About the property

Seagull Barn in Boscastle - a perfect hideaway

It is the perfect hideaway with many delightful character features including a solid slate fireplace with wood burner, open beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls.

Seagull Barn has a lovely enclosed garden and patio area with garden furniture and barbeque for summer evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge with freezer compartment. An AGA adds to the character, but it is not in working order. The living area is reached via a stable door from the kitchen. At one end of the living room, situated below a bay window, there is a dining table overlooking the pretty garden. The principal bedroom is split over two levels with the kingsize bed positioned on a platform in order to take advantage of the delightful views through a large arched feature window. (NB. low eaves above bed) There is an ensuite shower room with wc, and downstairs there is a twin bedroom, next to a bathroom and WC. Bed linen is provided at the property with beds made up on arrival for your comfort. All electricity and oil are included in the tariff. A cot and highchair are also provided free of charge should you require them and towels can be hired. Please be aware that there is a steep flight of steps up to the front door. Please note that it is a no smoking house but we do welcome one well behaved dog at a cost of £20. There is parking for one car. Wifi at the property.

About Timothy Abbott - Cornish Seaview Cottages

Hello, I run a holiday company called Cornish Seaview Cottages which advertises cottages in Cornwall. Having renovated a number of properties in Cornwall and then used them as holiday lettings, I decided to purchase a shell of a house and barn and build a holiday property in France which has had very favorable feedback. We now have a few more properties in France and our Cornish properties are also growing in number. As a small friendly company we have many loyal customers who enjoy staying in our properties and return year after year. We now look forward to welcoming you.

Why Timothy Abbott - Cornish Seaview Cottages chose North Cornwall

Previous guests comments: ” I couldn’t improve it, so lovely to stay somewhere so perfect where dogs are welcome too. It was comfortable, warm, well equipped, home from home – only better! We will definitely be back.” A great cottage for a family holiday with all the attractions Boscastle and the surrounding area offer.

What makes this barn unique

Boscastle is a spectacular Elizabethan harbour designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village has shops, pubs, restaurants and a visitor’s centre, but please note it is a long steep walk down from the cottage. However, you can take the car and park at the bottom should you not fancy the climb back. Historic Tintagel is only 3 miles away, while Bude (20 minutes by car) offers all the desired seaside attractions including surfing.

In the other direction you are only 20 minutes from Polzeath, one of Cornwall’s most popular family beaches – again another favourite with the surfers and body boarders and there are plenty of places to hire a wet suit in the chillier months. The North Cornwall Coast path is not too far away and nearby you can enjoy, seal-spotting, bird watching, coarse and sea fishing and horse riding.

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay here. We only have 2 issues. One was that the place could have benefitted from a good clean. There was quite a few cobwebs and dust around. Also the Tv reception was very poor. Maybe this is normal for this area but thought I should mention it. Otherwise would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

Great for our four-legged friend, very secure enclosed garden! Unfortunately the humans are not catered for quite as well. Property not very secure. No adequate outside lighting in the garden. A few solar lights in the garden would be beneficial for a minimal cost. The utensil drawer wouldn't open unless the button on the dishwaser was pressed in!!!! Such silly details that could be easily rectified on a budget. This property could be AMAZING with a little TLC. Had a pleasant enough week but sadly will not be rebooking...... such a shame!
