We stayed in the self-catering studio for a week - it was very peaceful and we had a wonderful time exploring the area. The studio is well-equipped and extremely comfortable and our hosts were very friendly and helpful, booking us a trip to Skellig (well worth it). Well-worth a visit - an excellent base from which to explore Kerry. 5/5

Iskeroon a fabulous hideaway
Iskeroon is an amazing place hidden next to the sea with great walks and views. The apartments were really well designed with an excellent finish and all the modern facilities. The owners were very helpful directing us to many of the local attractions and restaurants and they certainly went out of there way to assist when asked for guidance. We arrived in a very heavy fog and awoke the next day to some of the most beautiful ocean and country side views. Some of the attractions like the Skellig Islands were just breath taking but make sure you book early in your stay or you will miss walking to the top of the monastery. We would strongly recommend Iskeroon to family and friends.
Activity and Interests
Special interest holidays:
Derrynane Harbour is located on the Ring of Kerry, between the villages of Caherdaniel and Waterville. Derrynane is best known for its National Park, its Blue Flag beach more than one mile in length and the harbour which has a watersports centre. A boat departs from Derrynane Harbour for the Skellig Islands, site of a 6th century monastery and a bird sanctuary and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Derrynane is situated near the western tip of the Iveragh Peninsula in south west Kerry. Derrynane was the home of Daniel O'Connell, known in Ireland as 'The Liberator' for winning Catholic emancipation in the mid 19th century. Caherdaniel, which lies on the Ring of Kerry, is a small, pretty village with two atmospheric pubs, and an ancient ring fort. The Kerry Way walking trail passes through Caherdaniel, and gives walkers fantastic views of Derrynane Bay, Derrynane Harbour and the Beara Peninsula.

'You can 'do' the Ring of Kerry a thousand times and Iskeroon will never reveal itself. Iskeroon's worldly brand of adorableness and utterly secluded seafront location ensure that it never wants for business. It's the kind of place where people have standing reservations for the same room for the same dates year after year. An hour from Kenmare, in what connoisseurs of the Ring consider the prettiest pocket of the Iveragh Peninsula....The Irish are exceptionally well traveled in their own country, and everyone I talked to who knew Iskeroon said it has the best views their land has to offer....Iskeroon is a romantic, elemental wind-tossed place that makes it easy to fall in love.' Travel and Leisure Magazine.
If you're lucky you might see seals, dolphins and sea otters. Fishing expeditions and trips to the Skellig Rocks, a Unesco World Heritage site, leave from Bunavalla Pier, just five minutes walk away. Many of our guests walk across the Mass Path to Derrynane to visit the National Park and the Blue Flag beach, perhaps calling in to Keating's Bar for a drink or something to eat. If you wish, you can continue walking, rejoining the Kerry Way at the top of the hill, where there are fantastic views of Derrynane Harbour, Derrynane Bay and the Kenmare River, with the Beara Peninsula in the distance and the Bull Rock on the horizon. Follow the road back down to the harbour and you will have completed one of the prettiest looped walks in Ireland.
