc - a sort of zoo meets safari park but really well laid out and not a cage in sight.

Overall we had a lovely fortnight here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Joyful Disonnection

After a busy few days in Barcelona a week in the villa provide a wonderful week where we could disconnect, relax and unwind.

We are a family of 5 with 3 children of mixed ages, and we all had a great time and enjoyed the location, the facilities and the pool.

The location was beautiful, peaceful and quiet and the villa maintained to a high standard. and our host very helpful.

Beware the mosquitos!

A lovely villa with beautiful views

The villa is comfortable and the hill breeze keeps the air fresh. The pool is great and the facilities excellent. It was nice to find some amenities like cooking oil and condiments as sometimes there is absolutely nothing in the kitchen. The agent was extremely helpful and prompt to answer any queries.

We had a ninety-five year old with us so I was a bit dismayed to see how steep the steps up to the villa are but there is a side path so all was fine.

I think the best food was at Restaurante la Sota down at the Oliva beach -really excellent fish - but we ate well at all the local restaurants. This is not an area where lots of British holiday - many menus were not in English - but that makes it great to visit.

I would highly recommend the villa, particularly because it is up in the hills and so even when it was scorching outside, there was always a breeze and shade to be found. Many thanks for a great break.

Beautiful villa, hill breezes, spectacular views

We (a family of 6 adults) have just returned from a wonderful week in this lovely villa. It sits in the most stunning location up in the hills (the locals called them the mountains) of Oliva, overlooking orange groves down to the sea. The villa was immaculate, tastefully decorated yet comfortable, welcoming and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and we cooked in the well appointed kitchen every night. The pool outside is lovely, wonderfully situated and very clean. There are three patio areas; the top one had the sun all day, the one attached to the outside kitchen/utility room was lovely and shady in the heat of the day and the area around the pool was a lovely mixture of sun and shade. The outdoor furniture was plentiful and varied. The tiered, landscaped gardens were lovely too. With so many places to sit inside and out the villa feels roomy and comfortable. We cannot praise this villa highly enough. Absolutely loved it and its privileged location in the spectacular hills of Oliva.

Vere, the property manager, was brilliant; answering my many questions before the holiday; meeting us at the motorway and leading us to the villa; waiting while we dropped our stuff off and then leading us to the nearest supermarket; responding to texts and questions while we were there; coming to fix the wifi when it dropped out. Always cheerful and helpful - thank you Vere.

Overall, a wonderful villa, a beautiful location, excellent service and we would return in a heartbeat!

Beautifully maintained rural retreat

The villa was superbly clean on arrival. Vere was most helpful and was at the other end of the phone when needed. The WIFI was intermittent which was annoying and we further discovered the WIFI was not unlimited but Vere did all he could to assist but for us this was a major issue as we still needed reliable WIFI for work purposes. The outside kitchen area was very handy for making drinks and having ice creams by the pool and although there were a few missing essentials the Villa was well catered and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area was a little cramped and to get to the pool from the villa we had to walk across the grass which wasn't ideal as it was a little overgrown and full of ants. The outside furniture could be better as the loungers were uncomfortable. The terrace where the dining area is enjoys the breeze and the views. We would have sat there much more if there was some comfortable outside seating up there. The area itself is remote and is perfect if you need to get away from it all. We visited some very good restaurants in Oliva which is a lovely typically Spanish town. El LLoc and Sanchis were visited a number of times - would highly recommend. The beach bar Oli Baba is an effort to get to as you cannot park nearby and have to walk along the beach to get to it....but it is well worth it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time at the villa and the garden area that surrounds it is beautiful but we thought that it needs just a little more attention to outside space.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback. Wifi download limits have been removed (hadn´t previously been aware there had been a 10GB download limit) and new additional outdoor furniture has been bought and put on the top terrace.

Perfect in Everyway

We have had a flawless holiday at this wonderful villa. The setting is perfect with the most fantastic views. The villa itself has everything you need for a peaceful stay and is clean and well maintained. we were met by Vere who guided us to the Villa and showed us where everything was and how it worked and even led us to the supermarket for that all important first shop. The pools cleaned twice a week and unless you are up early you wouldn't know anyone and been. If you like wide sandy virtually empty beaches then this is the place, theres miles of it. We spent most of our time between villa and beach but also had time to explore he Old Town which was wonderful. Cant recommend it enough we will be returning again.

10 minute drive to beaches of Oliva. Awarded blue flag, Q of Quality and ISO 14001. Oliva has 10km of great family beaches and special areas for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Four marinas near the house, Oliva (10 minute drive), Gandia (20 minutes), Denia (25 minutes) and Javea (30 minutes).

Travel:

Alicante or Valencia airports are the most convenient. Both are approximately 1 hour drive away. Car required for access to villa.

Distances:

5 minute drive to Oliva town where you can find a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Supermarket chains such as Mercadona, Aldi, Consum, Mas y Mas, Carrefour, Leroy Merlin all within 15 minutes drive of the house, as well as La Vital (Gandia) and Portal de la Marina (Ondara) shopping centres.
