Apartment in Palma de Mallorca - 2 Minutes’ Walk From The Plaza Major And The Shops On San Miguel Street

Situated on the second floor of a traditional 19th-century building in the heart of Palma Old Town, the Orange Tree Apartment has been fully refurbished and has an open-plan living room, full kitchen, two double bedrooms and a shower room and WC. It has tiled flooring throughout and makes the perfect base for summer and winter breaks, with both air conditioning and heating. Warm bedding is also supplied.

The apartment is centrally placed within the Old Town walls. A 2-minute walk will bring you to the Plaza Major and the shops on San Miguel Street, while the Cathedral can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. Palma’s seafront promenade and the marina are no more than 15 minutes’ walk away.

Soak up the views over the Placa Banc de l’Oli from any of the balconies - one leads off the living area and the others off the bedrooms. This quiet square is planted with orange trees and is perfect for people watching over morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. Two patio chairs are also provided.

In the evenings, guests can unwind in front of the TV in the living area, where you’ll find a sofa for two and a coffee table, or dine on a Spanish feast - there’s also a dining table and chairs, comfortably seating 4. The well-equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, electric oven, hob/stovetop, and crockery and cutlery to serve 4, as well as a microwave oven, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.

There are two well-sized bedrooms, both with French doors leading out to private balconies. The master bedroom comes with a double bed has a fitted wardrobe and en suit bathroom. The smaller second bedroom is has a chest of drawers for storage. There is one more bathroom in the apartment. Both bathrooms are modern simple design with a walk-in showers.

The apartment is equipped with a washing machine, bed linen, towels and cleaning products are all provided. A cleaning service can also be arranged for longer stays (on request, extra charge).

Local street-side parking is free from 8pm until 9am (pay and display at all other hours) and the closest big capacity, underground car park is under the Plaza Major.

Nice apartment in a central location

This is the first time we have booked through Owners Direct. There were no problems with the booking or the apartment (although the apartment door was difficult to open). Everything was as described, but a few things have changed around from the photos shown. The apartment is on the second floor, up some steep steps, so might not be suitable for the elderly or families with young children. It was clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday (inc. a/c, dishwasher,washing machine, large fridge-freezer, hair dryer, iron etc.) and it was great to have 2 bathrooms between the four of us. Wi-fi was included and was reliable - essential for our teenagers!

Some of the neighbouring properties were empty and undergoing renovation work when we stayed (March '16), which could be noisy in the mornings, but the central location, just off Placa Major, made up for this. There was a handy mini market and a couple of good, small restaurants in the square, and many further shops, bars and restaurants could be reached within minutes. Two larger, but well hidden supermarkets, were also within walking distance; one in the underground shopping centre in Placa Major and one above the Mercat de l'Olivar.

We love Mallorca, we spend a lot of holidays on this Island and got great friends there as well.

It is a great place to do all of my favorite sports: surfing, hiking, climbing and cycling.

The apartment is in the historical center of Palma. We like the athmosphere here and presence of history while walking on the streets on the way to market or to the beach.

There is a story about the square, 18 orage trees were planted by Jewish comunity, hence the name of the apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

Staying in our apartment in Palma is a great experience. It is amazing to get up in the morning and be right in the middle of the historic town. We can decide whether to go for long breakfast in one of the charming coffee places or take a short drive to interesting beach or cliff. The apartment is cosy and comfortable for the family or for friends.
