House in Polzeath, New Polzeath, Cornwall, England - Four Minutes Walk To Polzeath Beach For Sand, Rock Pools And Surfing

St Clair is a modern light and comfortable house. The open plan design gives a spacious feel. There is a large open plan kitchen and reception room, a wonderful upstairs room with sea and country views which is suffused with light even in winter. There are four bedrooms, two with en suite bathrooms, and two with a shared bathroom. There is a cot available for babies (bring your own mattress). There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. The house has been equipped to a very high standard, is welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxing. Warm in winter with Aga, central heating and log fire. Attractive enclosed garden with dining terrace, BBQ area, lawns and trees. The garden is enclosed and is suitable for children and dogs. Hot outside shower for use after the beach, and very popular with children. The property is situated within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the beach and spectacular coast path. Padstow, Rock and Port Isaac are nearby.

About the Owner

St Clair is our much loved holiday home which was for a time our main house. We extended and modernised it in 2010 with our architect and commissioned a hand built kitchen. We grew to love the area so much that on retirement form Oxford we bought a property nearby but inland so that we could indulge our passion for gardening.

We visit frequently to check the property or to enjoy it with family and friends.

As it was our home the atmosphere and furnishings reflect our enthusiasm for both vintage and modern. We regard you as our guests and want you to feel welcome. We are available if there are problems or you need advice.

Our housekeeper is experienced and trusted and looks after our own home too.

We are actually still on holiday at St Claire. The house is in a perfect spot, 10 min walk to sea and within walking distance of some lovely restaurants, cafés and shops all on the beach front at Polzeath. St Claire has offered us everything we had hoped for in a family holiday; the owners have thought of everything in the house - it is beautifully furnished with wonderful gardens. We have brought our two

Labradors with us and the gardens have been perfect; fully enclosed and large enough to accommodate us all (8 adults) and dogs perfectly well.

If you are looking for a relaxed holiday in a lovely home near to the beach St Claire will offer you the perfect holiday residence.

A house with a lovely garden within walking distance (with surf boards) of the beach. The sound of the surf and the view of the sea from the property and the road.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

There are several surfing schools on the beach at Polzeath. There is sea kayaking and coasteering at Port Quinn and Sailing at Rock. Wind surfing and kite surfing is popular at nearby Daymer bay. Walking on the coast path and Bodmin Moor is popular as is cycling along the Camel trail from Padstow or Wadebridge. There is also Sea Fishing and water skiing from Padstow or Rock. There are a number of National Trust properties and renowned gardens nearby. The Eden project is 40 minutes drive.

Coast/Beach:

The beach of Polzeath, 5 minutes walk down a footpath, is a lovely sandy beach suitable for swimming and surfing. Baby Bay, within walking distance is particularly suitable for children with gentle waves, lots of sand and rock pools. Daymer Bay which is suitable for swimming, kite and wind surfing is only a short drive or a long walk away. The beaches of North Cornwall are some of the best in the country. From the coast path you can experience sea views sometimes with seals and dolphins.

Travel:

Newquay Airport is 20 miles, approximately 35 minutes driving time away and Exeter Airport is 77 miles and takes approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes. Bodmin Parkway station is 18 miles and a 35 minute drive. The nearest Ferry terminal is Plymouth which is 48 miles and 1 hour 38 minutes driving. The best route into Cornwall is via the M5 and the A30. Polzeath is approximately 245 miles and 5 hours driving from central London.

Distances:

Polzeath village is within walking distance either across the beach or by the footpath. Wadebridge the local town is 8 miles and Padstow 16 miles by road or considerably less by ferry across the estuary. Rock and the Camel estuary are within walking distance or by car 4.5 miles. Truro city is about an hour away by car.

Further Details:

There are plenty of restaurants nearby in Polzeath and Rock, and Padstow is renowned for its seafood. There is a wide variety of food available from beach side child friendly restaurants to award winning places for the more discerning.

This is a sunny, welcoming house furnished with style, comfort and convenience in mind. There is Wifi. When you arrive there is award winning Camel Valley wine in the fridge, flowers on the table and in the bedrooms. The fridge is stocked with butter and milk and tea and coffee are available. The kitchen is stocked with spices and basics. There are the popular St Kitts Herbery toiletries for every guest and the beds are made up. There are logs and kindling for a fire on chilly evenings. We provide beach towels, body boards, beach cricket, buckets and spades. The garden is warm and sheltered and provides a peaceful haven after a day on the beach. Most of our guests return year after year.

Also a raised undercover terrace with a large table and eight garden chairs with outside lights with access from patio doors from kitchen.
