Holiday Cottage in Crymych near Newport, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Secluded Location Near Beach, Coast & Mountains, Amazing Views

A sympathetically & ecologically restored Cottage incorporating original slate sills & rustic beams with more modern solar panels..Nestled in a secluded 16 acre small holding but just 5 mins from the small postal town of Crymych which can be reached by Public Footpath or car. There are stunning views of Foel Drygarn & Preseli Hill range all the way down to the coast at Newport. Come back to the patio or conservatory at the end of the day to enjoy some amazing sunsets. Pembrokeshire National Park & Coastal Path as well as plenty of safe sandy beaches are within 20 minutes driving.

The Cottage is ideally suited to families of up to 6 plus use of our travel cot in the main bedroom..We often get 3 generations of families staying. For an all adult group it suits 5 people.

Hi, I'm Liz Croft, this is me outside the front door of the Cottage at New Year 2016......We'd love you to come & stay at our fabulous 'home from home' Holiday Cottage in beautiful North Pembrokeshire, West Wales..

We run Plas Drygarn Cottage as a small family concern along side our other full time jobs.. We care about our visitors & their enjoyment & aim to tailor each week to it's occupants needs. We found this was something we couldn't do if used an Agency as they don't let you have contact with clients before their stay.

The best part of the last 9 years has been to see families & couples return to us each year once they have discovered us.

Why liz croft chose Crymych

We bought this derelict small holding in 2000 & have done up the main Farmhouse for ourselves at a higher level than the Cottage. So far we have completed one barn conversion which is Plas Drygarn Cottage..We have been renting it out since Oct 2009 with 4* grading. We have made a good start on renovating a 2nd lower level property but will be another few years before completion.

We chose this spot knowing that although rural & peaceful we were still just 5 minutes drive away from the small town of Crymych with both Primary & Secondary Schools for our children as well as a Leisure Centre, Swimming Pool, Rugby Club & great variety of small shops.

What makes this cottage unique

Crymych is a central location for daily visits & enjoying the 3 Counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion & Carmarthenshire.

We are not on the roadside, we have a decent farm track to the small holding meaning it is safe for your children & pets as well as being very peaceful!

We have a guest book for your comments which we do follow up on if any suggestions are made...It is full of praise for the cottage, the surrounding area & our hospitality.. We have had a range of visitors from honeymoon couples to 4 generations of 1 family stay here...It seems to be suiting small families who wish to bring grandparents. It is proving to be a very versatile property.

Notes on accommodation: We are a family run business who take pride in our Holiday Cottage to ensure that you will be happy to return to us in the future & also to recommend us to your friends & family. It is a child & pet friendly cottage within the grounds of the large fenced garden looking out towards the mountains. Once outside the garden then children must be supervised & pets must be kept on a lead at all times for their own safety & livestock wellbeing. We are happy to arrange an animal feeding & egg collection activity during your stay.. Outside: The garden & patio area is enclosed for the safety of your children & also to keep your pets inside it as the Cottage is on a working small holding. The garden adjoins a paddock which may have our lambs, sheep or horses in. There is private parking for 2 cars at the kitchen door but plenty more available if needed. The patio has a rustic table, 2 chairs & 2 benches to enjoy the peace & quiet of the garden. There is a garden shed with bbq, out door toys & kids furniture, Swingball, beach toys & kids surf boards all for your use. The TP climbing frame/slide/monkey bars can be brought into the garden during your stay if wished.You may use the shed to store cycles & any larger items you bring with you. There is an outside hose reel & tap for cleaning off muddy dogs & clothes or wetsuits. Utility Room: Outside utility room with washing machine & stacked tumble dryer. Washing basket, bowl, pegs & washing line beyond the car park area so as not to block any of the wonderful views. A storage shed houses recycling, BBQ, Swingball & beach/outdoor toys. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All beds are freshly made-up for your arrival. Bath & hand towels are provided for all occupants as well as extra hand towels & bath mats in both bathrooms. Toiletries, washing machine & dishwasher tablets, tissues are all offerred free of charge. Other: Stunning sun lounge conservatory with a cane suite & comfy cushions. Amazing views & sunsets can be appreciated from here on your return to the cottage each evening..Leads out to patio BBQ area with solid garden furniture for bbq eating or just relaxing.

The property was very clean and had everything you would expect in your own home.

The property had fantastic views from the conservatory and kitchen, we saw some beautiful sunsets. The owner has put some thought into the property with some personal touches, she had thought of everything! We couldn't recommend this property enough it was fantastic.

Tranquil setting, friendly owner - and we were lucky with the weather

We (family of 4 including 2 teenagers) had a lovely time here. Liz was very helpful though not intrusive, my son enjoyed the visits from the dogs, and we all enjoyed the lovely views and peace and quiet of surrounding areas.

It's a great base for coastal walk, seaside and nearby resorts - though perhaps not as central as St Davids area.

We were especially lucky with the weather, and friends have raised their eyebrows when we said "who needs Majorca beaches when you can go to Mwnt beach (15 mins away) in South Wales" !

A good choice for a family of 4 who want peace and quiet and relaxation in Pembrokeshire.

What a view!

Perfect for people that appreciate a quiet location with far reaching views. There is a public footpath practically on the doorstep so perfect for dog walking. The cottage is really well appointed with everything you need for cooking and dining. The ground floor bedroom and shower room is perfect for the less mobile. Liz was a great host even amending the normal Saturday start to a Friday as we were taking part in a charity walk that started early on the Saturday morning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stunning views, excellent location

The cottage is cozy and makes the best use of it's best asset: the views. Being dog friendly is a massive bonus with a lovely garden for small/medium dogs to run about in. (Local walks must all be on-lead - this is sheep country.) But what walks there are! The short hike up the hill in the picture is worth it for the 360 degree panorama that awaits you. Poppit-sands is just a 15 minute drive away and there there is a seemingly endless beach - and lots of other dogs to play with.

The cottage is pretty and equipped to a very high standard. Liz has worked so hard to make sure that everything is just perfect. We did not find anything lacking and if there was, Liz made it clear that she's very keen to find out what and put it right. This was our first time in this part of the country and our accommodation choice added to the mix to us to fall in love with the whole region.

Welcoming and lovely location.

Dear Liz, thank you for our holiday at your cottage, which we really enjoyed. The cottage was clean, comfy and well equipped. Very well situated, with good views and within easy reach of beautiful places. Thank you also for the homely extras that made us feel welcome and for being so friendly and helpful, especially by returning our squashed mobile phone which we still use occasionally.

Walking in the Preseli Hill range as well as along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. We are a pet friendly cottage allowing up to 2 well behaved dogs for a fee of £20 each per week.

Cycling Trails are sign posted locally.


15-20 minute drive to either Newport Sands or Poppit Sands. 40 minutes drive to Tenby, St Davids or Newquay making ideal days out..


Railway Station at Clunderwen is just 15 minutes away by car/taxi for any late arrivals in your party...


5 minutes drive to local town of Crymych, 15-20 minute drive to slightly bigger towns of Newport & Cardigan which are in opposite directions but both are near estuaries with sandy beaches.

Google Map marker is set wrongly at present, we are down a safe track well off main roads but can walk to Crymych via Public Footpath in just 15 minutes.

Further Details:

We aim to provide as much as we can for your holiday convenience & to save you bringing too much with you. For children & babies we have 2 of most things from travel cots, high chairs, dining booster seats, stair gates, bed guard, potties, step stool to sink, bath seats, changing mats & floor play rug.

There are toys, puzzles & books for all ages in the sideboard in the lounge.

In the shed is a toddler paddling pool, children sized out door furniture, beach toys & surf boards as well as a swing ball set. A climbing frame/slide/monkey bars can be moved into the garden during your stay on request..

For your well behaved pets please bring their own bedding or cage to prevent them using any furnishings.They are not allowed in any carpeted areas of the cottage hence most of downstairs is tiled except the bedroom. Dog towels would be required too & we have a hose at the kitchen door for washing down muddy or sandy dogs before coming back into the cottage.

During the Autumn/Winter/Spring we offer special 'couple only' rates if using just 1 of the bedrooms. This may also include our travel cot in your room if holidaying with a young baby. Shorter break during this low season time also start at just £400. Please also note that dogs are charged at £20 each per week. Winter heating rate of £30 also applies October to April. Book 2 summer weeks together & save £100.
